I don't think she became evil because Shen Jie didn't love her. It was told to us through narration and even by herself that she wasn't a nice person and schemed her way to where she was in her 1st life.

I agree with you that she needs XW to tame her. Her personality is very strong and independent. As much as I think I will like Zhang Zhe since I have yet to see his game, I still feel he's a bit too straight laced and proper for Ning 'Er.
Why hate TML? He's also very nice although I don't want him as Ning'Er end game.
I think he deserves a second chance just like she’s getting a second chance. So far, I haven’t seen anything bad about his character and nothing is shown about the SA at all in the drama up to the latest episode. Not sure what’s going on in the novel, but I like the way the drama script is heading.
