You're right. That just shows I'm not as focused when it's not He Ran and Xiao Han together on screen. I guess He Ran not using this apt is another part that's not explained by the drama, just like a few other mysteries: Xian Han's niece visiting by herself from a flight required trip, and how He Ran gets a new set of cloths the next morning when she stays at his place overnight without bringing a luggage.

Yes, I'm also sure she swapped it. She replaced the fake one with the authentic one. Han Yu's uncle helped He Ran hide her secret about Xiao Han because he knew she must like Xiao Han a lot base on her gifting such a valuable painting to him without his knowledge.

Her dad wrote a famous quote from Victor Hugo's Les Miserables:

Limerence is a strong obsession/infatuation for someone in which all you think about is that person, almost like a form of addiction with intense euphoria.

The connection is He Ran's state of mind and how she feels for Xiao Han. Her crazy interest in him is like a limerence; it's inexplainable but the desire to be with him is so strong nothing else matters.

Xiao Han isn't acquainted with He Ran's dad. It just so happens that he sees this copy and purchases it. He Ran probably takes this as a sign from her dad or a higher being. A sign to validate her pursuing him, and that she should be "bold" like in the quote.

He Ran's Dad painted it. Han Yu's uncle was trying to protect the rightful owner of the painting, which in this case was Xiao Han and He Ran. The first time the uncle saw the painting at Xiao Han's haircutting shop, it was already the authentic version, but he didn't exactly know how it got there. Xiao Han said he got it from a cheap place, meaning it was a fake when he bought it. That was why he made a call to have someone looked into Xiao Han and possibly the painting. In the arts world, there's normally a trail on each famous painting such as who owns it now and the value. It would have shown that the painting wasn't sold on records and still remains with the family. Since the uncle isn't stupid, he probably worked it out in his head that He Ran had something to do with why the authentic painting was in the shop.

She said she wasn't renting it anymore in the same or the following episode.

I thought the telling of time and locations in general was good. I was able to work out that they met in the summer of 2017 in Qiongzhou/XiaoZhou/Hainan. She found a Polaroid photo dated 2017 August the night the epiphyllum flower bloomed. She went to college in Sept 2017 in XiJing (he saw her letter of admission). She visited him in his hometown near Tibet over Lunar New year, normally Jan/Feb 2018. Summer of 2018, which is as of ep 21, she relapsed and moved back to Xijing area for treatment. There was a scene he said "happy birthday, it's been a year since we met" or something along that line.

Yup, plus making us wait 4 days for it, too. My only excuse for them is maybe the director is having a hard time deciding which ending to give us since there are 3 different endings.🤔

XiJing is a 3 hour flight from Qiongzhou/Xiaozhou/Hainan. In ep 11, there's a scene where she asked her mom and neighbors to take her to the airport. He didn't just randomly pick XiJing to work at the flower shop by the hospital. He knew she was in XiJing, and was hoping to be closer to her yet giving her space.

There's no "but" for me here. There's just so much to love about this drama, especially if you appreciate factors such as beautiful cinematography, color grading, music/sound selections & synchronization.

As of the latest ep 21, he doesn't know yet. He probably suspects she's not feeling well but doesn't know she has leukemia.

Maybe he thought she needs an easy way out. We know he's really not over her since he came looking for her just to get a glimpse from a distance at the hospital/street scene.

In the drama, she's actually 20 when they met. As of the latest ep 21, she turned 21.

I also agree all this could have been resolved had she been upfront with him about her medical condition. There are so many reasons why she doesn't tell him. It's not an easy topic to talk about one's impending death. She herself is clearly avoiding it, pretending life is rosy and happy, and living life to the fullest while time is being cut short. I believe she doesn't want negativity to tarnish what she and Xiao Han has. Maybe she doesn't want him to mourn for her. However, you're right. It should be Xiao Han's decision to make, not hers. But when you love someone so much as she does for him, you want to to take away their suffering, just like how her mom tries to protect He Ran in the best way she knows. Sigh...it's heavy.

Finished ep 20 & 21. The most touching part for me was the mom & daughter scene in the hospital where they both sat on the floor, and He Ran shared the story about the sea flatworms. It showed how much He Ran understood the hardships and sacrifices her mom went through for her even though mom could be overbearing and insufferable sometimes. I'm very glad He Ran knew it was all due to immense love. Their relationship was strained but now they reached a new level of bonding.

He seems to get along well with QingKui's maid/assistant in the Void. Hopefully, they hook up in the end. They are cute together.
