Already at 10,600 for comments at ep 18. There’s potential this drama can hit 30k for the combined 56 episodes since it’s already 1/3 to completion.

CSS’s voice is different too when she speaks to LBY. More feminine and demure, but in no way foxy nor wily.

I didn’t see the video and neither could I understand enough Mandarin to grasp Wu Leo’s usage of a possible mis-translation of the word “toxic” by a fan or maybe even by the official media platform.

In English, toxic as a characteristic is so negative. Not having read the book nor alternative in-depth excerpts, I don’t have further insights to LBY’s psyche, I could only go off what have been presented to us from the drama, and from what I’ve seen, he’s far from the “toxic” as how we have come to understand the lingo in modern day. I feel “strategic” may be a more suitable term. As for what Wu Lei meant to express, I’m hoping he meant LBY is “dark, vengeful, blood tainted (from war), no qualm in killing the bad guys” type of “toxic” vibe. I find it difficult to believe the original writer would pen a real toxic ML for us to idolize and drool over . 😀

The funny thing is the whole gang sense Second Bro is into Qiqi, including CSS; but CSS herself can’t detect LBY Is into her, Or… maybe she suspects but doesn’t want to entertain the idea since she has LY

In ep 18, LBY acknowledges LY is nice and gentle while CSS is pretty and smart, and that they make a decent pair. They both like each other so he figures he should just move on instead of breaking them up for personal gain. However, knowing how difficult the Lou family is and LY’s inability to protect CSS, LBY requests the Emperor to praise her in everyone’s presence at Lou’s home as a form of “protection.”

LBY is so awesome. His action is truly commendable. So capable, so mature, and 5 steps ahead of everyone. I can’t wait until CSS grows up emotionally so she can feel and experience the kind of love meant for lovers, not friends.

I have an even better idea. They should release all episodes at once ! 😀hehe

Yes, he wants real love and he knows what that is because in either ep 13 or 14 , he said to the Emperor that he wants the kind of love his aunt and uncle had ( who I suspect are his biological parents); not the kind of marriage his supposedly current parents have.

I don’t think he was ashamed. I feel he sensed her innocence and didn’t want her traumatized by the event and witness execution first hand, especially she wished for those rebels’ death as well.

LBY has a higher level of overall awareness. He understands CSS doesn’t like people like him (bloodstained, meting-out death, war and violence), so he doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable by forcing himself on her even though he likes her. He’s respectful of her, and I actually like that in him.
