Yup...strangely, if I see an amazing opening, I already give the director an A. Upon looking the director up, no wonder, it's because he also directed The First Shot and The Forbidden Flower, both I rated 9 and 9.5, which is not often on my scale.

I don't know if this series will be good, but I at least know the director will do an amazing job in interpreting and executing his creative vision.

I love Cheng Yi, but I had to drop Journey of the Legend - sadly. So, really hoping Sword and Beloved lives up to our expectations!

But the chemistry in Love in Pavilion is so epic. DongFang Huai Zhu and WangQuan Hong Ye is the main driving force as to why I so wanted to watch Sword and Beloved, even though I totally love Cheng Yi and Li Yi Tong, too.

I'm not used to seeing him in such role. A villain, yes, but a Dong Fang Xi Bai-effeminate-like psychotic villain, it's a bit unfitting. Maybe it's the wardrobe with the lacy headdress, giving off the wrong vibe. But glad he's getting more different roles.

I know, right? I hope he "wakes" up and be a good guy again. Otherwise, fate really dealt him a rotten card.

I like her voice and she uses it well. It reminds me of Crystal Liu/Liu Yi Fei in how she speaks, the pace and cadence, and of course, including the gasp. I do find it unique and charming, especially in certain roles, eg. as Ming Yi and the one in My Journey to You where she pretended to be demure.

It's the secret, also mentioned in the first paragraph written in the summary above.

I had a big surprise laugh when Alen Fang shows up wrapped in all that fabric and headdress in ep 1. 🤣

They probably will make an oath to also die on the "same day, same month, same year." 😁

I think that's her own voice. She sounds the same in My Journey to You and Perfect Match. It's part of her unique charm, speaking as if out of air.

JBZ is so adorable whenever he said "hao hao hao" to Ming Yi.
