I feel like the emperor will fall in love with the princess actually and once XJS is dead he will stop the wars..…
This could also be a viable option, especially after she has a taste of what real power can do. Better to stay a regent and rule than return home as a "failed" princess.

THe Emperor of JinXui is a lunatic, killing people around him for no reasons, and sleeping with all his officers' wives. I don't think it's a good idea for the princess to stay longterm with him. best he dies for FSG's peace of mind. =)
I thought about it, both Xia brothers have to die in order for FSG to rule peacefully. Given XJS’s personality, he would never give up in taking the throne of JinXui, and will continue to cause chaos or wage war on Susha if he believes he has the upper hand.
His dad took such a dark turn though. He went from "save my son" to "we must lure and kill FSG"…
Yes, it's an excuse of doing it all for his son. He was already having some of his people in court, just not as many as PM Zhuang. During one of their conversations, Zhuang said to Murong "you also placed your people in court." If he didn't harbor any idea of possibly rebelling, why have his own people in court. He just didn't pull his trigger because he thought his son didn't want bigger things nor have the aptitude to fight for more. Additionally, he knew he wouldn't be able to battle straight on with Zhuang who was seemingly more powerful. Now that Zhuang was gone and his son did want more, he was seizing the opportunity.
The empress dowager of Jinxiu is not the mother of the emperor, nor Xia Jing Shi's mother, right? Is that why…
She's the bio mother the emperor of JinXui. XJS's mom was a maid, but he was the first born. The Empress Dowager used XJS's low birth standing as an excuse to place her own bio son as the Emperor of JinXui, even though she knew her own bio son wasn't as intelligent as XJS.
ep 29, XJS truly was intelligent, although a morally gray character. He was able to deduce:
1) FSG didn't kill the Emperor; 2) Murong Senior and Jr. committed the crime and placed the blame on FSG; 3) His own life was at greater risk since there was no war and his brother will have try to kill him quicker.
No interested in the Princess and Emperor of JinXui what so ever. Wondering if I would feel differently had the Princess's role been cast with someone with more magnetism and pull.
I love Lu Ke. He's such a goof ball.

I’m not feeling too good.
