I don't blame him though. He even said it himself that he couldn't afford nor allow himself to fall for her once he found out she was a fraud who approached him since the very beginning with deceit. Fooled once, but not twice.

I hear you. I'm rooting for Fated Hearts. While I enjoyed Shadow Love and Cheng Lei, it's missing angst and that something magical feeling. Let's hope team Fated Hearts delivers --- which I feel it's already half way there because I love its director.

He wanted to create a positive and stellar image for himself in the business arena which could help him in achieving a more elite profile, and thereby establishing more business connections and winning major contracts. She was in the TV/news industry and had potential to be a newscaster which could also help him creating his positive image with a broader audience reach. Because he knew she was a schemer when she came into his space, he targeted her to be his "wife." We don't know if he started to develop SOME feelings for her during their marriage, or he was cautious of her the entire time. But, she definitely had feelings for him.

Thus, I didn't know if HM truly loves XY since the very beginning, because not only was he shown showering her with gifts and adoration, but he was protecting and helping her with many obstacles as well. However, in the next few upcoming episodes, we will see if he's also been scheming since the beginning, and XY is just another of his chess pieces.

As you agreed, Fang Lei is mentally unstable. He didn't lie, date, make sexual advances, nor amorous promises to her. She baited him many times, but he didn't cross the line as I see it. She threatened him with revealing his son's identity. The only thing he did was to keep her in check so she behaves until the contract is signed.

In one of the earlier episodes when HM had his people investigate fraudster Zhou, the medical CEO, I already knew for sure that he also had Xu Yan investigated and was aware of her lies/scheme.

I don't think he was ever married to the sister. As for his current marriage, it's because Fang Lei knew it was a sham from the beginning from ML's POV. Thus, in Fang Lei's psychotic mind, he's still available.

Me, too! I enjoy his cunningness now that it's revealed. It shows how capable he really is.

Yup! I love the details, too. When he finally gave her a limitless credit card, to most women, it would have been a grand gesture; but Xu Yan wanted his time and commitment as a husband/partner. She was left standing there with his jacket as if nothing but truly just a maid.

ML is ruthless and a gray character, but he's not evil. So far, all the people we've seen him trapped aren't perfect citizens themselves, including Xu Yan. She was scheming from the very beginning, orbiting into his space and inserting herself into his life/family as Mrs. Shen, although she ended up developing feelings for him. HM brought down the fake medical CEO Zhou, fired Mr. Wu who was embezzling, curbed Fang Lei for her psycho-tendencies. I feel he's more of "an eye for an eye" and "I treat you how you treat me" type of character. Totally redeemable and a great match for someone like our strong and intelligent Xu Yan. We just have to wait for him to fall hard for her now. =)

I think so, unless she’s been using the same voice actress for the past 10 dramas.
