I am very much Impressed by how Ding Zi Guang has directed the series.Considering His Last two projects, this…
Yes, I'm glad DZG is on this project. It doesn't matter how great the script is or how awesome the leads are if the director isn't skilled enough to execute and bring to life the essence and heart of the story.
In historical China, lovebirds would go on dates to admire the moon at night among the flowers by the water. The guy would invite the lady to “Shang Yue” (admire the moon). Chang Yang asks Mu Dan to “Shang Yu” (admire the fish) surrounded by beautiful flowers, and there’s water, there’s “yu” / fish, and substituting the round fishbowl as the orb of the moon. Perhaps they are even seeing the reflection of the moon floating within the fishbowl; therefore, Shang Yue after all. 😛😜
Although the date is unintentional, the beginning of a romantic relationship budding soon is seemingly real.
The foreshadowing is strong; the double meaning is awesome.
The FL climbs this steep mountain to hunt for wild peonies and we are told that the climb is difficult and dangerous.…
The way I imagine a large estate befitting of a prince with hunting ground would of course have front hills (main entrance with grand and decorated paths for all mediums whether it be on foot, carriages, or horses, and then there's the back hills, which in this case, the steep mountains. If it helps, picture a square, one side will be the front main entrance, and the other three sides are steep mountains for privacy and protection. So, obviously, the prince and ML entered/exited like regular people via the front entrance, while FL stepped onto the ground via one of the three sides.
Ultimately, it's just a show, so if all analyses fail, then applies the "director/writer do whatever they want without logic" explanation.😁. Happy watching!
The more I think about it, the more I feel Mr. Jia is the emperor. Jia means "family." Chinese Emperors and empresses always referred to their subjects as their "children."

ML and Prince Ning are hunting on Prince Ning's estate ground which is safe. FL goes on foot to areas border the estate. Obviously, the estate is protected by steep mountains and dense forest for privacy...just like modern celebrities' homes on cliffside, oceanside, or in forest. Prince Ning orders her execution because she is borderline trespassing, but ML comes up with a silly excuse to save her.
Mu Dan is such a wonderful human being. She's empowering ShengYi by teaching her new skills to be more independent and confident. She treats her as an equal in their business and that it's totally fine to ask questions. When ShengYi wasn't confident about learning accounting, Mu Dan said that it was to help Mu Dan out so that ShengYi would be more willing to learn. I would love such a friend in my life.
Can't wait for all of ML's friends to start questioning and teasing him, especially it sounds like whoever this Mr. Jia is, enjoys listening to stories. They all have "nicknames", so could Mr. Jia be the emperor?
It's hilarious how Chang Yang's friend Mr. Third wants to check out Mu Dan. Mr. Third knows Chang Yang well enough that ML would never lightly "assist" a female, and keeping her close to home, whatever ML's lame reasons are. =P.
In the beginning of the episode I don't know why but I just smiled even though they aren't (yet) a couple lol
Yup, they have great chem. You'd just know something good is going to happen when they show up together on screen. I just sit back and watch what kind of tricks she's pulling, and how he's going to give in without seeming too obvious. 😍
We have an ingenious play on words again!!
Yu= fish
Yue= moon
