Soon Soo will probably not appear anymore: http://www.soompi.com/2015/03/11/lee-tae-im-ends-up-leaving-my-heart-twinkle-twinkle/
It seems they really want to 'let this go', thus the 26 episodes and not 30. And by the looks of it, they've already decided what to do with the storylines. Well, at least there's planning and we're getting an ending. Whatever that might mean.
SBS has canceled the 9pm timeslot (where Family is Coming was airing) and now they're only keeping this one (the 10pm slot) to air Divorce Lawyers in Love. Let's root for that drama. SBS really needs something to go right.

So it's going to end on episode 26? Man, this is just. I feel so bad for the whole crew and cast. People who are probably working day and night to make this all happen on time.
Idk if it's ironic or not, but Wild Chives and Soybean soup also ended at 26 episodes, after being cut short from 50. Poor Lee Tae Im.
So many people are loving this... I don't get it. Not that I don't get the show. I don't get how people are liking…
To be honest, I started to like it once I accepted it's never going to be a masterpiece nor bring 'standard' good quality to the table.
Sometimes there are dramas we come to like due to their 'trashy-ness'. Yeah, this is my trash drama I can't help but watch. And I say it with trashy love.
is this drama worth watching ? I love jang hyuk but I heard he was annoying in this drama is it true ?
If you love him, then watch this drama. He's one of the three main characters and he's doing a pretty good job. If the 'annoying' rumours you heard were because of his laugh - he doesn't even do it that often here, anyway. So it's your call.
The only experience I have with Asadora is with Amachan. I've seen about 13 or 14 episodes and it's very slice of life and lively. I reckon this one is more on the biographical side.
I keep seeing rumors that this is going to be cut to 30 episodes, but no articles. If anyone finds one, please…
LOL, Passionate Love was something else ;) After a certain point, I just made fun of everything. The writer totally lost control of that one. The ending was AT LEAST consistent with the mess that was created, though ahah
Only Lee Tae Im knows what happened and how she truly feels. Let's not forget to mention that her last drama, Wild Chives and Soybean Soup, was also canceled half way through. Her previous drama before that had been in 2010. I actually thought she was doing more movies than TV but not really. I can understand her frustration, her fear, desperation. Not excusing her behaviour, since the other girl was not at fault for this, but like you said, actresses are into so much pressure to succeed. It's truly a jungle. Let's hope she's okay.
You know, despite makjang having such a bad rep, it's actually one of the most addictive genres, if done right. I don't mind being into a ride like this, if I'm actually involved with the story. I don't know if I would stick around this one if we still had the 50 episode run.
It's okay to love a good villain and BSB is actually rocking this role. But the writing doesn't match his quality and that shows.
I really thought it was going to be GYS, not HD that went crazy after the breakup...and I was wrong. Why, writers?…
I don't find Se Ro all that different, tbh. She simply evolved. She's still the girl who speaks her mind and lets everyone know. I was hoping we would get more of her struggle of being left alone, growing up in a broken family, but we only got a few scenes here and there. She developed and understood she probably will never feel at ease around her parents, who basically never cared for her.
Regarding her and Doo Soo, making her slowly step aside and almost give up on him shows she isn't the girl who first arrived in Korea and started to follow him around. Sure, she's still hoping he stops her from going to America again, but she seems calmer now and more aware.
About the rest of the characters and the vulgarity of the last episodes, I agree with you.

I like your reasoning a lot concerning the whole thing. The drama doesn't have that many surprises in store, but sometimes these family/weekenders can be really heartwarming. This one kinda fails at that, as well. There's no comfort, even with the sisters. We just feel there's this big injustice that will get resolved at the end, but I'm not rooting for anyone except for Soon Jin. Secretary Goo and his one sided love will probably be useful when SJ runs away from Woon Tak. He's loyal to her more than anything, despite his previous close relationship with his boss. He has a conscience, which is something Woon Tak doesn't.
I actually find Nam Bo Ra a decent actress, but not with this sloppy writing nor with such a front and center role. I was wishing Jang Shin Young would get more to do as the character develops and I'm not disappointed at all. She was brilliant in the scene where SJ founds out about the clone phone and everything afterwards. Bae Soo Bin is killing it, but like I've said on a different comment, the character's so untrustworthy and frankly creepy. For a villain, the character fits all the criteria but unfortunately at this point, I don't care if he ever gets redemption. LOL, the phone clone thing was SO messy indeed. There are many things I notice during the episodes but I end up forgetting. It's not exactly a polished work in terms of making sense. The 3 year jump was totally just for Soon Jung. It made SJ even more clueless, but I think the drama overall got better after that.
I'm guessing she'll lose the baby AND leave the house/him? Now with less episodes, maybe they'll speed it up. She'll lose the baby, not get back him with and he has to accept his sins eventually.
I'm actually getting a little concerned for Lee Tae Im's safety. I read that she's sad with her life and sad with this drama (and apparently she's disappointed with everything in her life). I hope she stays safe.
I don't think they'll add episodes after cutting it. Well, Passionate Love (a similar drama to this. Weekender, SBS, plenty of makjang for everyone) got cut from 50 to 45 and then ended at 47. Lets keep it at 30 and put it out of its misery in a decent way :)
It's so ironic that SBS said they wouldn't make any more makjang dramas and then they come up with this. Can't get anymore exaggerated, lets be real.

According to Viki, 14 episodes have aired. Episode 15 airs tomorrow and 16 next week. That's my understanding.
(doesn't matter now though :c)

Episode 14 hit a new low in ratings. Sigh. I just feel bad for everyone, really.
