Objectively, 8.0 is not low. It's just too low for your preferences.
You are correct that the leads have terrific charisma and we should be able to get past the imperfections while still enjoying this romcom. But viewers had to lower their expectations after the outstanding initial episodes, and the rating reflects that.

Too bad MDL ratings or critical comments will never move the needle. The studios & streamers only care about actual viewership numbers. And it would seem that having pretty actors has always been more important to drawing viewership than quality storytelling.
