maybe pepper. Pepper was the black gold in Asia in the past
In Europe and Asia, for 800 years pepper was worth its weight in gold.

the Ming envoy's lacefront is crazy.
Does he play with the toy boat he wears on his head during bath time?

Every time I see BAYM I read it as Bam! Like Chef Emeril Lagasse used to say in his cooking shows BAM!
Fitting! ๐Ÿคฃ

There is an IRL inverse-correlation between very-high-IQ & very-low-EQ such that many brilliant people are cold & uncaring. This explains why so many tech companies actively seek to recruit them. It has been said that there is less than 1% difference between a sociopath and a successful CEO (or fixer).

But there also exists a percentage who choose use their smarts for good, despite their low-empathy. The phrase "Never underestimate the power of weaponized autism" applies to these individuals. They have cultivated a learned-empathy as a substitute for natural innate EQ.

I prefer shows which present the latter types as they confront trying to identify what it must be like for average humans (eg Leverage) and eschew the ones which merely focus on anti-heroes using their skills to take down other villains (Hustle, Confidence Man JP, and this.)

I think PMY is doing a terrific job with her performance which really does expand her range, but I am not finding any reason to care about her character or where this is going. Still, I hope the show does well. But I doubt I'll make it through to the end. Or even the next episode.

Title Confidence Queen Spoiler
It's too funny, I knew they were pretending about James being in the hospital, her back story looks very interesting,…

Just want to say that I ignored this show at first because I am disinterested in legal office drama, but kept…
I came back to add this is getting really creepy, which is not my vibe. Ugh. Watching has become a chore. And I have to keep pausing. I feel triggered by severe bullying, corporate takeovers based on IRL evil corporations, forced & dysfunctional relationships, psychopaths & animal abuse. Suddenly this no longer feels like "entertainment".

I'm amazed the writer had the courage to name the villain corporation Bluestone, which is an obvious allusion to an IRL corporation with a too-similar name. I'm scared even naming them in this comment. Please pray for the writer and for me! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Just want to say that I ignored this show at first because I am disinterested in legal office drama, but kept hearing good things so I gave this a try and am truly enjoying it. A unique script with realistic characters well-performed by terrific actors makes for an enjoyable k-drama experience. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The poster reminds me of the one for Reborn Rich (but with the generations reversed & a pistol.)

Is this production error actually newsworthy in SK? Or is the media just making a minor oopsie into a controversy?

"โ€ฆa key banner in the show, meant to read Tae Pyeong Seong Dae (ๅคชๅนณ่–ไปฃ), was incorrectly displayed."

"The last character, which should be โ€œ๋Œ€์‹ ํ•  ๋Œ€โ€ (ไปฃ, to mean an era or period in the banner) was mistakenly shown as โ€œํฐ ๋Œ€โ€ (ๅคง, to mean large). Viewers quickly noticed, with many taking to social media to voice their disbelief."

funny thing is that they all are havibg food orgasm after eating the food ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
It reminds me of the classic French film, 'Babette's Feast' (1987) about people accustomed to mere sustenance who are exposed to a delicious culinary experience prepared by an accomplished chef.

Splash splash love, Mr Queen, Rooftop prince, moon lovers
I recently rewatched Mr Queen, and my esteem for it grew even more than I had remembered. The script itself is outstanding (I won't say more so as to not spoil it for new viewers), as are the character performances. 10/10. I really hope someday to get to watch the two spin-off episodes (with subtitles).

He's not married, SFL is a concubine (his favorite probably), and yeah he might have more concubines
Not just to have his children. Concubines played an important role in providing comfort, pleasure, & a safe space for the emperor to drop his guard & relax. They help alleviate the constant tensions resulting from the demands of his position. And yes, he is expected to sire at least one heir and a spare, so to speak.

i'm going crazy what should i do in the next 4 days and 2 hours till the next ep? i've been too spoiled by cdrama…
Maybe try binging some K-reality cooking shows like Culinary Class Wars or Chef & My Fridge? These both are also on Netflix, are full of cooking drama, and the latter is also highly entertaining (very funny) at times.
