This is sadly very common on MDL. I got turned off by this behavior during "When the Phone Rings" after seeing too many comments about how kidnapping is sexy when the villain is hot. Inside thoughts, ladies. Shh!

A lawsuit could backfire. The defendant could subpoena GoldMedalist's records for Discovery and reveal (for example) that she really was a founding member or other evidence which would negate the lawsuit and create an even worse PR crisis for him. And then a countersuit would win.

Innocent until proven guilty only applies to a court of law, not in the court of public opinion.

He initially denied ever dating her at all before admitting he dated her when she was 19. So it's already been established he is a liar and it won't be surprising as additional truths are revealed.

Wasn't it revealed in episode 1 that Iida Kumiko is a Tenguuji heir? Then the subject was dropped and I kept expecting it to resurface, but it never did. I'm expecting this to be the big reveal in episode 9.
