Very Interesting article I would have never thought that the title of Boys over Flowers was wrong (hana being the only word I know in japanese I always thought is was accurate ^^") I think when you watch a lot of shows at one point you unconsciously realize that flawed title logic and learn to trust other aspect above the title. I also think that they some time purposely translate it wrong to differentiate it from other shows especially for those C-show that would all end with "something love" title But even if English title are bad they are they are better than french one ! One time I had my viki account that logged in french and got the french translation of the English title I almost got a heart attack it was more than bad ! One last think I really don't understand is the need for netflix to change the English title I mean how did Just between lovers become Rain or Shine ? and Why ?
The PPL that I can't bare are the APP one especially in C-drama I remember skipping all the scenes of them playing their app games in You are my Hero. Almost every character had a scene where they would explain the others how to play an app game it was really annoying
I personaly really liked the friends to lovers trop from Fight for my way, even if we do have a part of I'm gonna ruin your new relation because i'm jealous at one point it is very quickly overcomed by the male lead catch phrase : "Would you please stop meeting jerks !" that explains his shift of interest and beginning of interference ^^
Nice quizz ! I never read the the reviews and it was fun to see how some dramas are negatively described. I've got 7/12 all the wrong answers were on shows that I didn't watched ^^
I don't quite know if I am admirative or find you crazy XD , to be honest my PTW list is also a small monster with around 300 titles but my On Hold too ^^" and I would never be able to force myself to complete them. I did try to pick some with random generators but in the end cannot get myself to start the watch... I think I am too moody as a watcher. Anyways nice article that gave me the feel <3
Thank you so much for the article ! it made me reflect deeply on myself and I now realized that I was influence by this presentism which leads me to have a hard time watching historical drama, i'm okay with periods one but the political one gets too much for me (I loath the characters and decision making) I think I will try again and this time get rid of my modern time / romantism expectations ^^
Thanks for the follow up article it was indeed a pitty that C-drama were misrepresented in last article ^^ This is my C-drama top 10 : 1.The Long Ballad 2.You Are My Glory 3.Love O2O 4.You Are My Hero 5.Legend of Fei 6.Sweet Tai Chi 7.Lucky's First Love 8.Eternal Love of Dream 9.Professional Single 10. I Hear You
They are mostly pretty recent as I switch to C-drama in the last years only. It's also funny how YangYang and Dilraba are topping my top 3 !
I really enjoyed reading your article ^^ Personally I do try to step out of my confort zone especially when I'm in a slump like right now ... I recently started Sweet Home although horror / apocalypse genre are not my thing and watched several C-drama fantasy (I still don't know if they are wuxia or else so will not use the expert terms XD) like Legend of Fei and Eternal love of Dream (that I started only for Dilraba) and absolutly adored them But sadly I don't think I am ready for thai dramas or lakorns, the language still hurt my ears (I feel like they are always shouting) and the ones I tried had really too many harsh scenes for me. I will still put Duang Jai Nai Montra in my watchlist if one day I am ready to give it a try =)
I don't know if it's my internet but it seems you're facing issues with the photos the first ones were blurry and then there were not loading half way through :( otherwise love the idea of the article ^^ my favorite power is definitively He is psychometric <3 , it has been one of the most original power i've seen so far and I really loved Jin young's character
i'm also currently watching the drama and I'm in love with it ! it will definitely land in my top 3 drama of 2021. At first I was disturbed by the transition to manhwa , it seemed like a cheap trick to avoid filming the difficult action scenes but went over it as we still have lots of live combat scenes and the animation is very pretty ! Can't wait for the next episodes to air ^^
This is sooooo true ! I was fist infected by the japanese Dc throught Anime manga to live version and made a recovery for 4 year due to shortage but then made a relapse with the korean DC and was infected by the chinese one recently after a kdrama slump, there is no cure !
I'm gonna tell you a secret my friend, there is a way of getting out of this watching addiction : replace it by another one ! I've been through these stages for anime watching during my middle school years then american TV shows during my teen years and then feel into dramaland ! the good thing is that you skip the fear stage and denial is you transition period before you realize you definitively fell for it ^^"
I actually started to watch this drama especially because of the similarities with DOTS and I am very happy that it can stand on it's own charm despite so common plot elements between the two. I really like that the romance seems slow burn as in between work life scenes but is still growing as misunderstanding are resolved quickly and there is no useless drama, the leads really are clueless about this new relationship which makes them so cute <3<3 Editing between scenes and long focus on couples doesn't bother me very much but I do feel you for the ending scenes that are very abrupt and forces me to wait for the end of the weeks release to bing watch few episode in a row u.u
I think I'm a mixte between Asian Wanabe and Drama Google ^^
