What the hell even happened in the last episodes?? They just broke up Rini and Kyungjoon, for an issue they could have solved together if they tried btw, and gave them no closure whatsoever, and introduced a new couple pretty much out of nowhere. I mean yea they built up something by constantly mentioning Minho's character's good looks and lack of dating history, but that storyline shouldn't have come in the way of actually finishing the story arc for one of the main couples we watched for much longer.
I really have some beef with the writing in this drama, ugh. Sh*tty communication all around, it seemed like most of the time Yumi and her partners could solve like 99% of their problems if they just talked about them like adults. Instead Yumi doesn't handle her feelings well and she doesn't communicate clearly about them either. I genuinely feel bad for Babi and Woong, it seems they have both been unnecessarily dragged along by Yumi. I hate that all these relationships are such a mess, because I really like the Cells and I think the concept is really fun and cool. Too bad the story isn't very good, both of the seasons have left me feeling really unsatisfied :/
Also who else thinks that Yumi 100% overreacted when she broke up with Babi the first time? Like he was always legit a perfect boyfriend up until that point, and we are all human, humans have feelings and you can't control feelings, only your actions. Even though Babi experienced some fleeting feelings or a small crush on someone other than Yumi, he never acted on those feelings because he genuinely loved Yumi. He only wanted to be with her and no one else, but it seems that a partner having ONE single fault is too much for Yumi so she dumped him ://
At the end of s2 they teased a new man entering her life and I honestly almost hope they won't make another season because I can't take this nonsense anymore. I was disappointed after season one's nonsense breakup, and started season 2 in hopes they would do better this time, and I was disappointed again. It's extra sad and disappointing because this drama and its concept (the cells) had so much potential, like this drama could have become one of my all-time favourites if they didn't butcher the story and relationships like this.
Sure this show is a mess but I don't see this being a mess because of age gap issue. FL is acting immature even…
5-8 years is not that big of an age gap IF both people involved are over 25. Human brain keeps on developing still in the early to mid 20s. So a 23yo is in a VERY different place both mentally and in stage of life than a 30yo. I am not calling 30yos old, I'm simply saying a 23yo is most of the time too young to date people in their 30s, because of the brain development issue. Also a 23yo is just beginning their adult life, and a 30yo is already a well established adult which can cause a power imbalance. My biggest issue however is the fact that the FL was very immature and child-like even for a 23yo, which gave me gross vibes when so many grown men were going after her. Either way we can agree to disagree.
First, a disclaimer that I really like and respect Holland! This show however was kiiiind of bad, but in a very endearing way xD The filming location was pretty and the actors did an okay job (Holland was cute haha), but the editing and the story were a bit messy even if the premise was good.
I loved this drama during the first half. I loved the cells, and I loved the relationship between Yumi and Woong. However especially in the last few episodes everything went downhill fast because neither of the leads could communicate to save their lives!!! I always HATE when dramas use miscommunication as a big plot device to create unnecessary drama where there's none. They were so happy together, they could still have been in the end if they only TALKED to each other honestly about how they feel!! So frustrating, because pretty much all of their issues could have been solved but they were too darn proud and stubborn to even try. The final breakup was a very unsatisfying ending for me, neither of them really got closure or any explanation. Also I found it really weird how fast Woong went from first lifting Yumi to be his #1 priority to suddenly wanting to end the relationship?? That's a huge plot hole for me. I'm hesitant to start watching season 2 because I'm so scared I'll end up disappointed again. Especially since apparently Yoo Babi seems to be the male lead in it?? He was an ok character, but also kind of bland and I didn't get any chemistry between him and Yumi.
It seems this isn't available on Viki anymore? I tried to look for it through the Viki link above ("Where To Watch") and also I tried to search it on Viki's search bar but found nothing ): I wanted to watch all three Flower Boy dramas (Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, Flower Boy Next Door and this one) but apparently I can't watch this one, rip
I see there's the tag "rape", how severe is it and how much does it affect the story? It's one of the tags that I always absolutely try to avoid but this drama seems very sweet and I'd probably put it on my PTW if it wasn't for that tag :/
Ehh, I guess it's a good way to pass the time at least. I agree, the amount of bedroom scenes were too much and…
I wasn't even expecting anything deep haha :D I usually really enjoy simple romcoms, but this one was still a little bit underwhelming for me and I found myself getting bored, but yeah that's just my personal opinion ^^"
This drama was okay, it was VERY fast-paced, everything happened quite quickly, but still this managed to be a bit boring. Also they had wayy too many sex scenes, like usually I have no problem with intimate scenes and sex scenes whatsoever, but if you have one or two of them in every episode, they kinda start to lose their meaning.
I tried to watch this back in 2016-2017, usually I'm all over dramas where the girl pretends to be a man (Coffee Prince is one of my all time faves), but this one was such a snooze fest. That's why I put in "on hold" back then, thinking "oh maybe I'll have the strength'/motivation to finish this some day". It has now been "on hold" for almost 5 years, so you could say its status changed to "dropped" somewhere along the line lol . The drama was so boring I can't remember anything about the plot, and trust me when I say that I don't normally drop dramas without finishing them. This just left no impression on me whatsoever, even though I really like Park Bogum.
I'm at the point in this drama (ep.10/11?) where at first things finally started to look bright, but then that awful army general dude escaped from prison and basically started to hunt the main leads for sport, and thus started this corruption storyline that's boring me to death. I'm really struggling to finish this drama. I've had it on hold for weeks now because I'm not sure if I want to continue it, and I just want to ask, is it worth finishing?
Why would they make a boy play a girl’s role ...come on where did all the little girls have gone
I saw on twitter that they casted him because the lead actress looked just like him when she was a child, and they wanted family resemblance for the mother and daughter characters
I was super disappointed by this drama. I had heard many people praising it, and it has like 9.7 stars on Viki. However the first 6 episodes or so were SO BORING. I almost dropped the whole drama simply because I was so bored. Around episode 8 or 9 things actually started to get interesting, and from that point onward the plot was just okay. However around the last 3 episodes it got really boring yet again. I struggled to finish this, during some scenes I didn't even pay any attention to what was going on because the scenes were that uninteresting. And to add, the ending was really lackluster and underwhelming. They left a ton of loose ends, including what happened to some of the villains and to the female lead's family. They didn't even really tell how the couple ended up living or if either of them achieved their dreams. They actually didn't give any of the characters much closure now that I think about it. However, the acting was good and the soundtrack was too, so I rated it 7.5. I took points off because the middle part should not be the only enjoyable part of a drama.
I watched this a few years ago and I just gotta say this is one of the absolute worst dramas I have ever seen, I'm still not over it. And I've seen almost 80 different dramas by now. The female lead is terrible, first of all she's only obsessed with the male lead because of his looks, which makes her really shallow. She's also childish and a complete doormat with no self-respect whatsoever. She literally obsesses over him so much that her whole world revolves around him. And don't even get me started on the male lead, he was just a coldhearted jerk who in my opinion never really loved the female lead, since he literally never stopped treating her like garbage. He kept walking all over her, and the worst part is that she was happily letting him do so, over and over again. If you value your time and sanity, don't watch this drama. It's not worth it.
