I believe it’s part of caricature style comedy that is common in many kdramas. They take an idea and exaggerate it to get a certain effect. it’s certainly not for everyone! I happen to be enjoying it now, but it took me a while to get into it.

I agree though it needed to be shown and developed more for us to buy in… they were “suddenly” on the same page and dating without much build up. I wonder if it’s because the original was so much longer?
