On the strength of the first 5 eps, I would say they have done a great job on cinematography, acting, and plot rewrite. Except for the major modification of the book on identity swapping, I think this drama has been entertaining so far. I like the new storyline compare to the book because it gets to the point a lot faster. More exciting!
Dramatic opening ... Bai Yun Mo learned from his mistake with Royal Feast - the color palette is so much better! Very beautifully filmed. More like a movie ... Wow ... J Chen is so good for this role. Soundtrack is also good!
I see what you meant. I think there is a misunderstanding when you made the first statement. Fans on this platform can be sensitive. Your statement sounded like Wu Jin Yan should be replaced by Yang Chao Yue. I am not saying you said that but that might have been misconstrued.
I think there is also an overwhelming frustration with this actress Yang Chao Yue ... at least for me. But of course, I wouldn't curse her. I just give feedback so hopefully she can improve her acting ...
I hate to say that there is nothing "bashing" if I am giving facts. Fact #1: she is beautiful Fact #2: she cannot act - and I can give proofs. "Who are we to bash"???? We are the audience! We have a right to say who is not a good actors and why. And btw, you are the one who first question the decision of the director/producer by asking why this actress is not the main lead!!!
Antis on here do make multiple accounts and lower ratings that's for sure however I have to disagree that this…
Don't worry about the rating. I think it's not equating to anything except the drama doesn't fit into a generic taste. I have liked dramas in the 7s. I think being a fan also means giving honest rating to a drama because that would give a feedback to the people who make the drama ... to let them know if they are off. Sometimes the drama has nothing to do with the actress/actor ... but the story, the director, etc ...

Top actors sometimes don't equate to good dramas or plots. Of course, this is just personal opinion because everyone likes different things. I started watching this with honest interest. But it didn't capture it. I am not a fan or anti fan ... I am just looking for solid dramas to watch.
I seriously don't understand this at all. She is so talented and everything she's in is a success because of her…
To get invited to "fans" events, she would need fans who are willing to spend money. BWS already has fans because 1) he sings in the drama 2) he's a male idol This always happens in the idol world. It's so unfair for women who have to work harder than men.
What makes this rom-com THE BEST of its genre (I included this in my review) This rom-com is a MUST watch. I think it's as good as Crash Landing on You. Queen of Tears is also good, but it has too much vengeful conflicts and repetitions. This is a true nostalgic rom-com ... This couple is natural - doesn't feel forced like the acting as shown in the QofTears' couple.
1) The main leads have chemistry. The way they look at each other ... the way they enhance each others' appealing qualities. Everything just works for them. Regardless of budget, famous actors, plot, etc ... if the actors don't have chemistry, the drama fails. This couple - not the most handsome and beautiful - has the best chemistry - they have charms. And they bring out the best in each other. The director gives enough time for the couple to develop chemistry.
2) The plot - ok typical time travel plot - but it's so nostalgic and the filming of the past looks so retro and pretty. The director knows how to make the audience feel nostalgic. The filming of the rainbow scene, for example. So beautiful and cute to watch! And the use of colors in the retro scenes - so perfect ... her yellow umbrella and his blue umbrella - so beautiful and symbolic.
3) The humor - classic irony and just typical humor that makes you laugh - it's old but whatever works! The humor just has its classic charms. I can't help but laugh out loud ... Humor doesn't have to be sophisticated, it just has to fit the situation.
4) The suspense - you really root for the couple because they are so believable. The key is the director and chemistry make you care for them. This is what makes a good crime drama ... not showing everything ... physical abuse and violence are so trendy right now. In a rom-com, it would be too much to mix in physical violence. I think this was executed perfectly by the director.
5) The poetic justice - the resolution at the end just ties everything up nicely. He got what he would have given his victims.
