I agree with you. But in a way, FL is also taking responsibility for being a mean boss in this situation by not firing her. So I guess in real life, if I were FL, I would also be lenient.

I see many people bashing the FL ... I think it's understandable because the main conflict of the story is the FL's difficult personality. She has anxiety and self-esteem issues due to her family relationship with the grandfather/aunt. You can see clearly even at a young age, she couldn't explain well or even given the chance to do so (ie gift to her grandfather). Her personality was partially shaped by her family experience.
She grows as the story develops. I think after 19, the story becomes more interesting as she started to change based on her experiences. The ML didn't give up on her because essentially, she's a good person ( although not an ideal GF at first): she doesn't do illegal things, she makes sacrifices for people, and you know you can count on her help.
In real life, I have seen women like this FL ... very demanding and difficult but the partners still put up with them because they see qualities that I obviously missed.
But she does have issues with treating people with empathy. Again she will grow ... if she's perfect, we will have nothing to talk about.
For me, this story is watchable (although with some plots and character development issues). It is watchable because the ML CXX is a good actor. I remember that I thought in one really cringy scene that wow, if the acting isn't natural and good, it would have been very difficult to continue. He delivers the scenes charmingly but very watchable.
The weakness of this story is that the writers make some unconvincing storyline but it's saved by good acting. So I would say, it's a watchable drama. However, if you cannot stand unreasonable, unempathetic female leads, then I would say drop the story.

You can skip until 18 and up ... the story gets more interesting.

Regardless, I don't like it when other people do illegal things and then blame others. People can never improve if they don't admit their mistakes and keep blame others. As you said, she can quit instead making it worse for others. I think she should be fired. This way she will learn her mistakes and take responsibility.

Any rumors on the release date? Usually how long after the release of MV? Can't wait to watch. I think both actors will do so well in this drama. It looks like they have good chemistry in the MV.

I think as long as you have logical explanation/discussion/reason instead of just badmouthing, it's a valid post. No one wants to see negative comment without a reason. That's just my take on posting - it needs to be informative, not attacking for no reason. Some people are doing this ... ie. they would be saying things like "ALP is way better" ... well, for people like me who haven't and not planning to watch it, it isn't helpful. It would be nice to say ALP is better because .... or could say something helpful like explaining that ALP would make the plot easier to understand ... this is value added to this forum.

Context: Finished watching ... fan of Lusi ... couldn't handle Ancient Love Poetry (sorry no hate to anyone but I don't like Xianxia. The only one I could watch was Eternal Love with YangMi)
1) Chemistry was 9.0 - WAY & ZL are both youthful - very convincing - and shows love for each other with longing looks (I just wish that they give more time to develop the interactions - I find the scenes disconnected sometimes - they were kissing and then the next scenes - what happened? again it's about couple interaction- director problem)
2) Acting from all cast- 9.0
3) Screen play / plot holes (5) - convoluted (again I didn't watch ALP so I have some confusion) - sometimes abrupt transitions
4) Director (5) - the way it was film and presented - no wow factor - LLTG was way better in artistic presentation
5) Costumes decent (9)- the peacock has the best costumes
6) Ending (9)- it's fine (could be better) with me ... don't have to drag on and show everything. I mean how obvious do you need it to be? It's very clear to me ... the sword is back what else do you need as a confirmation?

Overall: I could make it to the end not because of ZL but it was entertaining after ep 10 where he suddenly realized that she's the one ?? just like a step function. As I said, the director is not very artistic ...
I gave it a 9.0 because it's the 2nd Xianxia that I made it to the end -

I think it's watchable compared to other dramas ... but if you don't enjoy, just drop it.

From the title, I thought it would be about singing .... not family violence and abusive relationships ... the abusive dad story breaks the mood. The story is not focused. To many stories and not enough about the Diva. I don't like to watch abusive stories so this is not my type of drama.

I find it very difficult to connect with the characters and their love story as adults because they don't spend enough together as a couple.

I can't connect with her as a singer either because the singing story is not continuous and distracted by other stories about family.

I don't like the abusive story, which becomes the main theme of the story, instead of her story. The title is Castaway Diva so I wish there is more development in her singing and love story between the main leads ...

Totally agree ... I didn't sign up for this drama because of all these side characters that have nothing to do with the FL's singing career. I had to fast forward these scenes that are repetitive .. and stressful to watch.

Thank you for letting me know ... I don't follow Netflix shows so am not aware. I guess it also makes sense to attract more audience with subplots. It's a catch-all kind of drama. I am little burned out from watching K drama. Only come back to watch this show because of the FL ... she's a phenomenal actress!

I agree ... but these murders and secondary plots just ruin the story ... I don't know why Korean dramas have to inject these overly dramatic secondary stories when the main story about her is already so interesting. It just looks like a netflix story with sensational plots about violence. I feel it distracts and takes away the time for the development of her story.

Her story with the boar is so fun to watch ... so I hope they will expand more about her life.
Well we will have more action next week ... hopefully, her singing career will get started then.

I wish this drama is more about her journey to achieve her dream rather than about a psychotic dad and finding Ki-Ho ... disappointed in the plot.
