I guess I'm the odd duck because I love longer dramas, especially if they're Chinese Historicals. I don't know…
yess, chinese historical dramas are also my fave. I also skip dull parts, which makes it go a lot faster. But we're still getting the general idea of what happened right? lol. And I agree abt the rewatching thing, I once even talked to my friend abt ongoing dramas and she said she likes them bc she can appreciate it more, but I cant handle waiting or watching multiple dramas at once so ehh.
lmao i'm ONLY a binge watcher in that I don't even bother starting ongoing dramas bc I hate waiting and I like to watch as many dramas as I can and move on to the next drama. But sometimes after I finish watching a 60 episode chinese drama in about a week's time and I think back on it (if it was a very good drama) I get sad bc it went by too fast and I miss the characters alreadyyy
my goodness, i'm super picky when it comes to xianxia dramas but this was BEYOND my expectations! The CGI was extraordinary and didn't make the drama cringy to watch (a main reason I don't watch most older xianxia dramas), the cast nailed the acting, and the way the plot unfolds is amazing. I was regretting not having started watching it earlier.
Based on the trailer, I think that Jing Yi really suits the role of a beautiful white snake spirit. And I'm not used to seeing Alan yu as the main lead, so I'm excited to see him in this.
the original actor is korean. shortly after season 2 got green lit there was some political turmoil b/w South…
Yep, I think she has been in a lot of historical dramas recently so that's probably why. Those dramas are reaaally long and must take a bunch of time to film.
I'm wondering if every chinese dramas are pretty much the same now. This drama felt like almost-copy of "With…
I think what screenwriters are trying to do is provide content that is familiar with viewers. They know that previously shows with similar content gained positive feedback so they would want to place their bet that they can release something similar. It's a good way to make money, and the youth can easily relate to the plot as well. Besides, all stories take ideas from other stories.
also something else entertaining is that I think that Ingot is named so because chinese Ingots/Sycee or 元宝 (yuanbao) was the gold and silver used during imperial china, and yuanbao the hamster is a golden yellow color too :D
omg theres a drama for this!? guys, the novel is very good, please give it a read! And it's fully translated as well :) I hope this will be somewhat on par to the novel
Honestly doubt they would be able to come up with a good plot for a season 2, everything tied up pretty well in the end, though the ending was a bit lacking..
Episodes can be found on the same channel.
Here is the link to chapter 1. Also, I personally think reading on a mobile device was easier than using a computer.
I hope this will be somewhat on par to the novel
