It fits perfectly with her character though. She’s been consistently trying yo survive since the start and fight…
I completely agree. Even in the first episode , the family is discussing about sending the daughter to her in-laws to be burried alongside her dead husband - it comes off as if the discussion is about her going to boarding school or something . The seriousness of the situation is not conveyed at all Direction is totally off for me .
Loved everything about this drama . Acting, direction, cinematography, the story, the suspense . You can tell that it's made with lot of care. Yes, the drama did drag sometime but then they needed to give space to each character to flesh them out as multidimensional. And for 40 epi drama I hardly every used the FF button. For me the blend of romance and crime was perfect . A rare drama indeed.
Re-watched it and enjoyed it through and through. You just can't get over Ji Sung's sexy avatar in this drama. But this time around I had to give it to the 2nd ML , such a fine actor . You don't expect this kind of a show to have great rewatch value - but the chemistry between the leads and all the characters keeps u hooked till the last moment - even the 2nd time .
Someone else claims it's a happy ending, can you go into more detail? How much soapy melodrama is there? I don't…
Depends on how you interpret it. It does not end with death but one of the lead has a terminal disease and they decide to take one day at a time - or something like that if I remember it correctly. For me it was painful to see Jang Hyuk's character suffering , therefore I classify it as tragedy. But it was still worth investing the time on this heartwarming story.
Having seen and liked more recent works of Lee Joon Gi and Jung Kyung Ho, was excited to see them together in this drama and twas not disappointed. Although IMO JKH seemed to be too young for this role and chubbier version of LJG was yet to discover his swagger that I loved in Lawless attorney. But I was pleasantly surprised by the FL, Nam Sang Mi. Very natural , understated acting, would like to see more of her work . The premise reminded me of Cruel city , and although Cruel city was better paced and stylish, story wise , I liked this one better . Only negative was the ending , could have been better . The drama is definitely worth a watch , for the plot and the strong main and supporting cast. 8/10
Loved it more as a legal drama , than as a romance. Wish the romance was a wee bit more intense , lacked the emotional connect in the later episodes. Still very good. Very refreshing to watch a strong, give a damn, female lead, very well supported by the handsome and able male lead.

I am trying to steer clear of tragedies these days and this is a tragedy with a bittersweet ending. But if you have a stronger heart and don't mind the slow pace , this story stands out from the rest. It's a story of love , of redemption, forgiveness, 2nd chances with Jang Hyuk at the center . I liked the FL too but I loved the little girl the most.
This drama was elevated by it's OST. Loved the humor , quite a few laugh out loud moments in the show . Loved Shin Dong Wook , as the character and the actor. The drama had a promising start , enjoyed the first few 5 to 6 episodes but then the scenes were repetitive and episodes dragged until the main leads meet . Let me say it again , sound track of this drama is the best and very relevant to the scenes.
This drama deserves high rating for it's sweeping epic feel , cinematography, and attention to details alone. I can see why so many people love the drama, but personally for me , it was too long , the pacing of the last 5 - 6 episodes was slow. If you know the history , you know that all the counter plotting against prince Syeong is for naught, knowing that it was hard to stay invested( I should have stayed away from wiki). The other problem for me was the romance, it was not very exciting , I blame it on the characterization of the FL, a Mary Sue kind of a character, just wasn't interesting enough. Now I did like the ML and will look fwd to his other projects , his character growth was well captured, from a easy going guy to a tortured soul to someone who finally finds his goal and eventually was at peace with his past, the actor did well to depict the transition. But I liked Shin Meyong 's conflicted self the most. Despite everything I was rooting for him . Shin Meyong's chemistry with the FL was interesting to watch , I wish they had made that relationship a little more complex.
My opinion till the last but one episode was that although the original Jdrama was edgier, darker and bolder , this drama held on its own almost till the very end. And the credit goes to the 2 male leads, especially Seo In Guk . He had a tall order to fill essaying the role played by Kimura Takuya in the original, but he did well to bring in the quiet intensity the role demanded. The script writer failed in the last episode , adding a twist to an already twisted tale was quite unnecessary and did not justify the actions of the characters in the previous episodes. 7.5 /10
What an intelligently written Rom com. Such talented and good looking leads with best chemistry ever. I loved the show and they saved the best for the last episode. A solid 9 for me.
I was avoiding this drama for a while , expecting it to be overrated but for once this one lived up to the hype. Binged through the 16 episodes in 3 days without pressing the ff button , quite a feat. Only the last episode was a roller coaster ride that I am not quite sure I enjoyed. But this drama is worth a watch . Both the leads are exceptional in this drama. And a shout out to Sang Man , loved him in every scene.
A very easy watch till the first 10 episodes. Starts to drag a little bit after the 12th episode. But it was totally worth watching it for the ML . JKH owned each and every scene that he was in. Now, the FL was most level headed character I have seen so far in KDrama and liked her for it . But I think the character needed a little more warmth in the last few episodes to make me believe in the romance. Overall, a memorable watch for Jung Kyung Ho alone.
Lovely cinematography, pleasant OST, good looking leads got me excited about the story. But here I am in 7th episode and finding it very hard to continue. The main problem is the forbidden love factor bordering on incest. while it's uncomfortable to watch some of these scenes , I can oversee them for the bigger plot had it been fast moving or exciting. But it's neither.
I am in 16th episode and it's a real struggle to keep watching. Going by the reviews the drama promised a matured love story, a strong female lead, intense chemistry and I was sold.
I quite enjoyed the first 10 - 12 episodes, the premise was quite interesting . But into the 12 or 13th episode , the love story lost it's steam, silent gazing , stolen glances doesn't make chemistry and more disappointingly, the strong female lead turned out to be a meek character after all. She was too passive for my liking. Just claiming that you are not a pushover every few episode doesn't make you a strong character . Ugh, Yoon Mi Jo wassimply annoying What stood out for was the OST . Also loved the rare smiles of I am in 16th episode and it's a real struggle to keep watching. Knowing the cliched premise, I did not have huge expectation from the show and it did not disappoint, until may be the last 2 episodes. Watched it for the leads, Son Ye Jin's acting prowess saved her character. Lee Min Jo, well , he's good looking and I think that was enough for me. Over all it was a nice romcom to binge through when you have nothing else lined up.
Both the leads are exceptional in this drama. And a shout out to Sang Man , loved him in every scene.
