That's right. Ppl are too focused on Song Kang.
Hypocrites? Call yourself one. Y'all hurt leaving the green flags as the second choice in Kdramas, but here comes Love Alarm and still prefer the red flag one? Also, try defending why it SHOULD BE Sunoh and not Hyeyoung? I bet, if someone like Song Kang or Yook Sungjae play his role, you'd be all over him. You are the one hypocrite for saying it is not bcoz of the looks, when it clearly is. Sunoh is NOWHERE good as Hyeyoung, not talking about the actor, and yet you still love the former. What does that imply? And y'all try to care about mental health and here comes Jojo but y'all overlook her mental health problem just bcoz your favored guy is at disadvantage. Your favored guy is the root of why he got that ending in the very first place. He was so self-centered since the very first episode of the season 1.

The Song Kang argument you Hyeyeong supporters use all the time is so shallow ISTG 🙄
You are the shallow one here. Will you please defend why Sunoh deserves better than Hyeyoung?
Even webtoon readers agree why Hyeyoung is THE one.

I just finished season 2 and let me just say this, love alarm is one of the most underrated dramas I have ever…
That's right. Ppl are too focused on Song Kang.
On Kim So Hyun Aug 13, 2024
Person Kim So Hyun
I loved Kim So Hyun since Missing You and my favorites are School 2015, Bring It On, Ghost, The Tale of Nokdu, and Love Alarm (yes, I did love the drama, though not her character here). I've been disappointed with her recent dramas since they weren't showing her real potential. Sohyun is one of the actors I've seen a lot in the industry, from her cameos to other dramas and to her leading ones. She's a versatile actress. Sohyun nails high school romance and historical dramas, but I hope she gets a fantasy drama as well ^^

So far, the actors she had the best chemistry with were Dongyoon (The Tale of Nokdu), Yook Sungjae (School 2015), Song Kang (Love Alarm, though I love Hyeyoung more), and Hwang Minhyun (My Lovely Liar). Looking forward to seeing her future drama with Park Bo Gum, I can see their overflowing chemistry together. How I wish that she gets another drama with Yook Sungjae once more (as a couple, jebal).

I haven't seen River Where the Moon Rises but some friends were recommending this to me. Gonna see it soon!

Thank you so much for commenting! 7 sounds good already to me, I'm happy whenever someone appreciates the drama…
I've seen almost all of Sohyun's acting and her strong chemistry with the actors is undeniable, however, I felt like Jung Garam is the least actor she had a great chemistry with. I liked her chemistry with Garam outside the drama when I watched their love alarm interview. I love how they interact with each other as actors, not as Jojo and Hyeyoung.

Nothing wrong with how you see their chemistry, I've met other Hyeyoung stans who liked their chemistry a lot ^^

I've been seeing Sohyun's acting skills since Moon Embracing the Sun and I really loved her in Missing You. But…
Oh yeah, i forgot that there was RWTMR.

I saw it for free on mangabuddy. You can search it on Google. I wanted to read it officially on the Webtoon, but it is only available for Koreans.

It is supposed to be 10 if they stick with the webtoon, it felt like the drama did the webtoon dirty. Jojo in the drama felt so flat and irritating, I like the Jojo from the webtoon. I think ppl just focused on the chemistry, unfortunately, Kim So Hyun and Jung Ga Ram did not have that much chemistry.

Some people are complaining about Kim Sohyun and they only watched some of her dramas. In general, kdrama fans,…
I've been seeing Sohyun's acting skills since Moon Embracing the Sun and I really loved her in Missing You. But what really made me so amazed by her acting was 'School 2015'. She can play two different roles at the same time, twins but she made it not difficult for us to differentiate them. After that, I've been fond of her acting until Love Alarm. Starting Love Alarm, her potential went downhill. Looking forward to seeing her next drama with Park Bo Gum.

There is a similar to what you are saying. It's "I Hear Your Voice" and the lead was Lee Jong Suk.
Given how versatile K-dramas and webtoons are, it is not impossible. Maybe we get that kind of plot in the future. ^^

Oh my! I was surprised you gave it 10/10 because I could only give it around 7. I was just disappointed with the production but the story?? Yes, it's realistic and has practical lessons to get. I thought I already understood the plot (since I watched the drama and read the webtoon), but after reading your review, I've seen and understood more.

Also, I can relate to you feeling personally attacked whenever somebody says that Love Alarm is trash because the production/ writer did Song Kang's character dirty. Can't help but question their kind of relationship that they want to be into. Their viewpoint is limited to Sunoh's but never considers the other characters, especially the female lead herself. Where did their "mental health awareness" and "character over appearance" mindset go? The double standard.

I understand where you are coming from but in this situation I feel like she did not even try... You said she…
I don't think it was. Most viewers were just too focus on Sun-oh without remembering that Jojo had an internal conflict. You said that internally troubled ppl like you don't want to hurt others, that's what Jojo thought she did. She thought that what she did was to protect Sun-oh, she just did not have any idea that she hurt the person.

That's why I like Hyeyoung bcoz he recognized Jojo's emotional-mental trouble and what made her uncomfortable, which Sun-oh did not even notice.

Or maybe So Hyun just really failed to portray what you wanted to see. She's my favorite Korean actress but I did not like how weak her acting skills were here. I just saw the webtoon that's why I'm trying to give her character justice.

Anyway, please take care of yourself.

Remembering this drama and the ability of the female lead is actually unique. She can know what is a lie and truth…

You are Sunoh-Jojo shipper, right? I'm a Hyeyoung supporter but I do understand your point and that's how I felt, too. It was very disappointing that the season 2 was not as impactful as the season 1. I like Hyeyoung, but I felt bad that his relationship development with Jojo felt rushed. The timeline was messed up, especially the last part of s1 not connecting to the beginning of s2. It could have been better.

The production did the webtoon dirty. T^T

TRY PUTTING YOURSELF IN JOJO'S SHOES NOT ONLY IN SUN-OH'S.Both Jojo and Sunoh were red flags, them together would…
Hyeyoung respected both Sun-oh and Jojo. When Sun-oh and Jojo were together, he stayed away and respected their relationship (even though he knew that Sun-oh knew he first liked Jojo). When Jojo was long single (it took LONG that she was single, but the drama failed to portray that), that's the time Hyeyoung made a move. He even opened that up to Sun-oh. He had the right to do so since Jojo was not in a relationship plus he liked her for a very long time already.

I understand Sun-oh's frustrations, but, he should still have respected Jojo and Hyeyoung's relationship like how Hyeyoung did before. But what did he do? He was in a relationship with Yuk-jo and yet he was forcing Jojo to love him again and kissed her twice without her permission (knowing that she was already dating Hyeyoung). Well, he did that before they dated too, right? Kissing a friend's crush. Why did you all fail to see that?

I love Song Kang, but Sun-oh shippers can never make me like Sun-oh. I feel bad for him, ofc, but I did not once like him. He was so full of himself. Aside from Jojo, I hate his character the most.

Though I admit, this drama does not deserve a very high rating. I'd give it 7 or 6.5/10. Season 2 was a mess, the production did not do well in executing the events and the timeline. The actors' chemistry (Garam and So Hyun) was not impactful. But rating it 4 or 3 or even below is not reasonable. The storyline makes a lot of sense and has a lot of meaningful lessons from it.

The webtoon is so good. It is 9/10 for me. The webtoon is loved by many readers and I'm one of them.

I like Garam too, but if there's another actor who could fit Hyeyoung's role and has immense chemistry with So Hyun, for sure ppl would go crazy about Hyeyoung getting the girl.

TRY PUTTING YOURSELF IN JOJO'S SHOES NOT ONLY IN SUN-OH'S.

Both Jojo and Sunoh were red flags, them together would never make it to the end. While Hyeyoung and Yukjo were green flags who love others without asking in return. Therefore, the latter two could balance the former two.

Jojo was a red flag for being tight-lipped and dumping Sunoh without explanation. She was also tight-lipped with Hyeyoung, too. This is why I felt like she did not deserve any of the two. BUT... we need to understand her situation (as I was saying, try putting yourself in her shoes). She had a traumatic past, was bullied, an orphan, an outcast both at home and school, and was betrayed by her only friend. She had trust issues and could not just be open to others, even for Sunoh. Ppl with mental health like that have behavior issues like Jojo. If there is one who was more selfish in this series is Sun-oh himself, but Song Kang x Kim So Hyun shippers failed to see that.

This drama/ webtoon is more than just a love triangle, it is a story of a broken girl overcoming herself in order to be honest and love completely. It is also about the negative impact of technology on our society, this is about organic feelings vs. technology-based feelings.
Replying to Isabeau71 Aug 5, 2024
It seemed that Jojo never cared for anyone's feelings but her own. Everything she did and did not do was so SHE…
And that's the point of the story: the love alarm app will never make you genuinely know if someone loves you or if you love someone. You yourself know and can determine it (decision making), thus why the spear was created = to make a decision.

Jojo rang Hyeyoung's app with and without the spear. The lesson is that Jojo was able to fall in love with Hyeyoung genuinely and found it out by herself without the help of technology.

This is what most viewers don't understand. But I'm telling you, the webtoon is loved by many readers bcoz it was easier to accept why it's Hyeyoung. This drama just ruined the webtoon. The execution sucked, and Jojo's demeanor here is different from the webtoon (Jojo from the webtoon is way livelier and not so annoying).

" like having a friend and all of a sudden that person just cuts you off no word" T___________T
This just reminds me of a friend of mine (a very close one and we lived in the same roof) who suddenly just stopped talking with me and treated me like I didn't exist in the house. I decided to leave her without knowing her issues with me. What I knew from others was that she was in depression.

You forgot that Jojo had a traumatic past. People like that always find it hard to communicate and open up to others. I've met tons of them, and they are truly hard to understand. I feel like they don't even try to help themselves and clear things up for the people who are affected with their behavior.

Jojo was clearly like that, and also their relationship started wrong from the very beginning so it was not that surprising that happened. She was not ready to begin with, her relationship before she met Sun-oh was also a failure.
On Love Alarm Season 2 Jul 18, 2024
I don't understand the double standard Kdrama viewers have. You all complain about a drama not following the webtoon or the nice guy ending up not being chosen, but here came Love Alarm season 2 breaking the common Kdrama logic and still you all hate it. *tsk tsk*
Replying to Soul Jul 18, 2024
Love Alarm was my very first Kdrama, and it's what kickstarted my love for the genre. I waited for the second…
I think the reason why it's divided into two seasons is to differentiate Sun-oh and Hyeyoung. It means, no one is actually a second lead here. Both Sun-oh and Hyeyoung are the first male leads. But I hope these two seasons were just made in a whole season. S2 felt like a completely different drama. (I don't have complains with the ending tho)
