Exactly. They are created to fill slots.

Do you really consider this plot to be unique? I don't think you fully understood my point, but I don't want to repeat myself. Many weekend dramas share similar storylines, just with different actors, which can make them feel a bit repetitive for viewers. Remembering the names of a larger group of characters is a hassle, so it's natural to prefer a drama with a smaller number of characters. Plus, character diversity is not limited to the number of characters. A drama can showcase vast diversity even with a smaller number of characters by making the characters multi-layered instead of one-dimensional. Some dramas tend to have no character growth regardless of the number of episodes, making it unlikely to choose based on this.

I don't understand why other international fans don't give a chance to 50ep Kdramas (I am from Greece) 50ep Kdramas…
First, many people want to stay up to date with entertainment trends. Second, I think you answered it yourself. People's busy lives often leave little time for them to unwind even with a movie. A shorter series provides a satisfying conclusion faster than a lengthy 50-episode drama, allowing them to move on to their next interest without missing a beat.

Well, he had to choose to be mean about it cause she was refusing to accept the answer otherwise.
Absolutely, that’s another point to consider.

That was also my initial thought. To be honest, this theory seems somewhat far-fetched, but I thought it could be an additional reason, so take it with a grain of salt. I find it questionable that JH would choose to ride with a group of people in a somewhat remote area, especially considering his involvement in volunteer work. Additionally, financial issues in a typical middle-class family keep arising to be addressed, and these are particularly expected to be handled by him, especially since he is not only the eldest child but also lives with his parents as a single adult. I doubt that these responsibilities, combined with his 9-to-5 job, would leave him with enough time for proper sleep, let alone for engaging in volunteer work, unless he shares the same motivation as Seong Jae to do so.

Yes, exactly. Her reaction places her character in a gray area instead of a clear-cut black and white. This could potentially create a loophole if the writers don’t address it later on. Was this just a typical outburst, or does this seemingly cheerful character carry a bit of darkness within her?

That and also a different actress as well. The current actress isn't the right fit for the character, even though…
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hiding from him is too much honestly, since getting rejected isn't the end of the world. I thought she would act indifferent towards him to show that he lost something special by rejecting her. This might make her look more pathetic in a normal person's eye but of course, since it's a K-drama, he would probably find it 'cute.'

Just a question...you dislike stories featuring older men with younger women...for this drama are you referring…
I typically view a decade or more apart to be considered as an age gap. Nonetheless, this term can refer to any age difference, regardless of whether it is minor or significant, between characters. In age-gap relationships, where both partners are over 30, they often express their attraction to one another in a mature manner and accept the situation responsibly. Yet, in this case, she is acting more like a stubborn child, throwing tantrums when she doesn't get the response she desires. This is particularly concerning, given that she is in her 30s, making her behaviour difficult to accept.

In average age-gap dramas, the younger character often brings a sense of fun and excitement that the older character's life lacks. However, the younger character is usually portrayed with a level of maturity that aligns with the older character's expectations, making them seem like a suitable partner. In this situation, she lacks both maturity and a genuine sense of fun. While some may argue otherwise, her attempts at being fun come across as forced, unlike the natural playfulness seen in younger characters in age-gap relationships. In the drama, it is clear that JH was a senior to EO in college, indicating that she is younger than him.

Oh, absolutely. I’m relieved because it’s difficult to accept that a seasoned actress would behave this way in a drama without it being scripted.

There was some hesitation in his rejection, which stood out to me. I remember Eun Oh mentioned in one of the episodes that she knows something about him that no other woman does, leading me to think she feels relieved that, no matter how many women he meets, he won’t settle down with anyone but her. I believe he knows this, too! Additionally, do you recall the scene where everyone is gathered for volunteer work? I don't think JH has enough time to participate, considering his family troubles and personal hobbies. In that scene, it’s clear that EO seems to be leading the volunteer campaign. I believe he wouldn’t make time for this if he didn’t like her. The same goes for Seong Jae, he participates in the campaign to project a good image in front of his crush and to spend more time with her.

It’s bound to happen. So they can confront each other about it and patch things up to be 'friends' once more. This time, though, the lines will get a bit blurrier, to set the arc for their budding romance in motion.

I don't believe their last interaction indicates a desire from either side to remain friends. It's clear that he likes her but doesn't want to reciprocate her feelings because he thinks his personal life is too messy and could complicate things for the poor girl in the long run. Therefore, he thinks it's better to be direct and end things rather than leave her with false hope by trying to stay friends afterward.

YHM doesn’t look 40 at all. When I first saw him in the drama, I thought he was no more than 36. In contrast, Jung Il Woo, who is 37, seems to look more like he’s in his 40s. Compared to YHM, JIW hasn’t aged as well. I agree with others who feel that the female lead should act her age, which is why I dislike stories featuring older men with younger women. Her character is already insufferable, and I find her acting unimpressive as well.

So this is how she acts, and I thought it might be due to how the character’s written. Let me summarise my experience with this drama, along with what I've observed from others. ML and FL have received largely negative feedback, while the supporting characters aren't a significant issue. The storyline is straightforward, making it easy for you to decide whether you want to watch (love triangle between best friends). Some viewers believe that a birth secret might be coming soon and it would be about FL. SML's step-mom is considered sus due to her step-children feeling uncomfortable around her presence.

Clingy and to what extent is the character's characteristic. I'm referring to her acting—whether she is the right actress for the role. If she were, she could have infused a comedic effect into the female lead's flaws to make her character more appealing to the audience. However, her performance, instead of being engaging, is rather off-putting.

That and also a different actress as well. The current actress isn't the right fit for the character, even though she's trying her best. And, the thing is that it's way too obvious in the drama, making it unenjoyable to watch.

no, you're not. I'm tired of half-sibling trope to cancel out sml from the picture.
