LYN does not even open up about this to her most trusted maid - she has told no one at all. i think her reasons are in part (a) wanting to forget and move on (remember how traumatized she was/is by the attempt on her life) and (b) how incredibly indecent them meeting was in the first place - if anyone finds out that is not completely on her side, the damage it will do to her reputation is immense und unrecoverable. especially for a women, there is such a risk in opening up about meeting a man she is not related with - they would marry her off and thats the last thing she wants

If we count the children we know of, it already makes no sense - we know of 4 male children (one of them has passed) and four female children, while also knowing that FL is the youngest (that is, assuming that the son of concubine qiao is older than her). it might also have to do with the changes they made from the novel, right? bc apparently LYN had an older sister in the novel who is not part of the drama - it is possible that the novel followed the "traditional" way of seperating the count by gender and it just makes less sense in the novel as they removed those characters.
i've seen the ages of the main leads in the novel and the drama obviously aged them (or especially FL) up. does anyone have a guess how old they actually are in the drama?
for LYN (FL), we know that she got sent to the side house when she was around six and was there for over a decade. we also know that she is the youngest in the family. i imagine the lowest possible age difference between the two leads is around 3-4 years (as both children from concubine qiao are younger than ML). Do you think the drama only aged up the FL?

After Doctor Du treated FL after curing the old madam, he mentioned that FL was born pre-mature which leads to her health issues now. ML grew suspicious and investigated the circumstances of FLs birth. ML finds out from a trusted aide of FLs mother that FLs mother was attacked by bandits and ended up pregnant bc of that (meaning she was assaulted by them). but, as FLs mother at that time was already in the side house, she used abortifacients to ensure that fl was born early (and thus could have been conceived while FLs mother was still at the main house), passing FL as the daughter of the second master. ML sends the trusted aide away and tells her to never tell anyone of this matter.
The ML is the biological son of second master Lou - he is disliked because his mother is a maid that "slipped" into second master Lous bed while he was drunk
so, episode 6 basically foreshadows that seunghyos mom cheated, right? explains why he was so triggered, why the relationship between his parents is this strained and explains the thing that his mom wants him to forget
