The poster is awful.... And korean netizens are the worst! At least this is fiction but it looks very real as far as toxic internet society which has the upper hand and controls celebrities...
I am watching this for a Watch Challenge and I am suffering: why do they need 11 episodes for this rubbish...Unfortunately I never watch anything at 2x speed though I am sorely tempted now! .Thankfully there is your review to help pass time. I probably know it by heart now.;-). Because this Is awful...I see other reviews waxing about chemistry and growth and courage and all I can see is the unrealistic Eh?! boy character apparently raised in a cave with no electricity far away from other humans and completely uneducated (some say he's autistic!). When he innocently asked "Two men? Is it possible? ", I just found myself incredulously shaking my head at the screen. Nobody can be that stupid (or innocent and naive as they are trying to present him) in this day and age. On the upside, you are so right about Iwase Yoji....🥰 I am definitely NOT the target audience for this "work of art"....
Cute and fluffy? All I see is obsession, stalking, adoration, hero worship, lack of education (two men together, is that even possible? Really, Japan? In this day and age?)etc. all of this presented as innocence... And slow so slow.... 3/10 and I am being generous here!
I am watching this now and just cannot help but linking the current events to this film which shows corruption between politicians and the rich....so frustrating and rage inducing! Those rich people and politicians think that they are above the law!
Great story, great actors, sizzling chemistry all ruined by this awful format! When are they going to stop with this vertical 2min format? Come on teens, abandon TikTok, find another app so we can get a proper drama with these two. Imagine how great this would be in desktop format..... Rating this 8 instead of 9.5 because of the format! Everything else was perfect! STOP WITH THE REEL FORMAT. NOW!!!!!!
I have just paid 6 euros to watch this on Oshiroen's Patreon (thank you for the subs) but finally, I did not like it. A BL about a virgin lawyer and a charming conman, both of course, very smart, that turns into a courtroom drama featuring sleazy characters with horrible haircuts and, as per usual in a j drama, a huge amount of voiceover. The clichés abound, and the boredom as well!
Hey! Thank you so much...I'm glad that we feel similarly about this beautiful series. About the empty profile,…
You are more than welcome. But you won't be able to review any of these here, they are not in the MDL database. From Burma(or Myanmar), beside the two I gave you above, I just discovered that The Star, which was deleted from youtube, can be found on bilibili. Burmese BL are very rare....Enjoy! PS On my profile page, the titles od bls are linked to my posts where you can find playlists to those dramas.
You see, I had the same problem, but in the opposite direction. I really did not care for Cherry Magic, mainly…
That last scene in Cherry Magic left me furious! I did not know about the actor's contract requirement. Now I am disappointed in him as well! It is just like some of Korean actors who refuse to acknowledge to being a part of a BL series which gave them a career boost...
Ahh, Game of Thrones! I never managed to get over the last episode of the first season! That was it for me!
I saw one season of KissxKissxKiss: Dekinai Cinderella which I found fully subbed. Not the others! I am actually interested in watching the whole drama not only the BL episodes...But it is nowhere to be found! It was probably never fully subbed...😭

The first thing to keep in mind when watching these, is that they are all low budget production with everything that it entails: bad acting, bad filming etc. but sometimes they surprise us with an original plot!
Unfortunately Burma's @Real gems have been deleted by authorities. There are a couple of short movies which are worth the watch: Tick Tick Again and The Bus Stop (very low budget!).
Khmer: The Memories and The Love of the Sea. The rest are badly produced and acted.
Vietnam has the most developed BL industry though still low budget but there are some @real gems here. Starting with a couple of music videos Tu Tam and Reborn which are outrageously flamboyant! Then there is the movie Goodbye Mother! And finally everything starring Ba Vinh, THE vietnamese BL star: not all of his dramas are good (especially the recent ones!) but you could try Want To See You and Mr Cinderella. And some others but I think that this should suffice for now! Right? Have fun watching!

Oh, yes, I understand the need for further research by rewatching scenes in LITA!😉
Don't misunderstand me! Cherry Magic was my first japanese BL and I found it charming, though I thought the ending problematic. Kieta Hatsukoi, however: I never could understand the appeal! And Thais managed the incredible feat: to make bad dramas worse! I actually finished thai Cherry Magic, hoping to see the Tay & New's magic everyone raved about. It was just an awful, awful watch....I got to meet some "nice" people in comments when I dared criticize the plot execution and the overall lack of logic!
EDIT: By the way, where did you watch KissxKissxKiss series and was it subbed? Or did they just sub BL episodes?

Don't start me on KBLs and their search of beauty and perfection and the lack of audacity. The last KBL I liked was a very low budget effort by the producers of My Damn Business but so much ...funnier!
I hope you find BLs that interest you among those I posted about! There are some real gems there....
Honglou Meng's reviews are having me in stitches every time! He's just posted a review for the japanese version of LITA....
