Nice little film. Why are there so many nudity tags for this movie? There is not even one glimpse of a bare chest? Unless they count the father's lower back shown, as they are applying medicine, for nudity?

I have the impression, but I may be wrong, that it is becoming more and more mainstream now especially with Thailand making it a source of their soft power influence in the world. Or is it that I became aware of it only when I discovered asian dramas and spent too much time on MDL Feeds?

"So they've been around, just not much in the light until society became more inclusive." That is the point here: they exist since forever but have only came out (no pun intended! LOL) into the mainstream entertainment only recently: 7-8 years ago in Asia and only timidly last 2-3 years in the West (Heartstopper and what else is full on BL?). What I keep wondering about is why now and why in the East? It is making me realize that asian societies are in fact more tolerant and open than western ones.

Well the phenomenon itself should be analysed I think. I don't know where you're from but I have never heard of bls before COVID (asian dramas>MDL>bls!)! I think most people in the west discover it through mangas! Questions like: why is it so popular amongst especially young female audience, but not only them etc. A few months back there was a forum thread where people talked about it but it was very confidential, as often forum threads are, and the discussion, though extremely interesting fizzled out quickly. I would love to read a comprehensive article about toxic fans and even more toxic thai production companies. But fun articles should be written too: about extraordinary couples, main and side couples(who are often more interesting and should be a topic for an article) both, about support characters (girlfriends, trans comic relief, parents....), particular bl tropes, evolution of bls in general from school dramas to a variety of different themes (cooking, sports, business...), about bl actors as well.... This is all just off the cuff, now, when I think about it! I discovered the asian lgbtq bl subgenre only two years ago and my western mind is buzzing with questions about it: the whys and whereofs of it's popularity in asian cultures and the clichés we have in that regard. I hope you find an original topic to write about! I enjoyed this article very much but an opinion piece, as you said, would be more interesting and the discussion more lively! But ...baby steps, MDL, baby steps! One day I hope, since they seem to have decided to bring back the editorials written by members! The list you wrote is a nice beginning and maybe after a few others had been published(best thai, best japanese and so on...) they'll let you publish a real opinion article! I know that people, myself includes, would love to read something like this. I am also well aware that many members have tried to have lgbtq or bl articles published but those proposals have ALWAYS been rejected. But a miracle happened and a "bromance" article got published! I still cannot believe it! Maybe they have had a change of heart at MDL HQ? I really hope you get to write something about bls because it has been a huge phenomenon in recent asian entertainment that articles analysing it definitely should be written and published HERE. They are a part of asian dramas covered on this site, after all! MDL HQ attitude has been so 20th century so far: we know bls exist but we do not talk about them officially!
Baby steps MDL? BLs are usually a big NO-NO in Editorials. Kudos to you, writers, for publishing a BL article through fake bromances genre! What happened? The Powers-That-Be at MDL were off work when this got approved? Whatever the reason, well done!!!!
Nice! A bit clunky, badly edited and messily filmed with the sound drowned under an onslaught of very loud and wrongly used classical music. The actors are cute, especially the one playing Than who is definitely a talented guy with a promising future. A well spent 17min!
This is a LAKORN with a bl couple and a touch of fantasy not an ordinary bl series...Not your cup of tea apparently! Different people, different tastes!
Very slow movie. Long scenes where nothing happens, just the boring everyday routine life. Utter despair or just lack of interest in life, hidden behind a mask like face. High school hustler coworker shakes him out of his apathy. The movie feels like one of those university amateur production: inconsequential dialogue, shaky camera, no visible editing, dull colours. Hopeless almost to the end....Just a period in their lives: we do not know much about their past: where they came from and why are they hustling (family problems were mentioned but...). Nor do we get to find out what happens afterwards! Nevertheless, an interesting watch.Probably an indie movie.
The actress playing FL is totally charisma free and the character she's playing is therefore more annoying: silly and self-righteous with a baby voice and skipping into office..... Lovely! Can we have an adult FL, please producers and writers?
I liked these episodes a lot! Nothing confusing about it! I do not know what the others expected but this was a rather straightforward fantasy. Don't forget the after credits scene!
My pet peeve(i.e. hair) micro rant! Just a quick question that's bothering me: why did she cut his long hair ? He plays the Emperor in a drama therefore needs to have long hair, therefore a wig, instead of using his real hair? Moreover, his short haircut as well as being ugly, also looks like a wig! He is so much more handsome with those historic hairstyles! Or.... I should just follow the advice below: don't think and look at pretty people? But where are pretty people to look at? I am enjoying it nevertheless!
