Your reviews crack me up...I am reading this now, laughing out loud with tears streaming down my cheeks. Thank you so much! You are a brilliant, smart and funny writer.
And again there is this annoying policewoman and her I-am-better-than-you-and-I-know-better attitude.... Fortunately she's not that much on screen but every time she says something I have the urge to throw my laptop out the window... She is so ruining this great drama! Writers, could we for once have an inteligent female detective who actually thinks without jumping to conclusion! On the other hand the bromance between the four is brilliant. And the great baddie is obvious from the moment we see the face of a certain new character sometimes halfway through....
The slow burn dramas are my favourite and this one is a perfect example. But there is something off here, I just can't put my finger on it, it's like it is out of sync...it gives off a weird vibe!
i was so frustrated with Choi Soo Young she seems to want to take on more than what she can handle if it werent…
I know, my feelings exactly ! She is so incompetent and acts before thinking letting her emotions take the lead. Why are FLs always soo annoying? Please writers can we have a competent lead with special skills?
A perfect feelgood drama. Should be obligatory because it leaves you with a silly happy grin on your face...just what everyone needs!
This is a story of adults, equal, smart and where, unlike majority of romcom dramas, the FL stands her ground and doesn't turn into a blabbering idiot once she falls in love but takes as much as she gives. I loved the couple, their chemistry was off the charts and they talked to each other. Which is another exception!
If you are looking for something smart, clever, light and joyful to watch this is the drama.
There are only two other dramas which left me feeling the same and where the FL was portrayed equal to ML in strength and consistency of character: Because This Is My First Life and 20th Century Boy And Girl.
The first film was much better. It was more realistic. This one is giving you a sugar overdose. Everyone is sooooo nice and understanding, there is zero conflict and everything is hanky dory! And don't they like to bawl their eyes out! Technically this one is better made but the slow brewing story of the first one is more captivating.
Mine is a very unpopular opinion as it widely diverges from the rest of the viewers: I prefer by far the first movie. The 2nd was good but the first one was much better. I loved the slow pace, the scenery, the glances, the unspoken dialogues and the blow by blow rendition of how they fell in love... Just beautiful! The ending is perfect and therefore I find the sequel superfluous.
Devilish Joy is a drama packed with kdrama tropes starting with the white truck of doom and amnesia in the first episode. As it goes on you will see the rest of usual clichés. On the up side, the cast is cute especially Choi Jin Hyuk with his smile and deep voice. Chemistry is good, cinematography beautiful, music is forgettable and the story could have been better... Good for a single, light and fluffy watch after a heavy drama (like Beyond Evil for example!)
Can someone please change his profile photo? It is awful and definitely doesn't do him any justice! He's hot as hell! And that smile of his is pure magic!
I agree with you on all the problems this drama had. And though it was well done and the suspense was naibiting, just like you I did not quite get some plot devices. Why organize a complicated kidnapping instead of divorcing the guy? Police asked her that but we never got the answer! And don't start me on FL: she spends time crying over her mother when that is totally useless. Once it is OK but all the time?!? And the said mother disappearing in order to protect her daughter even though it is not working. And the usual culprit: the huge corporatiob's super rich boss. I find this drama better than Signal (they are based on the same idea) but if you want to enjoy it you must not try to figure out the logic behind it. Often it is uncomprehensible and so you end up with a huge headache. Like me now, having just finished Kairos.
