Thank you I so agree with you: what a wasted opportunity to make a great drama. I had trouble suspending my belief in certain scenes (I mean that hunting scene doesn't make any sense!).
FL looks miserable all the time. So annoying! I hope she gets better soon because I want to drop this again.... I picked it up after watching Joo Ji Hoon in Hyena(so good!!!). This drama is such a wasted opportunity!
Oh no!!!Too late for the bedtime warning! I fell into this particular rabbithole 6 months ago (thank you stay at home order in Europe!) How do I get out ? Do I want to get out?! Kdramas are a perfect 16h (usually!) escape from harsh reality (and I was so fed up with endless US series!) On the other hand it took me only three dramas to figure out the formula and see the majority of tropes that show up in most shows: love triangles, wrist grabbing, white truck of doom, piggy back rides and so on.... I am a sucker for a happy ending and since those are the stages a usual kdrama has to go through, so be it!!!! Thank you for this article: very informative and succint!
Sweet, cute filled with usual kdrama tropes (triangles, childhood friends). Story known, seen so many times before. The only advantage of this one is that it is short and therefore very very sweet. Beware of the sugar overdose! Definitely worth the watch !
Macchiavellian! I hate it! First three episodes felt so weird I almost dropped it. Don't do it. This drama is amazing: the chemistry, the dialogues, the story....
It takes some getting used to: you don't see such ruthless female characters, it is disturbing, it is hard to like her but on the other hand the society forces women to be tough to survive in the world run by men! Still this drama is definitely something else! Production is amazing, direction(original camera angles), acting top notch, colours(or the absence thereof).
No you are not the only one: the first time I saw her I thought she was someone who abused esthetic surgery, she looks so artificial. The only role I actually likes her in was Jennifer. And that's all: all the other roles I saw her in was older woman with younger man, excentric, yoga loving, comic....I think she is much more talented her roles let on!

But such a beautiful drama for grown ups where the characters behave their age(except first few episodes heavily comic, even too much), deal with problems as adults should . Kudos to the writers for managing to avoid using the most of usual kdrama tropes. I love this kind of dramas: slow moving bet never boring and where the leads have incredible chemistry ( which is so rare). This is not everyone's cup of tea!
I have just seen A gentleman's dignity and the only issue i have with your description of this drama is what you said about the character played by Kim Ha Neul who is assertive in professionnal life I agree but when it comes to her private life she bahaves as a silly child who doesn't know anything about life! She keeps screaming ; "What do I do now?" which was so annoying coming from a 35yr old woman! Innocent man was as perfect revenge drama as they come. Faith was imposible to watch! Lee min Ho can't act. He should just stick to looking pretty in pictures! Can somebody explain to me how is he so famous without any acting skills to speak of?
The most unsatisfying ending to an excellent drama: not one single character gets to have a happy ending: everyone is left sad and totally alone. Revenge doesn't pay!

OK so now that I have forced myself to watch a few episodes I am hooked and I have to admit that Jang Hyuk is such an amazing actor: restrain, posture, frozen face- he does everything in his power to convey the main character's thirst for revenge and is so incredibly convincing! Just perfect! But I found another issue with this drama: the production is so cheap and cold and definitely lacks a bit of art.
Great idea, excellent actress, but everything goes downhill from the middle of the first episode: no chemistry between leads, complicated story and uncomprehensible ending. Trust me, give it a miss!
This was quite a movie.I watched it on a rainy Sunday. Slow, so slow. Minimal dialogue. No music just rain and heavy silences, actors with electric chemistry between them. Not boring for a single second, I didn't see two hours pass...I found the movie too short! I could watch these two looking at each other for hours.... Just beautiful!
I love revenge dramas so I jumped into this one with glee after reading all the rave reviews. Than something was wrong: I have seen the ML somewhere. And than it hit me : he was in Fated to love you and I hated him so much there: the awful overacting, horrible grins, making weird faces and that hair the nightmares were made of. All this completely ruined Money flower for me. Moreover he is supposed to be same age as the SML but looks at least 10years older. Or the SML looks too young !
Lee Joon Gi has more chemistry with a tree than with the FL: she is a terrible actress and a totally wrong cast. LJG is so amazing even in this average drama...
