I tried to overlooked the age gap between the ML and FL lol but both did well in their roles. The overall vibe…
age gap? between two grown people? what is their to overlook? i always find it so weird when people comment age gaps of only 10 years between people who are well above 30.
it negates the effect of calling out actually problematic and weird age gaps, like people in their 20s or 30s dating teens (which is disgusting) or even people in their late 20s to early 30s dating early 18-22 year olds. bc what would they have in common with people that age?? meanwhile, when u are both above 30, u can both be at a similar stage in life and want the same things despite a significant age gap. both ppl also usually have enough life experience so that there is nobody taking advantage of the other’s naïveté
I really hope that Jeong U doesn’t constantly try to break up Yi An and Hui Ju. Love triangles have become my…
omg don’t talk to me about dynamite kiss and ESP our universe. i have to mention that in the latter i def appreciated the uni friend’s kindness even after he knew he couldn’t have her. it was very nice and refershing to see a man NOT becoming an evil demon after being rejected. what i did not enjoy was the execution of the entire thing. that character was stale af. and it was unreal how much screen time they had and how much time they spent on it. when the main couple eventually got tg it was like all stakes were gone in that dragged out love triangle and i just thought that’s whatever. they could have introduced a third love interest in the last episode for all i cared at that point
i def do agree the original comment was very poorly worded, and that they could have expressed their opinions in a muuuch nicer way if it was simply the actors they didn’t care for or sum
Iknow right. 6.9 is brutal, rare to come across that low of a rating for a highly awaited drama with popular actors.…
I think people on MDL are too generous with their ratings (and airing shows should not include reviews posted while it was airing on the final score), so it’s nice to see a drama that deserves a low rating to get one. I’m part guilty of it too, w a 1-10 scale, it’s like I forget 1-5 exist😭 but if u had to force urself to finish something, surely it has to be below a 5?? Or?
when i think about how MDL is not a very nice and inviting community to participate in, this is what i mean. yall are so mean to each other🥺wouldn’t it be easier to just… not be mean and harsh and to interpret each other’s posts/comments in good faith? idk
I loved Byeon Woo-Seok in Lovely Runner, and have eagerly been awaiting his next drama. I don’t wanna shame people based on their looks, and I might be wrong, but is it just me or is he looking a little too smooth and plump, like a baby??😭 without being able to tell for sure, it looks like going a bit overboard w the botox/fillers, which really distracts me a lot. i feel like i have noticed them going overboard esp in male actors??? just want to emphasize that this is not me hating on him, and i might be 100% wrong, but its a shame if they feel pressure to overdo it
I just recalled something that bothered me while watching the drama. The father in law in the divorce/repeatedly…
tbh i thought that pregnancy line was just a bad translation for c-section scar lmao, and then i kind of forgot about it in time for when they showed how she gave birth. tbh, ive never heard anyone speak about such a thing as a pregnancy line where im from. its KIND of giving the same pseudoscientific patriarchal vibe as virginity checks where they check if the «hymen» is «intact» (aka it varies from person to person how it looks, not depending on if u have been intimate)
this was reeeeally slow start to for me. i think i tried watching the fist ep on and off for one month lmao; partly bc im finding myself in a big kdrama slump, but also bc i feel like the good shows are far and few between currently so i set my expectations accordingly. either way, am i glad i managed to make it past the first ep!! this tv show truly has amazing characters and acting, and highlights the situation of marginalized groups in korea in a way that feels natural. itaewon class is the only one i have seen attempt this in a serious manner before, and its been a while since that came out. what REALLY stands out to me here tho, is that these topics are not raised in a clumsy and insensitive way. even in itaewon class there were some moments where i was like yikes😐 but i feel like this one holds up in terms of discussing these topics in an emphatic and more respectful manner, while also showcasing opinions that are unfortunately very prevalent in society
i havent watched the two last eps, but imo this is def not an 8. some great characters and funny moments, insane chemistry between the main couple. the two first episodes really caught me by surprise. HOWEVER, it went downhill from there and idk if it was just me, but the extensive use of slomo and unnecessary filler moments? i constantly had the remote in my hand so this would be a bit more efficient (I usually never do that??)
wooow jung hae in’s acting in this? for me, this is acc one of my top performances by a male actor. his expressions carried so much. both pain, longing, sorrow, regret, shame, innocence, love, happiness, often managing two convey two conflicting emotions at the same time. ouf this performance really hit me right in the heart
What I want to know is why create a fake Middle East country while you use real countries names (China, North…
they have to make some explanation of that one fictional country and tie it back to real countries, bc all the other ones are real countries?? if they dont it will be a gaping plot hole
That tells us nothing because a) Iraqis can live in the States b) bot farms used for spamming reviews like this…
this is a case where the numbers add little value cuz as @ivy pointed out there are iraqis living outside iraq lmao. and considering the global iraqi diaspora makes out 3 to 5 million people with at least 1 million in the west, the data says very little. the only data that would have been of value is to see what percentage of 1-star reviews mention iraq
