Actually I already commented here but after finished watching TSOU, just want to add some more, finally I give it a 9 because the ending was so beautiful and the great chemistry between the two female leads, but I must to say all the emotional and dramatic scenes were almost all driven by Earn's part and Orm was really good at playing it, her crying scenes were really heartbreaking to watch, I really cried in the last episode during her scenes with Lada's mom, so touching 😭😭. In the end, every parent just wants their children to be happy.
I really like Orm's acting skills at her young age being just 22 yo she has the potential to be a big star in the future, her personality in real life is very naturally funny, very kind and fun, well-mannered and smart, can blend with anyone and various age ranges (it seems very fun to be one of her friends lol) so I will definitely look forward to her next projects, and this is also the first time I've really become a fan of a Thai actress.

In the novel it's different but for me the scenes in EP 8 between Earn and Lada's mom was already a good execution, where the misunderstanding between Lada and Earn was first created by Lada's mom confronting Earn who did not acknowledge their love in EP 1, then finally they ended in a very touching way, Lada's mom finally acknowledged Earn, and their love then apologized to Earn (I really cried at this scene!) I agree that a love relationship between two people is not only about two people but also 2 families, so it would be so great can have their blessing!!

I just realized that the director of TSOU also directed a Thai GL movie "Yes or No" before (my first Thai GL movie back then) and TSOU is also my first Thai GL series, like a fate LOL 🤣
She also directed the Thai version of Full House, I also really liked this version because it was more romantic and funnier than the original Korean version.

I like Zhang Linghe's character as Pei Wenxuan here, I think this is one of his best roles and he played it very well! I have mixed opinions about Li Rong's character (but I really like Zhao Jinmai's acting style) on one hand she looks smart but actually she doesn't know what's really going on so she makes wrong decisions or misunderstands especially towards Pei Wenxuan, and sometimes it's a bit frustrating but I enjoyed the progress of their love relationship and they are very cute!

Another character I quite like is Shangguan Ya (but not in her first life story lol). I'm sure that the role of a character in a C-drama containing the name Shangguan will have a cool character setting, like Shangguan Zhi (Ju Jingyi in "In Blossom") or Shangguan Qian (Lu Yuxiao in "My Journey to You") lol

First time watching Thai GL series/drama, I don't really watch Thai GL because it's not my cup of tea, usually for Thai, I watch horror movies, romantic comedies, and friendship comedies. I only watched Thai GL movie Yes or No because many people talked about it, and the two main leads appear in ep 1 of TSOU as cameos.
So I started watching TSOU because I often see clips of TSOU on X (Twitter), both girls are charming and beautiful so I tried to watch it, their acting is really good (especially when acting crying and heartbroken), the chemistry is really good and romantic. I think this is the first time I watch a Thai GL genre where the two main girls (Ling and Orm) are equal in terms of visuals, beauty, and acting (don't know much about other Thai GLs) although the plot is nothing new but it's still engaging.
Hopefully they both (Ling and Orm) will reach new heights in their careers because this drama is popular and many viewers like this drama and love them both.

I've also finished reading the novel because I was curious about the ending. It turns out that the novel is more steamy, hotter and more angsty LOL but the drama is made softer, maybe more romantic and comedy.
I don't remember if it was ever mentioned their age gap in the drama, only a few scenes where Lada mentioned to her mom to help her junior's mom's illness, in the novel it was mentioned their age gap is 6 years, and when Earn first met Lada was 18 almost 19 yo. They were together and in a relationship for 3 years in overseas then broke up for almost a year and met again.
Suzie in the novel is really funny because she often gets caught between Lada and Earn when Lada and Earn are quarrelling or when they are being romantic and kissing LOL.

Hopefully the ending in the drama will have a satisfying ending!

I'm so happy for JJY too, finally! Hopefully in the future she can get good projects and good resources.

Heard that Ju Jingyi still hasn't decided whether to join Hesong Entertainment or not, said that the invitation to GLASS event was Hesong's sincerity in asking JJY to join Hesong (could be for fashion and magazine resources or also along with other resources for dramas/projects) and it's proven that almost all GLASS event hot searches were almost all JJY.
Also said that her fanbase is also huge, very dedicated and solid so the new agency/company (whoever they are) don't need to worry anymore about her online traffic data and popularity, just give JJY good projects.

Just finished watching, this revenge drama is very good in almost all aspects, very engaging and thrilling from the first episode to the last episode.

Wu Jinyan (JL/XFF) truly displayed stunning acting skills that surpassed Story of Yanxi Palace, especially her acting full of anger and hatred mixed with deep sadness through her eyes and facial expressions.

Liang Yongqi acted very well as the character of a weak husband who is full of helplessness in dealing Princess Wanning but at the same time, a smart and honest official (as he should be), full of anger and wants to fight all that helplessness but not brave enough and helpless, also still crazily obsessed with XFF (I think his character is quite complex).

the two leads characters don't immediately fall in love, slowly they start to pay attention to each other starting from small gestures and expressions, both of them are very intelligent in their own way and their strategies for facing their enemies also don't collide but instead their strategies both complement each other while still achieving their respective goals.
Duke Su always said Jiang Li/XFF is his pawn but I see that all the characters (including Duke Su) are JL/XFF's pawns to achieve her goals and take revenge.

The acting of all the villains is very good, especially Joe Chen as the stepmother, although her expressions and the way she talked look like a good mother/wife but we can also see her hypocrisy at the same time.
Also Li Meng's acting as Princess Wanning, with all her craziness on the outside but at the same time she is also very fragile on the inside, desperate to be loved and cared for.

This drama also tells the background of some villain characters which makes them have reasons why they are so evil, making us hate them but at the same time sympathize with them, this is something that is usually rarely found in other revenge dramas where the villain characters are mostly pure evil.

The OST and BGM are also good, especially the BGM with guzheng and flute, when Jiang Li took part in the competition or playing together with Shen Yurong with flute, the rhythm is very pleasant to listen to but also sounded sad at the same time.

Yes, her character is the same as described in the manhua/donghua, cold and wooden. So I don't think this is the actors' fault, they just followed the script and character settings given to them. Sometimes the chemistry between the two main lead was there, sometimes there wasn't, but I think as the story progresses, their chemistry getting better, although it can't be said good but better.
And I agree the editing really didn't help the drama.

Yes, there is something definitely wrong with all these very low ratings. I understand this drama didn't perform as well as we expected and has many flaws especially in the storyline and editing. Like you said even though the douban score was 5.6 but the MDL rating should be around 7.9-8+, in fact there were many dramas on douban 4-4.5 but on MDL can get around 7.5-8

It's really weird that many here comment on hating to certain actors just because the drama didn’t live up to their high expectations so you hate them based on your personal interests.

I don’t think this drama deserves such a low rating, just because we set our expectations too high because it's star-studded, marketing and promotions said they put a big investment for this drama, good CGI, attract many investors, beautiful costumes. So when this drama airs then it didn’t live up to your high expectations so you were disappointed so giving this drama such a very low rating, in fact many dramas that were much worse than this drama actually got higher ratings.
And why do most blame Yang Mi for always acting cold and wooden? in donghua version also has the same expression like that, and she just followed the script and director, luckily Yang Mi is very good at expressing through her eyes so she can bring out emotions.
