Honestly speaking I can see how this would have been draggy if you had to wait every other week for an episode, so when I binge watched with the opportunity to fast forward some of the cringe and uninteresting stuff, I totally enjoyed myself despite being a huge believer that most kdramas should have a 12-14 eps formula.
"First off, 34-year-old Sol did not behave like a 34-year-old." FINALLY!! I paused midway to calculate her age and realised this was a 30+ lady running after a teenage boy as if she were 12 πππ I mean, I get the urgency but really?? The second hand embarassement sheeh. Though if they hadn't done that, I don't think any of us would have been able to turn off our brains and root for them, even if he was 20.
speaking of memories... y'all is Sol's grandma one of the Im Sol(s) in another timeline??? The way she smiled at Sunjae, yk the big Im Sol smile... she knows something we don't!!!
Park Gyu Young my queen who nailed I two projects with her performance in first half π₯
For real, she really blew me away with her performance in Nine Puzzle. Everything from her mannerisms to voice... I doubted myself over and over if it was her.
who cares honestly its not like the original material amounts to anything more than generic shounen slop. and…
My problem is with the recycling of popular IPs over and over again with nothing new to add, especially when other versions have done it better but somehow not awarded the same respect. I get from a business pov but man it's just sad, I hope it won't be the case for this, but after a few months this live action might just turn into another Death Note.
The least they can do if they're just gonna regurgitate the same information is to do a good job, which brings me back to my first point, this is netflix and they sure as hell don't care.
HS Im Sol...girl pleaaaaaase!! I can't with the secondhand embarassement! ππ I have to sometimes pause, do some breathing exercises and play again. Like girl, please read the room sometimes! But truly no one could have pulled it off like Kim Hye Yoon π₯Ί
They want to expand viewership/demographic lots of people donβt watch animations or read web novels the issue…
I understand, but can't help but disagree. I think not many people know about the novel but it is already popular as a webtoon and we've seen the numbers it has done as an anime. I just know this is Netflix trying to squeeze as much money out of the IP before it looses relevance and I won't fault them for that. What I don't want (but ultimately expect) from them is a half a**ed job, which would suck, since it is something that animation has already done 10x better. I don't think they're looking to expand, they probably trying to suck the last few bucks out of viewers cause anything with Solo Leveling slapped on it in 2025, will have anyone who's seen/read it, click. Sigh, it wouldn't be the first time Netflix has done so.
someone pls send the link from the novel? ππ»
Try the solo leveling reddit, or just look it up, I think it will show up with normal search. If not, you can just go for the manhwa, I hear there isn't much difference.
Idk why something that is already animated needs a drama/live action. Ik i'm not saying anything new, but I hate how a lot of these show producers deem animation as a "secondary" form of media that can only be "taken seriously" when turned live action. This is obviously a cash grab in my eyes and since this a story that will involve a lot of special efects as, I can only foolishly hope they will be hiring the artists to pull it off and not just half-a**ing it with underpaid and understaffed workers.
There is a reason why so many have tried and yet many still fail with Avatar the Last Airbender for example.
Yes! They finally showed the part where he traveled back in time with her. I thought they'd completely leave it…
I think you should have this marked as spoilers too since you revealed something the drama has yet to confirm... But yeah, I also thought they'd leave out him traveling back with her. I would have loved to see what they'd do otherwise. Despite it being an integral part of the story, I never liked that the ML died too in the og, I would 10x prefer it if he regains his memory or somzthing. But we'll see (β'β‘'β)
is it just me, but Do Hwa Seon is kinda likeable for someone playing a villian. I feel like the chemistry would…
Even in the webtoon she kinda grows on you until well... we'll see how it plays out. This is a story that could honestly be a standalone, we'll see what they do with her.
Taecyeon is a bunddle of sunshine, someone whose face is naturally always smiling (even his ears smile istg), so it took me a minute to get accustomed to his cold aloof face.
It feels really rewarding when he smiles or looks amused γΎ(β§β½β¦*)o
Try breaking and entering into a teenage boy's room as a 30 y/o first

we can just make it into another "I transmigrated into the body of a villainess"
( Ν‘β’ ΝΚ Ν‘β’ )
Esaka and Suzuki kinda have some chemistry π
i didn't know being rich made you instantly pretty... but you know what? No wonder Elon Musk always gives off baby girl energy!
