literally cried a few times while watching this drama. I took a few breaks because it was a lot to take in but overall it was beautiful and well done. I give this drama a 9.0!
I finished this movie today and I love it! The cinematography and conversations between the main leads made me smile like an idiot lol. I wish there was a part two for this movie I would definitely love to watch it. ^^
This drama was so beautiful and motivational! I love how Shim Deok Chul finally achieved his dream in ballet since that's what he wanted to do when he was a kid. Now that he's older he did what made him happy and never gave up even when his family disagrees with him. The fact that they started to support and cheer him on in the middle and end of the drama really made me happy! I love the bond between Shim Deok Chul and Lee Chae Rok the scenes where Chae Rok would try to help Deok Chul gain his memory back made me want to cry lol. Anyways, this drama shows that you can still achieve your dreams no matter how old you are because someday you might regret it.
It's really interesting how she left home and started a new life in the countryside just because she witnesses her friend's death. You could really sense the guilt on her face and not knowing how to cope after the situation, and even tried to kill herself which was sad to see. I really wished she didn't put her ring in her friend's backpack just to get back at her. Although this movie does teach you that truth will always come to light no matter how many times you try to cover it up.
I know for some viewers it might be boring or hard to follow since it's a very unique movie. It's definitely one of those films you either re-watch to understand or just watch and think about it later. Even I had to collect my thoughts and here is what I think.
Throughout the whole movie, I was confused when it went to current, past, and then present but it started to click when they went back to the same characters from the beginning. In a way, it gives you a feeling of the characters and why everything is the way it is. Honestly, I understood what the teenagers were going through. All of them were getting bullied but shared the same interest in an artist named Lily Chou-Chou who they looked up to as their idol and listened to her music as an escape from reality. They even shared their secrets and fears in a group chat because they felt like they couldn't tell anyone else....that's how deep it was. You can tell they don't want to remain in this darkness forever. Personally, I could relate. In the past, I used to get picked on in school and at that time I looked up to artists and used their music to escape from reality. I did it to cope with whatever I was going through because I somewhat felt comfort and happiness. l even talked to people online who shared similar interests as me and told them stuff I was going through in my life. If you have ever been through that then you would understand it too.
The way it was filmed made me feel like I was in there with the characters. I love the music plus the cinematography it was certainly beautiful and pleasing to the eyes and ears. I always look forward to these things because that's what keeps me going whenever I'm not feeling a movie (although this film is really good in my opinion). I don't think I'll watch it over again, because it's way too long unless it crosses my mind. But it's certainly one of those films that really get you thinking about how we should treat others. I know it did for me. If you're into teenage angst and can handle blood and bullying then I would say watch it if not then this one is not for you.
Even from the 1st episode, I knew this drama was going to break my heart. But damn, I didn't expect it to hurt…
I feel the same way about Myeong Hee and Hee Tae's relationship too! It felt like a true love story that I did not want to end at all. You know it's a good drama when you can feel the actor's pain and emotions. T-T
I literally cried throughout the last two episodes hoping there would be a decent ending and closure (which it did). I just wish Myeong Hee and her father didn't die. What made it even sadder is that Hee Tae was trying to find her all these years but found out she passed away. That part broke my heart even more and I couldn't stop bawling my eyes out. I love how the two main leads stuck together like glue and the romance was beautiful. Not only did I love the romance, but I learned something new about Korea's history and it was certainly hard for me to watch. The scenes where the military killed innocent people and even kept them to where they couldn't see their family broke my heart! The actors did an excellent job in their roles and I could feel every pain and emotion. It almost felt so real to me. Also, this is one of my favorite dramas of this year I give it a 9.5/10.
p.s.- if you plan to watch this pls get a box of tissue because you're gonna need it. T-T
The Chinese version was a little better than this one; however, this drama wasn't that bad it's actually sweet, simple, and refreshing. I would definitely recommend this drama if you're into really cute romance. I rate this drama 7.5/10.
I was debating if I should watch this film because I have a certain feeling towards movies with mother as the title. I thought the movie was going to be predictable but the plot twist blew my mind. The mothers acting was good including the story, I did not expect this movie to have a lower rating but I guess it's not for everyone. I give this movie a 9/10!
Honestly, this was probably one of the best Chinese films I've ever seen! I'm not a big fan of Chinese movies, so this one really surprised me. The acting was excellent and every scene had me on the edge of my seat. I love the emotions between the two main leads, and my heart was pounding fast till the very end because I wanted to know what will happen to them. In fact, I'm satisfied with the ending and can't really complain. I give this movie a 9.5 / 10 and would totally recommend it!
Honestly, I really like the beginning and the middle of the drama because it slightly gave me When the Camellia Bloom vibes. I was all for it until episodes 13 to 16 changed so drastically and it was really hard for me to watch. I probably yelled at the screen for 1 minute trying to figure out why the writer thought it was ok for the main guy to get leukemia. Everything felt so rushed and I wish the writer could've ended it differently...BUT I will say this, the acting was pretty good and I did enjoy watching Lee Jae Wook in this drama. I hope to see more of his works in the future.
I might be the only one that thought the whole drama including the final episode was pretty brilliant. Twinkle,…
Since you put it in that way it does make so much sense and could be a possibility too. Honestly, your comment made me a little less upset after just watching the last two episodes.
I give this drama a 9.5/10!
