i’ve actually seen LCM in quite a few dramas, and no doubt he’s a good actor, but i think he has outdone himself in this one. i had no idea he could be this versatile.
initially, i was hesitant to start this drama because from the trailer, the plot felt quite similar to mr. queen. but after reading a few reviews, i decided to give it a try, and honestly, the first two episodes are quite promising and intriguing.
so far, it doesn’t feel that similar to mr. queen aside from the time travel trope and the usual court politics we expect in a sageuk. i actually think they’re taking it in a slightly different direction, which makes it fun to watch on its own.
i absolutely loved mr. queen, and at first it almost felt like a crime to even watch this considering how many people think it’s just a knock-off. but as you watch, it feels different, something you can enjoy without constantly comparing. let's hope they deliver it well!
ngl, the interesting plot helps me take my mind off the lack of romance between the main leads, and I had already made my peace with it while watching this week’s episodes. but then BAMMM...they start talking like that and acting all cutesy around each other… this is TORTURE!
can someone explain to me like I'm 5 this investment fraud case? I get the whole ethical wall thing and that the…
you can think of it like this:
MGC sold a toy power plant to TS. the toy only makes money if you put in the right batteries. but here’s the problem: the batteries are super risky, and if they fail, you lose all your money.
MGC’s own testers actually wrote a confidential report saying: “this toy is too risky. we won't even use our own allowance to buy it.” but instead of warning TS, MGC hid that paper and said, “don’t worry, the toy is safe, you’ll make money for sure.”
so TS bought it using their allowance (which was actually their clients’ money).
now yoon seok hoon’s team accidentally finds that confidential report in their files. that report proves MGC lied on purpose, they knew the toy was risky but tricked TS into buying it.
and that’s why it’s fraud. normally bad investment cases are hard to win, but once you have proof that the seller hid the truth, it turns into a much stronger case.
so basically in simpler words, MGC sold a broken toy while hiding the instruction manual that said “don’t buy this.”
tbh today's case wasn't that gr8 compared to previous ones. The win totally seems like a plot armor, it would…
yeah i agree. i also thought it’d be better if she won with a solid argument, but it made sense for hyo min. she didn’t suddenly become great at presenting, she just leaned on her logical side, let go of her bias, and that’s what realistically turned it in her favor rather than a sudden one week transformation in presentation.
this is actually so good! lately, there have been a lot of new dramas with pretty basic storylines, all beating around the same themes. but the take on this one feels fresh, and it’s something i can actually look forward to. the storyline here seems well balanced, and i’m glad i decided to give it a watch, especially after being disappointed again and again by recent few dramas.
this drama made me fall in love with the whole filming process, and i just had to sit through the entire credit scene, watching it roll on a black screen.
