I first started episode 1 a couple of weeks ago but stopped watching because the opening scene was honestly a bit of a turn-off. Recently, I decided to give it another watch, and I have to admit—it’s one of those dramas where the plot itself isn’t the strongest. That said, the NC scenes and the chemistry between the main couple really help make up for it. I still wouldn’t rate it very high overall, but if you’re on the fence, I’d say it’s still worth a watch.
A second season wasn’t really necessary, especially if they were going to handle it the way they did. I liked the angst, but I was hoping to see Babe as a Top at least once just to switch things up a bit. 🫣
Honestly, this was such a letdown. It sort of started with an interesting concept, but the story ended up being super predictable, boring and dragged out. Every plot twist felt like something I’ve already seen a hundred times in other BL dramas, so nothing really surprised me. The pacing was painfully slow too—so many filler scenes that didn’t add much to the story.
I was intrigued from the beginning, but it felt like this had the potential to be so much more with stronger writing and direction. I don’t mind when romance isn’t the main focus, but in this case, I really wish it had been developed more. I loved the character Sun and thought Tape delivered a great performance. The idea of an international romance was refreshing, but I kept hoping for something deeper. And that cliffhanger ending? Wild. Who knows if we’ll even get a second season.
Unfortunately, I didn’t care for it—mostly because of the writing. The story was so bland and predictable that I'm puzzled four writers were attached to it. The acting was just okay — not the worst I've seen; however, this CP ship didn't move me like others have in the past. Also, the fight scenes were some of the weakest I've seen. All that muscle, and they still made the ML look weak. Plus, the CGI—wheeeew, don't get me started.
I went into this blind not knowing what to really expect. The reveal with "that scene" (iykyk) was one of the most disturbing things I've seen in a long time. Beyond heartbreaking and infuriating, with a lot of evil characters in this one. The 2nd ML's moves were wild, but overall good drama - just wish it was a little longer to fill in the gaps.
The show gave what it was supposed to give: intense, well choreographed fight scenes, a group of friends to root for, and villains that will leave you seething. Did I experience the same emotions that Season 1 gave me, no! But I didn't expect it to. With a new season, comes a different vibe. Fresh faces taking the lead isn't a bad thing. The series still managed to deliver, and I was entertained.
I enjoyed seeing Boss and Noeul on screen together again, however the show did not surpass LITA for me nor did I expect it to. The NC scenes were top-tier, but I just wish the script was a little stronger. With better pacing and tension in the writing, and maybe longer/more episodes I think this could have been a stronger series imo. Also, even though I felt that the acting was not the strongest during the emotional scenes, I think there is potential to improve.
That being said, I am curious to see what MAME plans to adapt next and what BN's future roles will be . I thought Boss did really well in that short fighting scene, so I would love to see him in a action/crime/thriller/romance role with a whole a lot of angst.
