Person Deng Kai
I’d love to see him with Bai Lu.
Exactly, I actually read few chapters from the novel and... let's put it this way, Xie Wei was way worse than Qi Min.

Where did you get that nonsense?

i think the "expressionlessness" is due to the nature of the character....he is doing a job he doesn't…
My ID is a Gangnam Beauty got the same hate, except they blamed it on a bad actor, but not every role requires the person to act like in a silent film, overexpressing everything with face like that was the only means to act.

It's so deep!!! But straight to the point: why does Heeju's character cling so stubbornly to class distinctions?Even…
But I think there is more to her origin. The way she told her father "Branding me illegitimate..." - I think she was not illegitimate at all from that scene. That would explain why despite being so brazen this is such a sore spot for her.

Just finished POJ and can't move on! Any suggestions for new drama to help with my withdrawal symptoms?
I started watching Generation to Generation around the same time, but basically paused it, when POJ started occupy all my time. Bit different genre, but it has some intense moments.

Though not the ending we were hoping for, but still hundreds of millions of people watched it.. some hate it for…
I must say it was the drama most matching my expectations. Well, a lot of people died, more than I expected, but I guess that was a normal thing during war times and I just softened watching dramas that make one or two important sacrifices to make it emotional.

Do you really want to watch them. You could feel dissapointed even before starting. This is not a drama for battle…
Yeah, but the battles take place in complicated terrain, so there is never a huge field with 2 giant armies against each other. Like once the leads are in a mountain camp surrounded by the enemy and they want to break through. Since no one important is in the main force, you just see the small part guarding the camp gates and when the move to the battlefield, it is already half over, so everyone is scattered.

It is more focused on duels between generals.

Wei Yan loved Consort Shu (bestfriend of his sister - ML's mother). However, she was claimed by the emperor as…
You know how in dramas even cousins, even friends, call each other brother. They were uncle and nephew, but of the same age, more or less. All the young nobles in this drama know each other, from their talk, they were educated together, spent a lot of time together before the rebellion and growing up. They might have called each other brother to enhance the fact that between all the boys, they are actually relatives. Or it could be just a desperate attempt to appeal to him. Brother sounds closer than nephew.

It is all in the drama. It just isn't as spelled out as usually in dramas. Like when Wei Xuan screams at his father he had to kill his cousin because he was investigating even for the price of harming his own uncle. It's just a passing remark and he is never confronted about it. We don't even know if Xie Zheng actually found out.

How many of these dramas have you watched?
All of them. I'm not talking about every drama I consider watching. I mean those you see a trailer and spend even 2 years replaying it. Dramas you'd even take a day off at work to watch.

I gotta say... there were many C-dramas I was eagerly anticipating for years. And they suddenly premiered within quite a short time. All of them. Suddenly, I don't know what to look forward to. I don't doubt there will be surprise premieres that will get me. But not having any drama to look forward to so much feels a bit empty. Zhu Yu was the last one.

How’s the book?
And good one? Or Google translator like? Tried one online translation and was so disappointed that I dropped it after few pages and haven't tried another one since.

the only thing im worried about is she pulled into a world. Shes going to go back to the real world. it aleays…
Not always. I was already down going into these dramas lately, but now that I think of it, I can name 3 dramas, including one very recent, where the person stays. I won't name here, because that would reveal the endings, but it cheers me up. I hate it when they go back. As if the hard earned end was a joke, when they go back and end up with a person who just looks like their loved one. Because looks are all that matters?

Seriously? And when the drama aired, it seemed like it passed most people by...
I know. I get why he got hate for his beginnings. Taking over someone elses's lead role might be a good opportunity for a newbie, because established actors shy away from such projects for the sure hate they'd get, but even if you shine and get other opportunities, the hate still haunts you for some time. And Meteor Garden might be a beloved tale, but it's no Shakespeare and its nature kind of labels one with the image of just an idol. No matter the performance he managed to pull in some scenes. I actually expected more criticism for Only for Love, to be honest. He is just too young to play this kind role and while historical costumes make him look more mature and help him shine, I just could buy him as a tough CEO. He looked like a high school senior wearing his first suit to the graduation exam. I get a pairing with Bai Lu sure pleased his agency and brought him good money, but even if the other roles were romance first, playing those tough antiheroes suited him and it might have been forgotten because of that drama. And perhaps the haters then used this bigger projects to bash him since OFL would just be too easy to shake a criticism for.

Glad it's been said. The fan culture in Asian countries is seriously toxic. I remeber incidents like fan clubs trashing actors for getting into relationships with claims like fans should be enough for them, that the actors are ungrateful for the fans' love; or actor having to apologize, because his girlfriend, now his wife, visited him on set and borrowed his jacket, they took a picture and fans went berserk, because the jacket was from them - like he should have let her freeze.
And the actors must shut up or even apologize. By speaking up for himself, Zhang Ling He stood up to this twisted thinking of fan service above all and did so for all the other actors and actresses as well. 👏🏼

Seriously? And when the drama aired, it seemed like it passed most people by...
Trust me, I know not to fall for these videos. I was simply trying to illustrate how awfully quiet the internet was about this drama. I know idol dramas with a lot of romance create more buzz, but I remember the times, and they are not so distant, when Wang He Di was bashed as a bad actor, just pretty idol, so I'd expect him to live up to that reputation a bit at least. 😅 When even his die-hard fans kept quiet, it was weird.

BTW, what I use the YouTube for, is fan videos. But not why you think. Years ago, I noticed I had been missing out on good shows I'd like, because their description rarely capture the niche. Fan videos do that much better. 3 videos and I can say for sure if I'd like it or not. This method failed me just once in 17 years. True, it takes practice nowadays to pick just the right videos not to spoil everything, I started it, when the videos were without voiceovers, no walkthroughs of the plot scene by scene...

I do appreciate the thought of your recommendation, but I've never been on Twitter or Facebook or the others. I dislike to use SNS. I know, YT is one as well, but it didn't use to be and it's more.

I can only rely on English sources. When I looked it up after finishing the drama to see if there would be season 2, it was weirdly quiet. Not even a single fan video, just a lament named something like "Why The Guardians of the Dafeng failed". No serious article... 🤷‍♀️

2 Dilraba dramas airing back to back? Seems unlikely.
Months before, I would agree, but A Dream Within a Dream followed The Prisoner of Beauty. 🤷‍♀️
