Persevere for justice and self worth
You are worth being loved.
But first one should love oneself.
If you've conditioned yourself not to expect good things. You've been pegged down time again. You've never felt loved or valued. Such is the plight of Si Bei. Who suffered in silence from a family that valued sons over daughters. Molded to accept and never fight, she's a pushover and easy target at work. But alas, worst things befall her.
This was a story not for the fainthearted. And one that is hard to review and put a score to. It's one tagged with trigger warnings. Happenings that can be uncomfortable. A genre i typically avoid. I survived by some self edit, i.e. you skip the scenes you cant handle.
And the trouble for doing that.. because the overall drama deserved to be watched, a story of distressing trauma, overwhelmingly difficult journey to justice that deserved to be heard.
I hope that for every poor soul whose a victim, to have a Qin Nan (ML) in their life. Upon discovery, he was the pillar of strength, the gentle but firm voice that gave the FL courage.
We come to see that Qin Nan and Si Bei are each other's salvation. They were the 2 people who had it the hardest, struggled all their loves and more deserving then anyone of love and happiness.
This is Vin Zhang's finest character for me. Both him and Rachel Mao justified the story of Win Nan and Si Bei. After a long hard journey, they've found the light at the end of the tunnel, beyond the reed.
