Love comes when you least expect it.
You know, I think there are a lot more people that like the second season of this show more than this first one - which is understandable because the second season was intriguing and grappling. It definitely grabbed the viewers attention but nothing is without its first counterpart - alas, We Best Love: No.1 For You.
Every once in a while, a really really good Taiwanese bl will come into your life and you will watch it and think about it for the REST of your life. For me, that bl has always been WBL. My favourite trope is academic rivals to lovers and this show does it the best I have ever seen it been done. I love unexpected love so much. I do not want to spoil anything for future watchers but watching this show makes me feel so giddy and I have seen it 3 times now. (ps. I RARELY rewatch shows).
It is the perfect pace - not too fast, not too slow. Declarations of love are so beautifully done (I'm talking about the confession scenes btw) and most importantly, the characters are so soft-spoken. Watching this show feels like a soft kiss on the cheek or like you're petting a soft purring cat. I love it. I may be biased but I just love it - it is peak comfort vibes.
I like the university setting and the fact that it starts off at the pool - I love swimming so I literally just feel like this show was made for me. I will admit that this is a very personal review and many others may not feel the same way about this show as I did but who knows? Maybe a future watcher like you, might read this review and decide to listen to this crazy lady's words and give this show a go.
