It confuses me how Japanese Dramas and Reality Shows here on MDL always get low scores before they even finish airing. I started watching it the day the first couple of episodes were released and the score was already low.
It's been a while since I last laughed so hard! Episode 1 is sort of boring but the rest is great! Loved all the characters, love how they treated the theme of dating as an adult in 2023, and how women face so much scrutiny in society for merely wanting to explore their options before settling in IF they even want to do that. I think in this regard this drama was very innovative with the way it treated some themes.
It is actually very important in this drama as it explores the challenges of autistic people. It is integral to…
Not to mention that is rare to see 1. Representation of female autistic characters in fiction (they are usually men) and 2. Jun Ho likes her romantically almost from the get-go and not after reluctantly fighting against his feelings, which is honestly super empowering. The way romance works in this show is something not often seen in works of fiction and therefore makes the series very special, imo.
I know this hasn't been everyone's cup of tea since it began airing, but I'm honestly enjoying it a lot! It has a slice-of-life Josei-manga feel to it (I know it is originally a Seinen manga, but still) that makes the narrative so heartwarming :) I love Ma Eum even though I don't like characters that are too dense in the romance department (the girl is clueless!). I think, overall, she had some amazing growth since the beginning of the series. I like the other characters as well, Joon Young and Dae Ryuk especially, and I'm also hoping to see more of Yoo Mi's backstory since so far she is the PD we know the least about, as well as the artists she manages. I hope more people would give this drama a chance although I also understand a lot of the criticism in the comments. For those expecting a super romance drama... this one ain't it.
I'm at episode 9 and the cast is great. But why does the romance feel kind of out of place. Romance is okay, even…
I finished the show today and for me problem between the main couple was pretty simple: no chemistry. I agree, it felt out of place and almost forced sometimes.
How old is the lead and his friends(group) supposed to be anyway?
I asked myself the same thing while watching because I wanted to know the age gap between Su Jae and Gong Chan. He was arrested in 2012, so he was at least 18 years old and the show is set in 2022, 10 years later, which would make him to be at least 28 during the main timeline. Not sure about his classmates, though. Su Jae says her birth date during the trial on episode 15 but the subtitles were not working properly for me on Viki (in Portuguese) so they just showed the year as "198" lol.
I'm having a hard time feeling the chemistry between Kim Go Eun and Jin Young. It's not doing anything for me, personally. I don't want her to stay with BaBi for several reasons (I think it would be character development in the opposite direction lol) but even if there were no problems between them, I can't cheer for the couple because something just didn't click for me. I think the chemistry between her and Bo Hyun was far superior although I'd rather her stay alone than with him as well.
This is still being released on Netflix Brazil, but if the rest of the drama is as good as episode 15 was, this is a solid 9, almost 10 for me. That was one of the best episodes I've ever seen in a drama, with solid acting by everyone. Cried my eyes out.
I'm not really understanding the hate towards the sex scenes. People are treating it like it is some sort of taboo? Not every drama needs to be holding hands in episode 7 and kissing in episode 15. Is not out of place since it serves the purpose of establishing important relationships between key characters in the show and also gives a very much-needed tension in said relationships. 🤔
I'm liking the drama so far, mostly because I personally adore Seo Hyun Jin and the office politics are rather interesting. But I feel I could go without the romance though... Gong Chan's character can be almost a simp sometimes, it feels out of place. Not feeling the chemistry, I guess? :(
i'm here for jinyoung haha, do i need to watch Season 1?
Yes, you do. This season is a direct continuation of the first one, they are not independent. Also, so far the first season has been far superior to this one... 🥲
