Xianxia LAs aren't usually my thing, but looking forward to this, and to ZLS as another Feng~

Just finished the drama and my guess above about all 3 cps are on-point.

Its a proper happy ending.
Clearer than the webtoon.
And better than a lot of historical dramas.
It wrapped up well.

Looking forward to the pilot week.

I expected the 1st cp to wrap before the 2nd cp starts, but guess not. And I was hoping the 1st son's character will be different this time, but seeing his reaction after the "incident", I guess it was expecting too much.

At first I liked the interactions between the bio mom and 1st fl, like she was the daughter she never had, but that was only up until the bio mom ruined it.

My fave scene is 1st fl's mom waking her up with the speed comment about the "jogging" she did with her hand. That was cute. Her mom is the only good parent here. No wonder she'd do anything for her mom.

And the bts of 1st fl and 2nd son's "you remind me of someone I know" line.

Her: Tawan (She's not wrong) 😆
Him: He's cute
Her: He's weird
Gave me more laughs than both eps. lol

JJ really waited for the girls before thinking of going on hiatus.
They were her goal. SNSD was always her goal. And I'm happy for her, she finally got the SNSD card.

The drama is still airing so idk if they are endgame, but based on the ost mv and eps I've seen so far, it seems like they'll be the 2nd cp and the sister x assistant is the 3rd cp.

The umbilical cord statement was good. I understand why 1st son dislikes the mom while still liking the dad.

Only 2 eps left for the 1st cp, they are cute and the actress is quite good on chemistry with her costars but the actor seems lacking esp. since he's the main in this story while she's only a love interest. And just like his previous roles, he's still not resolute.

My fave part is continuation of my fave from the pilot. The "parking" scene again between 1st fl and 2nd son. When she directed him to the comments section last time, he actually went then informed her he liked all the videos she was on, and that there's even a rap ver. 😂
Their friendship is warm and funny at the same time.

Its my first time watching the fl but she looks so familiar. While the ml and 2ml are the typical jerk ml and nice 2ml. But the 2fl doesn't seem to be the typical lakorn 2fl. At first I thought she's the usual loud and annoying who wears night club clothes in the middle of the day, but it seems she isn't that bad. That short grandma actually ended up being the annoying one.

Started this because it didn't have my lakorn deal breakers in the tags.
And so far so good.

When I first knew of the cast from the announcement, I wondered how the chemistry will be with the brothers. But so far its okay.

My fave scene from pilot week was actually not with the 1st cp, but between 1st fl and 2nd son. Him saying he didn't "park" well instead of instantly blaming her, and her not wanting face to face comment but instead directs him at the online comment section was funny.

Anyways, since I started this while airing, hopefully the 1st son is a decent guy and resolute this time.

I didn't interpret it as "they" plan to get JM back. The purpose has always been to make SH believe. JY asked, BM answered. Thats it. And it was on earlier eps, it makes sense since BM is just starting to realize her feelings for JY.

You asked about the webtoon so thats what I added, but the drama is still ongoing so we won't know until its completed. But so far, despite some changes, the main story is still the same.

Adding to the ones above, iirc, later on SH was grateful that BM didn't date JM because even though she was okay pushing them on the outside, she probably won't be able to truly handle it deep inside.

So BM chose well in prioritizing the friendship than the crush. And she isn't trying to get JM back, prioritizing the friendship wasn't just between her and SH, but for the 3 of them including JM. She is a genuine friend to both.

This was good.
Love and obsession executed well because its not a typical full length cdrama so its not draggy. An advantage of a mini drama/short series is its straightforward. I didn't need to bear until a few eps. in to be interested, this had me hooked from the first ep.

The plot twist was really a twist. Its new. Something I've never seen before. And the ending was a good metaphor for farewell and letting go.

Overall, I enjoyed the mystery, suspense and esp. romance. For a mini drama, it had an interesting plot.

And the height too.
After the latest eps I've already established JY as JY, but SH still reminds me of CW because of the vibe/aura.

And to those planning to check this out after EAW, if you liked Eunbin's detailed acting in EAW, she does the same here. From the stance, voice, expressions, down to the mannerisms, she perfectly embodies the role.

This drama actually makes an effort as a crossdressing drama. It does not pretend like fl is a perfect male. They acknowledge that the prince is feminine. They showed the fl naturally developed manly gestures but she can't help but be feminine. It fits to the narrative that no matter how hard she tries, she can't hide her feminine qualities that will lead to suspicions.

And Eunbin understood the assignment. She effortlessly shifts between two different identities while depicting the fear, pain and grief that both characters hold. She portraye the prince and princess both physically and emotionally really well.

As a historical drama, fl is the hero that drives the plot. Most fl's are not as privileged as they are usually just the love interest that every male character likes or a damsel in distress that everyone has to save. Here the fl has the higher status and is in a position to be involved in political matters as a crown prince turned king.

As a romance drama, the ml here is also sweet like Junho. Yes there is cliché, but its a reverse cliché. The ml being good with books, medicine and gardening, while the fl being great at hunting, fighting and swimming. The fl being the hero and the ml as the love interest is refreshing and entertaining.

There are things kept from the webtoon and things changed for the better in drama. No accidental boob touch or anything like that, if thats a major concern for some. And most importantly, the reveal of the secret was tastefully done.

Overall, Eunbin's acting alone makes it worth watching. (KBS Drama Awards Top Excellence Actress, Baeksang Arts Awards Best Actress Nominee and Korea Broadcasting Award Best Actress). But everyone's taste is different. It's not perfect, but its a good watch after EAW or while waiting for Eunbin's next project.

And the ending..

First impression, I thought part 2 would be a continuation like fl and ml going through hardships and navigating life as a human x alien couple. I was not expecting for them to be basically back at square one and with some inconsistencies too.

But its still funny and entertaining so far, I'll continue with the next eps.

First impression, SH reminds me of Chaewon (LSRF) and JY reminds me of Sangwoo (SE). I'm only familiar with SJH from Flower Crew, his character there was sad, and its more so here...

HM and SM in the past is melancholic, but SM with JM in the present feels off. BM's reaction is relatable.

Even though JY isn't shorter than BM and there are changes, their dynamics and development is cute.

So far, its okay. I'll continue with the next eps.
