Jet Li is awesome name. but what the heck with 'Li Jet'?? Oh well...
Yeah, he was called "Jet" during his earlier days when he competed in national tournaments because of his immense speed. The singaporean media later picked it up and it became his official stage name.

I grew up with his movies and I just love him. Handsome man, humble, generous and adorable. There are not many action stars that look so elegant, charismatic and majestic on screen, his martial art is just beautiful. I love watching his movies, and he's actually one of the few action stars that can act as well.
He really looks sick in his latest pictures. Please get well soon and live a long, healthy and content life. Luv you, Jet!

I love his and Jet Li's martial art style, so beautiful, elegant und majestic. Too bad, Vincent is not that well known yet, that man is a joy to watch on screen when he fights and he did some good shows.

what a talented little actress! She was great in Asa ga kita. Her talent is especially obvious when I compare her to the acting of the child actors in Hanako to Anne, which I started immediately after I've finished Asa ga kita. While Rio was one of the main reason for me in the beginning to continue watching the show, I didn't feel the same with the child actors in Hanako to Anne.

Title Massan
It was the first time for me to watch a morning Jdrama (Asadora) and it was an amazing and unforgettable experience.…
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.:)
I've started watching Hanako to Anne at the same time as Massan, up till episode 4, but I want to finish Massan first though.

I've started watching it and like it very much so far. Especially the main female lead does a great job. I usually find foreigners acting in japanese movies hard to watch because of their often wooden performance, but she was natural and likeable.
Btw, if you like asadora you should try Asa ga kita. It's the drama that got me into asadora dramas.:D

Just watching it. Really funny, especially Tamaki Hiroshi's acting. It probably helps that the actor himself is very funny with a great sense of humor too. And yeah, he's beautiful beyond words. Great chemistry with the main actress.

I first saw him in Asa ga kita. Even a chonmage cannot hide the fact of how handsome he is (though he does look better with normal hair ofc). He's incredibly gorgeous. And that voice! I'm watching his other works now. He's quite versatile and is constantly improving his acting. I didn't realize he was in the Assassins! He's a bit like a japanese Tony Leung with that expressive, soulful eyes.

I think she did a great job playing Rinko. She didn't overact (which could happen easily with this kind of role) and was naturally cute and innocent.

He's one of the most talented japanese actors of his generation. First, I thought: "Yeah, he's pretty, but probably one of those who are pretty but can't act". But he blew me away in Ryoma Den. Since then I've been following him and he convinced me with his versatility and talent.

No offense to you pple who like her, but I REALLY don't like her (as an actress). I don't think she's a good one…
I agree with you. However I have only watched her in Kingdom of the Winds, so my opinion may not matter much. It's just that her acting was noticeable in a negative way, her co-actors, even those in minor roles, were much better than her. And her role in KOTW is a major one, so her acting bothered me a lot and I couldn't enjoy the drama as much.

I first saw him in 49days, and I didn't get why ppl were gushing over him. Because he didn't strike me as attractive. But when I watched him in the blooper videos of High Kick, I finally see his attractive side. His smile alone can make you fall in love with him!<3

He's surely a pretty one. But too boyish for my taste.
Nonetheless he caught my attention in Kingdom of the Winds. Despite having only few scenes he was convincing and natural and made an actually minor character memorable. I was especially impressed when he got emotional like in angry, sad or desperate scenes. Hope to see more of him.
I love JTTW. I've read the novel and watched most of its adaptions. But this is utterly crap (makes The Forbidden Kingdom looking like a oscar material in comparison), even though they spent lots of money and time and got some A-list actors such as Chow Yun Fat, Donnie Yen and Aaron Kwok for this movie. The love story btw wukong and the fox spirit is the worst, so awkward. I don't mind deviations from the source, but at least have a decent, believable storyline and good script! And the characters... I can't recognize most of them, they lost a lot of their original charm. And you would expect at least good visual effects, when they even hired some hollywood special effects people, but most of the time it looks cheap and cartoonish. At least I can commend Donnie Yen for his effort (Liu Xiao Ling Tong is still the best Monkey King and it's obvous that DY was studying LXLT's perfomance).

Me too. I grew up with HK dramas and there are many I don't remember the title either.

You're so right, it's very hard to track them down.
I totally envy you that you can go to HK! Good luck with the hunt.;D
On my several visits to Paris I sometimes went to the Chinatown and tried to find and buy some of the classics. But I'm sure you can find a lot more in HK.

You're welcome!^^ Maybe you can find some you like and looked for in that site.
I love old hk-dramas! Watching them makes me feel at home and nostalgic. And I love the cantonese language! I used to speak it quite well, but now it's more understanding.:(

I've mostly bought the old hk-dramas (if they're available) or have them on old tapes. But if you can write and read chinese I suggest you to try chinese online video portals such as tudou or youku. Sometimes I find them on these sites, but it's not always guaranteed that you can access the videos if you don't live in China. And I don't know if you watch them in cantonese or mandarin, but most of them are dubbed in mandarin.
This is the only site I know where some of the classics are shared: qkshare.com/

Hiya!^-^
Oh yes, 'Greed of the Man' and 'Looking back in anger' are one of the greatest HK-shows of all time, very intense story, great acting and music. I don't know 'The Final Verdict', I have to check it out.:)
The 80s and 90s produced the best TV-shows and movies in HK. It's a shame that nowadays not so many know them...

I grew up with movies of Jet Li and Jackie Chan. They are my idols, especially Jet Li who is a real martial artist, in terms of both physical ability as well as philosophy. He's just brilliant, but very down-to-earth, humble and when you watch interviews of him, you just have to love this guy!
I came to know him first in The New Legend of Shaolin, where he played again another historical figure. I was very impressed by his kung fu. And yeah, I also thought he was goodlooking.XD
I've also watched almost all of his movies. This is a great guide. Thanks for the awesome article!
