I don’t think people hate AI itself. What they often dislike is generative AI (people lump the two into a common word "AI"). AI isn’t inherently harmful; the real concerns lie with generative AI’s impact on the environment and on people working in creative fields. As you said, AI is useful in medical fields. On the other hand, Generative AI can be useful, but it’s rarely essential. In many cases, it’s a solution looking for a problem.
