I went in hoping this one will deliver what Summer Strike failed to. First episode was rough emotionally, but after the second episode I'm much calmer. If this ends up being a healing, warm, breezy, slice of life show without any/too many irritating/rude characters, I'm up for spending 38 more episodes in this village. I like the acting too. Natural and grounded. I don't want to jinx it, but so far, so very good.

How about that Episode 8.
I've never wanted more for a show to make a quick detour into unrealistic fairly tale territory, so this kid could wake up from his coma. Heartbreak doesn't even begin to cover, how that episode made me feel.
Overall a satisfying, effective and intensely moving watch. I didn't expect the show be this gripping.

I'm on the fence, but Park Hee Soon is giving me his usual reasons to stick with this. I'm getting a lot of Beautiful World vibes/dynamics from this first epsiode & setup.

Agree. The OST is so strong. This song you're referring to is already out. It's called "To Anywhere" and it's…
Oh, no worries. I figured it was the wrong one, and that the real one hadn't been released. Thanks for the tip! It's stunning, but I wonder who links these artists & songs on Spotify, bc the song is linked to a male artist named Rose. 😁 😁
The universe should provide us with a Kdrama OST masterlist in the new year. Most of my playlists are filled with Kdrama OST, but I still miss some from shows, since it's hard to keep track of when songs are released. Still waiting on that one glorious song from Fanletter, Please.

Duh, my bad. I just need to read properly. "the END of ep. 8". Let's hope they release it as quickly as the other ones.

Currently on episode 5 and I'm only holding on due to the good reviews, I've read here and on other sites. This show is so stressful! Park Sun Ho's mom has been wailing for 4 episodes straight and is making me feel like a horrible person because I'm literally annoyed by a grieving mother. 90% of the people are downright loathsome and I'm sensing, a few of them will not have any redeeming arc. Watching the daily life at Oh Joon Seok's house sends shivers down my spine.

Right now, I pretty much only like Park Sun Ho's dad and sister. Park Hee Soon is so very great as the dad and his portrayal of grief is thankfully not as loud as the mom's. Seeing how this grief changes and impacts his personality is quite interesting. I hope the comments are true and mom tones it down a bit as the show progresses.

They really do plug the "Over the Moon" song a lot. I feel like it's playing every 10 minutes. No complaints here, though - it's a beautiful song. The vocals are glorious.

I can't believe I first dropped this one after episode 3, because I didn't feel invested in the story. I must have been out of my mind. This second time around I binged it in two days. Very strong performances from both Park Hoon and Kim Seo-Hyung, but it was the three boys, that really grabbed my heart and kicked my protective instincts into overdrive!

Ahn Ji-ho/Go Eun-ho. Whenever he was on my screen and literally every time he said "ne" with that pure, innocent face and gentle voice, I almost felt my heart split wide open. I won't soon forget him as a character.

I believe "The Life Before Us" must be on a lot of viewers' reading list after watching this show. It's definitely on mine.

I just rewatched these episodes, and I think I'll try to wait until the remaining 6 are released and then binge this show. I'm sensing a lot of sadness coming up, and I don't think my heart can take waiting for episodes, when it hits.

Besides, I have to say, I'm loving the overflow of positive reactions here and on Youtube. Looks like, we've all been waiting for this kind of show. And that OST - we're all REALLY feeling those songs. When this OST drops, Spotify will be on fire. I'm so curious to find out who the singer is, that is delivering those gloriously intense vocals.

Did a new BL production with an intriguing storyline, some real emotional heft, nice production and engaging quality performances just show up to pull me out of my BL slump? Very, very pleasantly surprised by these two episodes. I'm kinda bummed about the length of running time and number of episodes already, but if they keep this up, it might just be why it works so well. Fingers crossed!

Does anyone know where to find the OST? The singer in the closing song really goes all out. I'm loving it.

I had to power through 90% of the scenes with the FL. I guess, it's a type of acting or how the role was written and/or interpreted, but these overanimated, oh so very loud portrayals of female "cuteness" are so damn exhausting to watch. At one point I caught myself shushing my TV, because her loud delivery of lines, was distracting me from the story.

Besides, if any guy ever forcefully grapped my face like Kanata does multiple times with the FL, squishing it, while telling me to be quiet? I would end him. Or the way he pushes her away/down, making her trip or fall over - like she's an object, that's in the way? Haha, just no. I actually like the tsundere ML trope, but Kanata was in overdrive and should have dialed it down a notch as the story progressed.

MVP's here were the youngest brother (loved him!) and her girlfriend who was always doing something new with every phone call. SML had THE most warm and kind smile, btw.

My resolve to not spoil the ending for myself cracked during the ferris wheel scene. As soon as the phone changed hands, I knew I wouldn't be able to get through that scene without knowing the final outcome. Even so, that scene tore me completely up. It was as if 10 episodes worth of pent-up emotions were released during that one beautifully acted and executed scene. Very nicely done.

This comment section had me look up the anime version of the ending performance song, and oh my, that vocal delivery just added emotional layers, I was not ready for. It has the rawness, desperation, pain and regret, the live action song is unfortunately missing. Kudos to the voice actor in the anime - I started tearing up almost instantly. Guess, this is me going to look for the anime now.

Title Minato's Laundromat Spoiler
Episode 11 was such a blast, it almost made me completely forget most of my previously posted criticism. Maybe it's because I'm currently sick and this episode was mostly viewed by my fever, but I haven't laughed out loud this much during any of these episodes - in a good way.

* Asuka literally running around Tokyo dressed as a Poke Ball. And then they lose him and Akira says "I can't reach him on the phone either..." Too good! Yes, I know, it's some clothing brand, but don't spoil my fun.

* They've just stepped into the room, where they're to spend the night, and Akira is of course freaking out over the tiny (= massive according to the rest of humanity) room. Angel boy Shin doesn't miss a beat and delivers one of if not the most unsexy requests with a straight face: "I'll wash your underwear". It's the first time in the entire series, Akiras alarmed face actually matched the situation.

* Akira going to the store (to buy underwear - in itself kinda funny, so the other guys are just supposed to fend for themselves, or is he buying for them as well?) and next scene he's lost at some cemetery? Shin to the rescue, only he merely jumps at the chance to scare Akira even more (maybe he really just did want to wash that underwear?).

* Akira refusing to take part in the campus tour, as it would look strange for him being older to walk around with high schoolers? Oh honey, don't worry - you're literally behaving like a 12 year old 99% of the time, making the high schoolers look like senior citizens in comparison.

* Asuka in general being the MVP of this episode. I hadn't fully warmed up to him as a character up until this episode, but boy did that change during these 24 minutes. First he snatches Akiras bed, ruining his plan of distancing himself from Shin. Then he tells Akira, that it's OK to cross the line. I love him - why oh why, does he have to be wasted on a being devoid of emotion like Sakuma? That is one loveline I wish I could unsee.

* Angel Shin taking the "agressive younger ML" trope and making it his own epic thing. I'm amazed by how he can keep outdoing himself. It's like watching a poker game with one player, who keeps seeing and raising himself. I mean, that shower/towel scene almost had me blushing from his bluntness. Shin as a character is truly one for the books.

* The finale preview. Could it possibly be, they do not resort to the dreaded timeskip? And could it be, that Shin finally draws a line, and we get to see Akira actually having to fight for him? We (Shin & the viewers) deserve it.

How I love these kinds of dramas. It's like crawling up on the couch with a warm blanket and a nice cup of coffee. There's no overload on problems or angst, the story is so uncomplicated, you could argue, there isn't much of a story at all. But it works, because it's so very undemanding and comforting. Sprinkle on a little life wisdom and some very likable characters and I could easily watch a couple of seasons more.

The food is front and center and practically a cast member and oh my, it's some of the most delicious looking food, I've ever seen. The food and the shots of everyone savoring it are so mesmerizing, it almost becomes a sensual viewing experience. The cast must have had the best time going to work and stuffing their mouths with these dishes.
