Why would she stay in that house for 5 years? Why would he let her? Not to hurt Hye Joo is simply not a valid or acceptable reason.
The only good thing about this episode was the ending. It's about time, Hye Joo. Let them burn! Shoutout to Kim Hyun Joo this episode. That was some solid acting.
One episode left. It's going to be smooth sailing for my blood pressure after this show ends.
That ending scene! Did he just confess his crush and in the same breath deliver a verbal slap in the face to that clown mom? I swooned and cheered at the same time. Glorious!
They hurt Jae Woo......again?!! I'm about to throw hands.
Also the chemistry between Seon Jae and Geon Hoo just intensified and became a whole new storyline, I'd gladly watch.
I love how Chi Yeol is behaving and reacting more and more like a family man. Our ML has grown.
The current increase in promotion on SNS is not helping me deal with this wait for an international and/or subbed release. I'm about to explode and my expectations are so massively high, I'm afraid it'll work against my first viewing experience. I should stop following the promotion, but I can't look away (I want that stunning blue poster!).
Literally praying this gets picked up by just one movie theater in my country, so I can support this movie (and embarrass myself by sobbing uncontrollably in a public setting). I'll take having to stream it over not getting to watch it at all, but I feel this one should also be watched on a big screen in a theatre.
When they went for the second kiss in the rain, I wanted them so badly to stop. But then Yeon Woo slightly started to move his lips and I had a hopeful thought, they'd try harder and make it tolerable. Unfortunately his lips had stumbled right into Woo Jaes personal space, where passion comes to curl up & die, so we got awkward kiss take 2.
I'd take lingering gazes, hands slightly touching.....a hug? or a smile? over these kisses. Any day, any show. I don't even need kisses, if there's chemistry. But they didn't even have that, and I shipped Yeon Woo with the manager from the beginning.
Oh well, at least we got some nice scenery shots, a very long gratuitous look at Yeon Woos abs + a nice OST. "You in my Dream" sung by Oong is stunning!
My sentiments exactly. Why in gods name live in the same place as your rapist, or lover, why because the son lives…
Yes!
I swear, when JSH stood there all teary eyed talking about how she was afraid of losing CKY?! That one VERY tiny feeling of understanding, I'd had for her waaay back in earlier episodes - gone! She can join her horrible mom in the Han River for all I care. I can't believe KHJ keeps taking these emotional beatings and even try to reason with JSH. And seeing that episode 15 preview, it looks like KHJ will receive yet another huge emotional beating from her own daughter. *sigh*
I wanted her with CKY too, but maybe all these people should just go their separate ways and live some quiet secluded lives away from other humans.
And yes, I'm so stressed out and frustrated by this show, but still - I can't drop it, because it's so well done/acted. I'll be glad, when it ends next week though. I'm exhausted. :)
I am also suspicious of the love affair because based on what we've seen it doesn't make sense. I don't even think…
I've been in full clown gear since episode 5. Might as well keep these shoes on for the remaining episodes then. :) Exactly! It doesn't fit the narrative at all. Yes, politicians are often greedy power players with one track minds, but we've had no indication before (not even in the flash backs to when he was younger), that he would be so insane as they're making him out to be all of a sudden?! Where did this come from - he's a completely different person. ANY politician must know, that things can't be hidden. How can he be a predator himself, but out his son as one on TV? It's so leftfield. I don't know, where they're going with the affair either. The preview saw the noodle shop friend try to kill herself, yes - but why was that calender/image with the date for the son's graduation shown on the floor in the room with her? What's her connection to the son? This show is so stressful, but I can't not watch. 2 more episodes to go - then we're done with it.
I am glad i am not the only one who gets so caught up in Junghyun's dynamic/lively acting that i forget about…
Haha, glad to share this world of "oh, let's watch every scene +2 times" with you. At one point I considered, if I'd just become momentarily slow on the uptake, since I usually don't have this much trouble keeping up with the dialogue. I'm not even consciously zoning in on his face, he's just all over the place + combined with his shifts in tone of voice.....I mean, it's work to keep up with the guy. I do think they have a LOT of really fastpaced dialogue, when the two butt heads. I get distracted by how quickly they spit out these lines, that I also have to rewatch scenes to catch all their jabs/jokes.
A long chain of sexual assaults leading to idk what? Lets wait to hear that noodle shop lady'side. About Woo Jae…
He didn't even have to guess. It's plain logic. A grown man is right behind you by a river. The son of your boss, who've instructed you to follow/check on the boy. You turn and in less than a split second he's vanished. Woo Jae even looks around, and unless aliens scooped him up, it's not possible for him to physically disappear from sight like that so fast. So logic would tell anyone to check the water. You don't need a splash - there's no other place he could be. But it got the plot where they wanted, so I'll roll with it. I'm with you with the noodle lady - let's hear her side next episode. I'm still mindblown by the fact, she kept living in that house. Let's see, what more wth-moments they can sqeeze into the last episodes.
Yes, FL is silly for a doctor, but we've seen this kind of character in countless romcoms before. I can roll with it. I was more afraid, she would be too screechy, but I've seen way worse. I like the fastpaced bickering exchanges we've seen between our main couple.
It's hard to shine opposite Kim Jung Hyun, because he's a very charismatic and strong actor. Forget about hotness, he simply has an interesting face, and since his portrayal of Kokdu is so dynamic and embellished, FL doesn't pop as much in their shared scenes. His facial expressions, tone of voice, how he carries himself - Kokdu has a lot of personality, I keep having to rewatch scenes, because I'm so absorbed by his changing expressions, that I miss the dialogue. I like, how he looks mature - like he's been through the ringer - even in his more over the top scenes. It adds some seriousness to the role, that fits with his origin story.
I liked, that we had a little time with Jin Woo and saw how controlled and restrained he was, so we can now fully enjoy the fireworks of Kokdu. He radiates attitude, and it's a blast to see KJH have fun with the role. The guy has range and I'm so glad he's back on our screens.
We've definitely entered bat country! What is going on! Things don't add up. 10 minutes into the episode I was ready to believe Woo Jae was the one having the affair with Joong Do.
Why would she live in their house, if he raped her? Why would she live in their house, if they had an affair? Why didn't Woo Jae check the water before leaving? A person doesn't just vaporize like that. There was nowhere he could possibly be than in the water. Pure logic.
This entire episode was next level frustrating. When Seung Hee came in at the end and started on Hye Joo again, I almost lost it. Bye now!
I'm so annoyed, that the husband is becoming such a cliche. I'm ready to see Hye Joo explode and destroy all these people.
What's next? Ji Hoon is Yeo Jin & Joong Do's son? How many sexual assaults do we have in this show at this point?!
I am also suspicious of the love affair because based on what we've seen it doesn't make sense. I don't even think…
Oh, absolutely agree with everything, you write here. I don't think the affair is legit either. Otherwise the acting on both parts (husband + friend) is superior. I got the same vibes, that the friend doesn't really like the husband. I think/hope, the show is trolling us. And I'm with you in terms of wrapping up things. We don't have much time left and there's still so many lose ends to tie up.
However frustrating and melo-in-overdrive the story is, show is still extremely well done in terms of production, acting and keeping the intrigue/the mystery. This constantly shifting everyone's motives, guilt and blame is driving me up the wall, but it's also the main reason, I keep watching.
The whole affair deal - I so wanted ML to not turn into such a cliche. I wanted their trust/love to be what was tested, but also to see it be the reason, their relationship prevails. It could still be, what happens, but if this affair really turns out to be real (it does feel kinda leftfield, so I'm suspicious), that should be the end, seeing as FL so far/supposedly is so pure.
I'm starting to suspect Woo Jae again in terms of a direct involvement in the death of Ji Hoon. It could also be the pimp/drug dealer, but wouldn't that be too standard?
I agree with the rest of the comments here, that there could be more to the FL past story revolving around the assault, than we're seeing. It could be a huge upcoming twist. For sure, they're not done with those yet.
I hope, we get the pleasure of watching FL grow that thicker skin Woo Jae wanted and start asserting herself - maybe through that TV appearence/interview? I'd like to see the same for Ki Young. Now there's a guy who just needs to run like there's no tomorrow. The guy is literally a sheep caught in the jaws and getting pulled apart by two wolves.
Honestly, what gets to me the most right now, is the thought of having to endure three more episodes with the mom/daughter team from hell. They disgust me to no end.
Sometimes make me wonder if Mr Ji is tooo protective about Choi that he's clearing out people who dislike Choi
No, don't even suggest this. He's Mr. Sunny Man. He can't be the bad guy. But...the metal bullet guy sure is getting rid of some "problem people" directly making things difficult for ML. That stalker girl student, that other rude student boy, who took the spot from Hae Yi, the crazy teacher dude. Now I guess, he can't begin going after these moms. Oh, it better not be him. I hope it's someone, we haven't seen in the show yet.
I can't decide, who captures my heart more: a smitten Choi Chi Yeol or a smitten Nam Jae Woo. I'm so swept up in the wholesome, good stuff right now, that all the dark stuff kinda fades into the background.
Why would he let her?
Not to hurt Hye Joo is simply not a valid or acceptable reason.

I need these last couple of episodes yesterday!
