I don't care, that we all saw it coming. This guy rolling on the dark side, is steadily becoming something I like to see. He looked awesome in that suit sipping his whisky. And while I dig our team and the stories of the week setup, this show needs a bigger villain/plot, so I'm hoping this will up the intensity, intrigue and action.
Coming straight from watching Jung Moon Sung in The Good Detective 2, his role here feels like entering the twilight zone. I'm enjoying this male trio and I hope show will keep introducing us to not only ML's past/emotional baggage, but also what's going on with the other two.
Adding that intern lawyer guy to the mix looks like it could be fun looking at the ep. 4 preview. Whether the plan is for a romance to happen between FL & ML or not, I'm hoping they won't go there or keep it at One Dollar Lawyer level. This kind of show doesn't need a fullblown love storyline.
Don't jinx it.Also, if you like this one and My Mister, I would recommend to you: my liberation notes
Oh, don't even say it. 😓 I watched My Liberation Notes, and even though I liked it, it didn't grab me as much as My Mister, Lost or this show. *knock on wood*
6 episodes in out of 16 and I'm beginning to fear, this show will do a typical "Kdrama 180" and become really disappointing in the second half/final episodes. This is so, so very good and I can't even put into words anymore, why I love it.
If you are watching and loving the tone, cinematography, the dynamic, the dialogue and haven't watched Lost or My Mister- these two shows and My Mister especially should be your next move.
I can't figure out if I'm mostly willing it into existence at this point, or if it's really there. Either way: this show has My Mister written all over it up until now, which is why I'm hoping so badly, that it will stick the landing as surely and satisfying as My Mister did.
I'm glad to see in the comment section for the movie, that there wasn't anything added, bc I just watched both…
I feel so much for Ji Woo and understand why he's acting the way he is, how much he's keeping it all in, how painful and exhausting it is to keep those walls up, keep pushing people away and most of all testing them. I love how Kim Kang Min handles this and how he releases the tension, when the walls come crashing down both in the first series and this one. It's so moving to see how much it takes for Seo Joon to tear those walls down. Like in the first series during the scene at the end, when Seo Joon says he'll come to Ji Woo, who's standing there glued to the floor. He has to walk over to him, kiss him and hold his hand before Ji Woo finally relaxes his body and gives in. This one scene sums up their dynamic, why they work and why they fall apart so well. It's the wall, the push and the test - and it's Seo Hoon seeing through it all, trusting that if he keeps trying, Ji Woo will let him in. The details here are so great and I think keeping that particular scene in mind, when all the angst is unleashed in the second series, goes a long way in maybe not seeing Ji Woo as solely an unreasonable jerk. I love, how they repeat that scene at the end of season 2, only this time, it's Ji Woo who's coming to Seo Yoon.
And well, in this second series it's the scene when he turns on his mobile phone and the messages from Seo Joon start ticking in that just breaks me. The realization on Ji Woos end - how he finally gets, what he's done/lost - and Seo Joon's total heartbreak and loneliness oozing through those messages. It's a flawless scene!
How unbelievably strong Seo Hoon is. He could and should have bended to Ji Woos testing him, but he doesn't. Most people would give up, but he keeps taking it. To think that if Seo Joon wasn't the person he is, these two would never have been, is heartbreaking. He's the reason in both series, we get our happy ending.
I'm glad to see in the comment section for the movie, that there wasn't anything added, bc I just watched both versions and didn't see any difference and thought I was just slow to catch it.
I still love this second series way more than the first. Han Ji Woo is still one of my favourite characters and Kim Kang Min conveys his complexity/simplicity so well. He's so guarded, yet so transparent at the same time and the way he's able to balance it in his acting is very nicely done. I can't/don't see him as being a jerk at all, but I'll keep that part in my spoiler comment.
The chemistry here between the ML's is still mostly unparalleled, and I wish and hope for many more productions in this genre, that pay as much attention to and show as much care for the story and the characters as in this entire series.
Just watched this version, and honestly didn't see any difference besides everything being put together for one long unbroken watch (still felt too short though). Absolutely adore this couple - even more on this second watch. Han Ji Woo is such a great character and Kim Kang Min nails the portrayal. The chemistry is in terms of KBL's still mostly unparalleled. I could watch 100 more episodes of these two just living their lives together and not be bored.
And what a stellar OST "I'll be there" is. I still get all the feels, whenever I listen to it. It's the perfect mix of happy and melancholic.
I was intensely summoning a blood demon to appear at that point, trip over one of Van's rock displays and crash…
Oh my god, I'm about to go to sleep, bc I have to get up early, and you throw this kind of info at me?! + Kim Jae Wook is in it too? 🤣🤐
I have watched too few of his dramas/movies. Through the Darkness and then I stumbled into "No Regret", wasn't prepared at all and couldn't even recognize him most of the movie. Now Island.
Will most definitely check out "Bad Guy". Thanks for the tip.
I was intensely summoning a blood demon to appear at that point, trip over one of Van's rock displays and crash…
I'm actually with you on this one. He really excels in these kinds of roles. I fell head over heels for him in Through The Darkness (the man can wear all black better than most), and up until the last couple of episodes in Island I was fine with him just being badass, dark and broody (I won't soon forget his intro scene in Island pt. 1 - oh...so good!), but then they just had to take it a step further - from when he laid eyes on Mi Ho in the white dress to the near kiss in the cave. And now, I'm in full romance mode and can't delete it from my mind. 😁
I like the mix too, and he does action/comedy really well, but just give me ONE fullblown melo/romance with him to get it out of my system.
Oh YES! Train was a good show. Yoon Shi Yoon - love him! 😍
I was intensely summoning a blood demon to appear at that point, trip over one of Van's rock displays and crash…
Oh god yes. it really is all about his micro expressions. There were so many moments in episode 4 alone, where I was like "how does he hardly move his face and express so much emotion". You haven't watched Through The Darkness yet? If not, please do. It was my first drama of his and if you like him intense, troubled and kinda dark - just go and enjoy the ride. 😁

I don't get it. He wants it. We want it. The universe wants it. The man is a walking "romance" tag. And what is wrong with a combo? It worked in Healer. Oh...I just imagined him in that kind of role. Help....😍😍
THAT SCENE AT THE CAMPFIRE AAAA😭😭😭 van and miho are giving me brainworms istg
I was intensely summoning a blood demon to appear at that point, trip over one of Van's rock displays and crash into Mi-Ho, pushing her face straight into his, leaving her no choice, but to kiss the man. Now, where is my Kim Nam Gil romance drama?!
I also love kim nam gill's subtle expression changes. There's this part in season 1, right after he nearly kill…
OK, you just had me move Fiery Priest back to the top of my TWL. I put it on hold halfway through episode 1, because I prefer him angsty, gloomy, intense and badass (Through the Darkness and now Island deliver this is spades).
I forgot to breathe during the piano scene at the end of episode 2. Oh my god, he's handsome. That was some nice acting by the kid, who played the son, btw. He tore me up. I'm honestly over the singing already, but I sense it'll be a recurring deal. I'll roll with it. 😊
I tried several times to watch my mister, I couldnt get into it. Read the reviews and comments. So many people…
My Mister wasn't a direct hit with me either. I tried getting through the first episode multiple times, before I was hooked. I think, if you like Call it Love now, it could be your gateway to getting into My Mister too. Because there are a lot of similarities - especially in tone, cinematography and how ML/FL interact. Of course some shows simply don't connect with you and there's no point in forcing it.
I'm just so pleased to see all the love, this show is getting - and if people discover My Mister because of it - even better. 😀
I found him suspicious the moment he appeared. It is like he was parachuted there. His has an innocent look and…
And the way they deal with his curiousness and almost finding out about their sidegig is weird too. "Oh, let's just stick a wrench in the elevator, so he can have a good look, but not physically enter the basement"? Yeah, like that would stop him from trying...
OMG me too, i see it coming since episode 1 or 2 in CCIR...lol now here ugh!
I got the same shifty vibes early on in CCIR too, but I stuck to my delusion of thinking the show was trolling us, because I didn't want to deal. Now it's happening all over again. 🤡🤡🤡
Fr, i focused on his every move 🤣 like, is he a detective who disguise there or he's just a real innocent
Haha, yes! I was thinking, he might be some chaebol kid seeing as he can't drive a car without crashing it (used to having a driver), he doesn't seem to be used to having a job (he's stumbling around the place like a bat caught in direct sunlight) + he was so skilled in terms of apartment hunting (that apartment looked pretty expensive). He definitely isn't who he appears to be.
Yup i too thought him moving to kim's place and helping with car escape and curiosity of his is making doubt he…
Exactly! Problem is - he's acting all innocent, when he's alone too. No bad guy would behave like that, when no one is watching. But I still don't trust him.
