If you're refering to the final scene, I believe it might be a vision from the shaman. The reason I think this is because she was doing her ritual and then we cut to a scene which feels very heavy with symbolism: Queen Woo is alone (her husband is dead) in a dark forest (a place of mystery, where you can easily get lost), she turns to see an empty throne with crows on it (a bad omen, or could represent the people vying for the throne), and suddenly realizes she has a sword in her hand (she must fight them off, or if the sword is the old sword from the king that she sent to have fixed in ep 1, could represent her legitimacy as ruler). That's as best as I can figure.
If this question was about the political stuff, I'm berely hanging in there with following all these people so I regret to say I can't help you, lol!
Watched the first 4 episodes before checking the rating or reactions on here and I'm glad I did because I'm enjoying it and 7.8 feels underscored. Might've been put off it if I'd seen the rating/discourse before, so I'm glad I just jumped into it!
I'm not pointing fingers at anyone specific but IF it's because of the nudity/violence, it's stupid because the rating tells you what you're getting into. If you don't like mature content, don't watch mature shows. The whole 'it's copying Chinese history' bit, idk man that's probably for the historians to duke it out, not random MDL users. Will be watching the rest when it drops!
I thought ML would get a haircut which would make him more handsome than leaving the glasses and I also thought…
Hi, yeah, so it's actually *good* for characters to be flawed at the start of a story, because that means they can have an arc that will allow them to develop and grow as people. If they're perfect and flawless from the beginning, it makes for a more boring story, as the character will remain static the whole time. For this reason, I love to have flawed protagonists!
As soon as the FL walked out of Subway looking distressed, I knew we were SO back 🔥🔥🔥
Jokes aside, had a good laugh with the first two eps! Love how both leads are so snarky, yet not bad people. I like the storyline with the sisters and the mom, it gives the show some emotional grounding as they navigate their mother's illness and the relationships they have with each other. Interested to see how this will all develop! Also, feeling hella validated because I've been saying KYD looks good with the mullet haircut and a bunch of people that he looked awful, and personal taste is valid but the end of ep 2 is stating that he looks hot with it in-universe so heck yeah 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed the interview scene in this show. It offers a clear glimpse into Jiwook’s character: he’s…
I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right! They're both preoccupied with fairness. Due to her trauma, her view skews more toward "I was denied, so I must even the playing field" but his leans more towards "I must fill in gaps, so things are better for everyone". Two different approaches to the same problem (that the world is unfair). I hope we get to find out why he's like that, and I can't wait for them to realize that they have common ground!
our birth rates are declining, what should we do?promote marriage with dramasgood idea, what's that?cheating!
Not cheating, just propaganda. All countries use their media to promote things that matter to them. For example, the US Military making deals with Hollywood movies to portray them in a good light in exchange for money or access to equipment/filming locations.
If you have Netflix set to english and you're watching a show that's not in english but they suddenly speak english,…
But is the account itself set to english? Not the individual episode settings, but the account. I have my account set in english even though it's not my language and most of what I watch in there are kdramas.
lol k superstition reading some comments.... dont know what version you saw some but mine had english subbed even…
If you have Netflix set to english and you're watching a show that's not in english but they suddenly speak english, it often turns off subtitles, as the switch has been made into a language the user supposedly understands
I'm usually not a big fan of childhood-friends-to-lovers as a trope, but this one is hitting! Goes to show all you need is good execution to convince me. Seunghyo's face when she hugged him at the end, heLLO?? Them putting a curse on all the people who screwed Seokryu over was too good. They set her up as being the crazier of the two, but this was a good moment of them matching eachothers freak and I loved it!
Also, anyone else feeling that the random child is Danho's kid? They emphasized the girl's dad teaching her all kinds of things (no mention of a mom), Moeum notes her curiosity and intelligence (makes sense for the child of a writer/journalist), and in the preview we see her run into him in what appears to be the same area the kid was hanging out in. He's been pretty evasive regarding his personal life so far, which would make sense bc society can be pretty unfair towards single parents. I think it would be a pretty funny set-up for a relationship for Moeun to like the little girl so much, only to realize the girl's dad is the guy she keeps running into and bickering with. Also, neighbors! The mom is gonna try to set them up and it'll be hilarious.
That detail has intrigued me since I first read about it! I can only hope that the reason they greenlit it at…
Yess! I'm already on board with the whole thing, all they have to do is not mess it up, because if they do, it'll be a terrible, weeks-long drag. But I like being an optimist, so I'll hope for the best!
Pretty interesting how there’s already a spin-off of this drama when it hasn’t even aired. 😂 Can’t and…
That detail has intrigued me since I first read about it! I can only hope that the reason they greenlit it at all is because the story/chemistry is so good that they were SURE audiences will love it. Because it feels like an unnecesary risk to take otherwise, so here's hoping!
Regarding The Glory, it’s more like Korean movies not western shows. I’m so tired of this argument. The irony…
Hard agree! So many people complain that kdramas are becoming 'westernized' (an idea I have issues with), then point to sex/nudity, excessive smoking, too much violence/gore as proof and I literally had to reply to someone with that same statement of "none of these things are uniquely western concepts and it's ridiculous to pretend like they are". They say these things so confidently, like they're experts on Korean culture, when that kind of statement really just proves the opposite!
OP is braver than the marines FR FR, truly decided to f*ck around and find out. Sometimes the results were good (love that for you) and sometimes they were truly terrifying. I salute you, couldn't be me!
Really liking it so far! I'm feeling a mix of 'Doctor Slump' and 'Welcome to Salmdalri' here. Also, can't wait to see more of the second couple because as soon as SML was like "I got a red belt!", immediately face-planted and then the SFL was like "well, I have a black belt" and actually did the thing, I was sold on the ship. Adorkable is (for me) a new side to this actor, can't wait for more!

Anyway, I'm really enjoying this show so far!
(Loved 'The Glory' btw!)
