well this is normal for me .USA is a strategical and economical ally to S.KOREA . some of the best universities…
True! Also, they literally mention France multiple times, as ML was apparently born and spent his first few years there. His mom is a diplomat, they later mention a potential assignment in Tunisia. So the complaint of "haven't they heard of another country besides America?" isn't even accurate

does anyone know if they will release the sequel (Han jihyun and Sang Yi story) at the same time ?
I can't find the source rn (sorry!) but I remember reading in some article on this site that it was going to start airing as soon as the main show ends. Like, it might take over the time slot? If anyone has the source pls verify!

It really makes me sad (even tho i try not to give a damn) that SO many are deeply dissapointed and complaining…
He's not the best actor out there but I find him weirdly compelling? I've only seen him in 'The Forbidden Marriage' and I really liked him there. He tapped into this intensely earnest energy that suited the character well, and was also pretty funny at times. So I personally think it'll be fine, since this is a contemporary romcom. I enjoyed 'Her Private Life' so I hope this is also enjoyable like that!

I am still trying to get over the image of YJO from MLL and SE didn't do much to help with it, hopefully this…
As someone who unfortunately also watched MLL and still lowkey wants to throw hands with the writers for what they did to him (the whole reveal had a whiff of homophobia about it, imo), I later watched 'Tomorrow'and loved him in that! An interesting character that doesn't rely on unfortunate stereotypes to give him any sort of substance. Highly recommend!

Didn't they start at the same time though? Like, how would she even have known? I was also a bit puzzled by the killer and her motivations.

Why are kdramas so obsessed with crazy females having to have curly hair. All of a sudden now that we know the…
I noticed the curly hair thing as well. In kdramas it's often used (particularly in the case of women) to denote a crazy or unhinged woman. They're not always evil, but they have to be kooky or 'not normal' in some other way (for example, Bo-ra in the show 'Glitch' is obsessed with aliens to the point of it negatively affecting her life). As a curly hair girlie who is a perfectly functional member of society, rude??? I know it's probably a thing to do with their beauty standards but it's just kinda yeesh. Clearly there's people with curlier hair hair in Korea (even if it's less common overall), so to 'otherize' that feature by not just putting straight hair as the standard but going the extra step of using curly hair to denote something negative is pretty messed up, imo. Especially since in many places worldwide there have been movements in the past few years to get people to embrace their natural hair.

Sorry for the rant, but it's been on my mind recently so I clocked it as soon as I saw ep 15!

You say "Just because you make something with 16 episodes and Korean actors, that doesn't make it a Kdrama. " Now I'm curious as to what your definition of a kdrama is, haha. I don't mean this sarcastically, btw, I'm actually curious!

Hi! I didn't mean the core group of guys, they were great and I loved them. I meant the Kitty gang dudes and the dad. They're supposed to be such a huge threat, but didn't really feel like one (to me, anyways!). For more threatening gangsters in kdramas, we'd have to step away from the rom-com genre a bit in head in the direction of crime thrillers. Something like 'My Name' (a very good show, but one that caused me genuine distress) would be a good example of gangsters that had me ready to run for the hills. Again, I'm not expecting that level of thing for a rom-com, but I wish they'd been at least a *little* more threatening so the show would have slightly higher stakes. If you brought in the crime aspect, you gotta commit to the bit!

Listen, I got questions about the hair because why does it look like a coconut head wig in the first picture, but a natural and fashionable mullet in the third? As long as we keep it looking more like the third picture, it's all good. I like dudes with longer hair, but kdramas HATE them so I know his beautiful locks will be chopped off before this is all over and FL will suddenly realize that he's actually handsome or whatever. Justice for my long-haired dudes!

There were many parts of this that I thoroughly enjoyed, but the pacing had a lot of issues. Things that should've happened earlier took too many episodes to come to fruition, so the story felt like it was moving at a glacial pace. The gangsters didn't feel particularly threatening, and I do mean the actual gangsters, not the reformed ones. Also, I wish the FL would've had more of an arc because it often felt like she was just...there. Glad the SML at least learned something though, why was his emotional arc more clear than the FL?? Make it make sense. 8/10 for me!

Is there romance in this drama?
A bit, yes! But it's a subplot, not the main thing!

I don't know in SK,but in other countries you can't prosecute in a case you're involve in...
Right?!Bc that would 1000% emotionally compromise a case (exactly what's happening here), which is terrible when it comes to law stuff. Someone needs to check him!
On My Sweet Mobster Jun 28, 2024
Honestly, the prosecutor guy is a terrible prosecutor because building a case off circumstantial evidence and your own prejudice is kinda the opposite of what a prosecutor should do AND YET πŸ’€

So, in Ep. 6, did FL best friend the hairdresser have a one night stand with the Thirsty Deer Lawyer or was she…
I think they did because after the water is dumped on them, the camera shifts focus from them to the hotel behind them. In the flashes we see they have the same clothes and they're not dry. More than that, we see basically the same thing from *both* of their perspectives as they zone out the next morning. And anyway, they had stated Lawyer Man has had "lots of girlfriends", so I'd say signs point to yes. I'm here for it, 100%
Maybe the writers gave us a more proactive second couple because the leads will probably take a bit longer to get anywhere!

Title My Lovely Liar Spoiler
I watched this show when it was airing almost a year ago and I'm still mad about how dirty they did the friend of the ML. The reveal sequence of him being gay, him being the killer and then him IMMEDIATELY trying to kill himself reeks of homophobia. Though I liked the main couple well enough (FL's actress was carrying, ML is a pretty bland actor, but I really liked them bonding over soccer and the initial "did he do it or not?" vibes), it kinda comes out feeling like the suffering of a queer character was the price to pay for the main couple's happiness and I don't care for that at all. Not saying that was the writer's intention, but that's kinda the optics you're left with.
