Always wild to me how a decent drama never seems to have its intended audience show up on its MDL page. I'm enjoying this, and I'm 1000% positive the creative team knew exactly the type of people who would hate this and prepared themselves in advance haha. I'm enjoying seeing a script that takes chances and is exploring things that not many other are willing to in lieu of just catering to what masses want to see.

sorry, you're not fully reading my comment. i know it has happened where a controvery happens and actors in upcoming productions are replaced by ai- i can think of several times.
this instance, however, is the first that I am aware of where a controversy happens and a production that was released 10 years ago has been retroactively face swapped- long before the alleged crime.

yeah it would be much more touching if he hadnt just watched his father order him on his knees and force the girl he loves to marry him as a concubine (even if his hand was forced). it seems more in service of emotional build up so it hurts more when his dad probably dies (im guessing ofc) in sacrifice, but i wish there was at least some emotional nuance from chunzi...some like hesitation or bitterness while trying to swallow the pill anyways

I'm familiar with the customs, and I'm also familiar with (some) straight womens plights. What I'm saying is that this is a realistic character, whether its enjoyable or not, relatable or not.
i know times were different back then, but i still don't get ye ying's devotion to prince li. esp after watching…

It is an unfinished manga by Osamu Tezuka who passed away before he could complete it, but still regarded as one of the greatest manga stories of all time
