i have read it, its a beautiful story! many chinese webnovels get way up there in length, its somewhat part of the appeal. if it appeases you somewhat- there is rumor of a NEW adaptation of this, set to film in macau this year
Why are there many reviews with extremely low rating like all on top with 3 or 4 ratings๐ are they review bombing?
I just finally started watching this for the first time and was surprised by that as well...I don't get involved in specific real people fandoms but it does seem like a targeted hater situation (idk for whom). This drama is perfectly fun and good so far
queerbait ๐๐ anyway its good but traumatising obviously ๐ญ๐ญ
well Park Mi Jin is canonically queer! so not queerbait technically, but not requited either :C theyre both in s2 so maybe theyll get together then! *fingers crossed*
Agreed. Too many 'male centric' drama and donghua already. I'm tired of them! This show is refreshing!
Nooooo, come back! Let me lick the boot! I really really value your input and am glad you went out of your way to try and scold me for enjoying fiction- I promise I'll learn from my mistakes and make a big frown when people do bad things on TV next time๐

Oh Officer, I'm so glad you're here- Rong Shanbao, who is real, actually told me last night "who cares about the Fictional Morality Police? They'll never catch me in the act anyways" and then went back into the TV. I'm happy to provide a statement down at the precinct, if that's helpful, I'm similarly appalled at this kind of behavior from her ๐
With all the comments I thought I'd dread the last arc but I actually flew through it. This whole drama was 9/10…
Agreed on all fronts! It had some minor weak points but once I got to the very end everything wrapped up really well and really sold the 'theme' of choice and agency for me. And agreed, he looked good in his official attire but his best look was when he was disheveled and depressed when we first see him in the duke's house towards the end XD

Agreed, and I love them too! but there's SO many of them, so getting a well written (with some flaws of course, but what drama doesnt have them) fun slightly toxic women-centered drama is an absolute blessing
No, that's not it. That's not why this drama isn't the best.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't particularly want to know it on my post. I'm only talking about the critiques about the 'female centric drama'. If that doesn't apply, then it doesn't apply.
Seeing people complain that this is a 'female' 'centric' 'drama' when I've never even seen anyone call other dramas 'male centric' is crazy to say the least. Hou Minghao still enjoys plenty of screentime and character development and does a great job as Lu JiangLai.
Perhaps I'm biased because I like women as people and love when they get to be flawed/"unlikable"/cunning in fiction? So if you also enjoy those things, this might be a fun one for you.
All the little bits about tea culture at the end of the episodes were really fun and neat. Its nice to learn something…
i realized only midway through that i was missing these by skipping to the next ep- excited to go back and watch them all, they were so thoughtful and cute
although I like the time travel idea but I also prefer the original story from donghua. for example immortal BiZhi…
ooh yeah i see, makes sense then. this live action is the first of any of them i'm seeing, i'm definitely gonna checkout the donghua next and perhaps the novel
like they tried to justify it by being like 'we dont know what happens to usagi if you let the baby bracelet die' (lmao) but i just dont know why it was included in the first place. that game was not more compelling for the stupid bracelet and usagi having to count as 2
There are so many good critiques of why this season was baffling and not in the direction that supported the first 2 seasons themes, but the one i can't get over is how freaking Usagi is supposedly pregnant, but the doctor literally says it does not even have a heartbeat yet and she probably doesnt even know about it- but then its literally got its own bracelet in the final game? what nonsense is this.
i know that's like. the least of the worries with the writing happening in this season but it was the breaking point for me XD
