The first girl puts a curse that they she wants all of them to die (as in those who uses the app). Then the next girl makes that curse repeat itself. So even if someone wishes they live (aka break the original curse), it will backfire. The person wishing will still die and the ghost will probably go berserk like how Geon Woo was when they tried to stop his timer digitally.
“The drama places heavy emphasis on the sanctity of family, almost to an exaggerated degree. It pushes the idea that blood ties justify everything, no matter how extreme the wrongdoing. This makes the eventual harmonious ending feel staged and unearned.”
I totally agree with this and many other points you made. This is a well-written review!
I was so disappointed in Xie Zheng's final duel with his uncle, like they couldn't have picked some interesting…
IKR!! Honestly episode 39 is just the worst for me. An example is as you mentioned, with so little action and so little NPCs, why choose an open, big courtyard. It didn’t look like a battle lmao. Qi Min’s plans just failed miserably.
Love your review! I agree with the things that this drama missed and also agreed with that this drama highlights. Your take on QM and QQ's relationship being parallel to XZ and CY's gives me new perspective. That ending sentence, is that a quote from the drama?
Chang Yu’s move was so reckless. Xie Zheng was trying to keep unnecessary casualties and risks to a minimum yet here she is being impulsive. She got lucky.
I love how you make separate lists for best script, cinematography, story, and screenplay. I also appreciate you writing notes as to why and what you like from the dramas on the lists.
