First I confess that I’m a huge fan of Lee Dong Wook. He is the only reason I’m watching this. Still I have to admit I’m having a hard time getting through it. Who thought this was a good idea for a drama? Seriously? Its boring. Risk assessments, insurance, actuary, bla bla bla bla bla…. (And I’m asleep). This isn’t riveting stuff. I haven’t even made it through episode one. Those who have watched it all, please help me. Should I drop it? I don’t want to keep watching if it a lot of insurance business talk. I like really romantic character driven dramas. Should I stick it out?

I liked this drama more than I thought I would. Season 2 please. I need to see more. I’ll even give a starting point…Every has gone off on their own, and went to therapy to worked on themselves for the past few years, and are now ready to find love again.
BTW I am currently on episode 6 waiting for 7 to drop on Viki so I don’t actually know how the series ends so this isn’t any kind of Spoiler. I do really think everyone could benefit from a therapist 😂

Okay, I didn’t drop it. I pushed through to the end. I was still uncomfortable when he set boundaries by letting him know he wasn’t attracted to him yet the Director continued to pursue. Then I was getting major second hand embarrassment for the Director. And then started feeling bad for him because ML was unknowingly leading him on. It was a good drama and I was entertained but this gave me a roller coaster ride of emotions.

I’m on episode 4 and I’m having a hard time getting through it. It’s giving me major sexual harassment vibes. Does it get better? I don’t understand why the ML is not settling boundaries with his boss. Is it because he is fearful of the repercussions on his job or because he is actually interested. So far the series isn’t making it clear. I have been in a similar situation where a person in a position of power confessed thinking I liked him when I didn’t. It was so stressful and traumatic and awkward and I eventually left the company to get away from it. It’s sad because I did like it there. It was such a stressful time in my life this is so triggering. I’m wondering if I shouldn’t be watching this. I have heard it’s good and I love Japanese BL but I can’t watch it if it’s going to be like this. Dropping it for not. Let me know if I should pick it back up or stay away because of a triggering past.

Yamada is the heroine of this BL. She certainly gave the most unhinged performance. This was great. The ending gave me all the feels.

- Loving the urgency in which the ML runs and jumps over tables.
- Do you think the ML ran Track in High School?
- The part where the evil side chick sets up the FL so scaffolding falls on her. It had so many cuts and replays, trying so hard to make evil chick look gangster. That made me laugh so hard.
- ML just continues to force kisses on her. Why is that hot? In my romance dramas it’s kind of sexy and hot. In real life, call the police, that assault. I’m here for the fantasy. Still it’s not good for “forced kissing” to be normalized. I’m so conflicted.
- Now they are dancing to no music. I know it’s low budget but couldn’t you find some cheap songs. I hear “Happy Birthday” is public domain.
- Does this drama make any sense?
- FL likes to over complicate things.
- Oh no, The White Truck of Doom! Whew, that was a close one. I thought maybe they were going to add in amnesia.
- I need her handbags. The white Dior. The white Hermes. I’ll take them all.
- Hold on. Wait. Now her sister is upset the FL is married to ML because she had a brief encounter with him that lasted seconds. Oh but he saved her from traffic so she really should be in love. She is crazy bananas.
- The bread scene. Oddly erotic. Is this sexy? hmmm….No, I don’t think it’s hot. I’m conflicted. What the heck am I watching? They copied KinnPorsche here.
- The ML is in love with FL, Penny, but does he even know what her last name is?
- the hostage situation - unintentionally hilarious. Keep the crazy train coming. “I’m getting back at you because you hurt my sister.” - “The same sister that tried to kill my baby?” Please tell me the pressed charges.
- FL’s pants are on fire because she is a liar! Maybe if you just told the guy you loved that you were actually his wife than he wouldn’t be so harsh. This FL is a hot mess.
- The courthouse scene. Poor guy… “It’s all my fault” That girl got him so messed up. “Run! Don’t walk. Run away from her!” Bless his heart… he is acting the heck out of this scene.
- the tools. I thought we were finally gonna get amnesia in the storyline.
- Six minutes left and she is still asking for a divorce. Give her a divorce!
- Yay! Happy Ending!!
- these Chinese Short dramas are total craziness. I’m here for it. ❤️ Let’s face it, this isn’t Shakespeare. Still it has its charms.

This drama is wacky. It’s full of cringe, cheese, and campy moments but totally entertaining. A guilty pleasure. I’m watching this one by myself but I feel the need to commentate as I am watching it and because I’ve got no one here listening to me right now, I’m just going to put this here. (see spoiler in comments)…

Okay, there is a noise in this drama played in the background of so many (way way too many) scenes. This noise is meant to set an erie ambiance and heighten tension to the scene. It’s like a super high pitch grinder or some other type of machinery that is in desperate need of WD-40. It’s incredibly annoying. SUPER ANNOYING!!!! Like nails on a chalk board annoying. At first I thought something was wrong with my furnace until I hit pause. Why would they do this? It’s like torture for the viewers. Otherwise it’s a really good drama. I’m on episode 14.

Did anyone else feel like the FL looked like she was trying to play a blind woman? She wouldn’t look in anyone’s eyes and would look off to the side. It was so strange. It was like she didn’t have any life behind those eyes.

Yes, I agree. A drama needs a proper evil villain to be memorable. These dramas are just “meh.”

Who writes this stuff? It sure seems like it’s men writing for men because I can’t see this being appealing to any women. So often the women are written in these dramas like this one, young, innocent, meek, uneducated, and totally dependent on the man. That’s not how I like my romance dramas. As a strong, confident, independent, educated woman I find her behavior very cringe and the men’s behavior predatory and creepy. With all that said, this isn’t the worst Japanese drama I have seen. At least the writers gave her some talent with her art and allowed her some character growth. Overall it’s an okay drama, just “meh.”

A delightful show. Waiting for Season 2.

This drama is given chaotic energy and I’m here for it.

On a whim I just started watching this again. Honestly I had forgotten KSH was in it. As soon as it started I recognized him but had to looked him up to be certain. I watch a large amount of dramas and he’s not one of my favorites but I like him as an actor. He is talented. It’s astonishing the amount of tears he had to cry in Queen of Tears.
I’m from the US so the KSH scandal isn’t news here. I do know what’s going on by reading articles/comments about him on here and watching YouTube. Wow, this has really tanked his career. Watching this drama again is crazy because so much of what is happening in real life to KSH parallels the FL career in this drama. A example of “art imitating real life,” in this drama there is an actress that was thought to have commit suicide and her fans/media blame her death on the FL, who is a popular actress, and her career suffers greatly because of it. I’ve got to admit that it’s a bit unsettling. Also in this the ML in this comes to earth 400 years ago and immediately forms a fate/destiny like connection with a teenage girl. He played by an adult male, KSH. In the drama they keep things platonic while still giving a somewhat romantic vibe. Who on the writing staff thinks that these adult men / young girls relationships are a good idea? Gross. Just gross.
It’s funny because I just finished “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” last night. I thought the storyline of the rumor that the FL dated her student when he was underaged was parallel to KSH. If he has indeed been messing with underage girls then this is karma. However if the rumors are false then I can’t help feel sympathy for him, like I feel for the FL in these dramas that had their careers ruined in a similar way. I’m waiting to see how it all plays out in a court of law before I pass judgement. Still so strange to be watching these dramas that are eerily similar. I really do feel uncomfortable with the amount of pressure that these actors are under to be perfect and keep their reputations 100% clean. I would buckle under that much scrutiny.

I am on episode 10 and I admit this is a hard one to get through. I keep falling a sleep and having to rewind what I missed. I’m starting to find the OST songs annoying. They are distracting and playing on repeat. I like the ML and I like the FL but I’m not sure I like them together. It’s not the age thing. It’s just she spent the first half treating him like a kid/student. Now it just feels a bit icky because of it. I’m not interested in the educational system and the cut throat teaching academies. I just want to watch romance. Should I drop it? Anything more worth the watch?

That dad had to crash his rental into a rock so that his kids could sleep at a better/safer place. 😂
