Yeah. Tripp and Alys date in book 2 but they go back to the Philippines after .. I think 5 years? and Drake comes back into her life and it’s a whole thing. Not a great ending for anyone, I personally think it was rushed.

It’s so funny bc on MDL, everyone hates Drake. On Twitter, everyone hates Tripp 😂 It’s like tsitp all over again

Sharia is suicidal and self harms. She tried to 💀 herself so Drake had to leave Alys

From what I can remember from the book.. (main points only)
- Drake leaves Alys at her debut bc Sharia tried to 💀 herself
- Alys breaks up with Drake and Drake tells her he loves her when she tries to walk away
- Alys moves into the same apt complex as Drake and tries to hide from him after their “break up” but Drake basically bugs her and she starts getting soft again 🙄
- Sharia tells Alys they can finally be friends bc Alys and Drake broke up, invited Tripp and Alys to her house to hang
- Tripp basically starts flirting with Alys in front of Drake
- Drake gets jealous and asks Alys to get back together with him
- Alys agrees but she wants to keep their relationship a secret (I can’t remember why)
- Drake gets annoyed that they have to hide their relationship and Alys tries to make up for it by making them FB official (let’s remember this was written back when FB was all the hype)
- Tripp basically figures out and Alys is all boo hoo about hurting other people’s feelings
- Drake and Tripp talk and Drake
said he can’t live without and tells him to please stop fking with them/making Alys confused
- Tripp decides to forget Alys and
leaves the Philippines for NYC
- Alys fails her courses and her mom decided to send her to NYC

End of book 1 😂

Yeah 😂 it is a wattpad story that was written in like .. 2010s so some words and topics that the author used back then is too sensitive/triggering for today's era of television.

But if I can give you my personal opinion about drake's obsession with his mom/breaking up the marriage it is probably bc he feels like his dad forgot about his mom and Drake feels alone in grieving while his dad has moved on with Katrina (major daddy issues 😳).

If there is a season 2, season 1 will probably end with a cliff hanger like the books. I might get cancelled for this, but based on what I read.. I'm team Tripp LOL They kind of made him creepy in the show, but in the books he was a major pushover for Alys (imo). BUT in the show's defense, they made Drake less of a red flag... It is what you make of it😊

In the book, Katrina was Drake's teacher and they started dating when he was like .. 14/15 (so a minor & adult, grooming). He had to transfer schools because she would get jealous when other girls would talk or give him attention and he didn't want her to get in trouble. They really downplayed Katrina and Drake's relationship in the show. He was low key obsessed with in her in the book and didn't really give her up until his dad found out about their relationship and kicked him out and Katrina was possessive of him until she got pregnant and Steve threatened to have her kicked out.

Book 2 there was a lot of mentions of suicidal thoughts, depression, and alcohol abuse (if this show gets picked up for a second season that is).

I wouldn’t get my expectations too high for an explanation. This subplot wasn’t in the book, looks like they added it in the show to make it less.. problematic/serious for the viewers and current social matters (the grooming of a minor)

So not just me 😂 I'm on ep 10 and I'm still waiting for this drama to get good. The writing is all over the place.. I think the actors are fine, but the script is just ass and none of the characters are relatable. They feel like 5 year olds in 18/19 year old bodies. IG delulu writers create delulu scripts and characters LOL
