Regarding what happened in the past was mostly due the fault of her old agency which was Sidus. She still had some success. After Extraordinary You, she has done mostly cameos in 2020, while in 2021 she had her drama with Taecyeon (Secret Inspector Joy), movie Midnight and then Snowdrop came..2022 was a much better year since two movies came out and that was Ditto and The Girl On A Bulldozer. She has received tons of awards for The Girl On A Bulldozer even in New York (NYAFF) and got recognized by Forbes US (who mostly talks about business).
Not sure how much you are up to date at what happened but she has joined a new agency this year itself and casting news came way faster. She is now in good hands with Acom (Artist Company) since she has even got more brand deals etc

Absolutely agree 😪 There is always room for growth for anyone when it comes to acting and directors should give her the chance to do more action (subgenre: sci-fi action, disaster, adventure) and thriller (subgenre: psychological thriller, crime thriller).
Definitely not everyone would be with my opinion but from now on i'd only like to see her in romance stuff when it is about queer stories depending if she is ready to do it
I'm glad Hyeyoon has a new drama, still hope her next projects after that unless she does a movie doesn't have a romance. An exception would be if it's not straight but lesbian/gay role if she's comfortable with it. A collaboration with her and Kim Taeri or Shin Haesun would be great.
She as a villain or badass assassin are roles she can definitely do well. She already had similar roles that are more in the gray zone, like in ❄️💧 or The Girl On A Bulldozer.

I agree, if she would feel comfortable with a lesbian/gay role, it's better, since she has always played with men so far. I haven't watched Eoy but i have seen one scene where her character has said something along the line: "I never planned on flirting with the female lead like this" 😂
I think the casting directors should also be more careful to put her in a project with people where it doesn't feel one-sided.
Sure there are actors and actresses who have their own skills but there are those who go beyond that and Hyeyoon is such a talent.
So I would rather see her working with people who have more experience and don't have blank expressions.
Like for example:
Han Suk-kyu: She could play with him in a police project.
Kim Hyesoo: Badass roles for these two women in a thriller or something.
Yim Siwan: Any genre. Even if there's a bit of romance in it, it would be fine because it would also be nice for the difference from old projects that Hyeyoon doesn't have such a big height difference.
Kim Taeri: Hyeyoon and Taeri as a couple with a unique plot.
It would be much more beneficial if from now on Hyeyoon's projects, whether they are movies or dramas are available worldwide, not only with subtitles but also dubbed in different languages, like on Prime Video or Netflix and it would be a own feeling if cinemas all over the world could bring her movies.
