I would say this drama is subjective in taste. I mean all dramas are but here one can feel this more. And i completely…
You can make something logical and still make it great. It just doesn't work here. I can suspend disbelief but not for something like this which is the foundation of their relationship. You might have liked fantasy elements or whatever, but I didn't. This plot of this drama goes nowhere, end of conversation.

It has been reiterated several times in the drama that Changyang is a prodigy, someone whose intellect and strength…
Its not realistic coz prodigies like that aren't that common, atleast I've never heard of one. I'm not saying its impossible but something that seems unbelievable to me won't make me invested in it, so I don't understand how this has been a life-changing show for people.
Deaths are uncertain, but they can also be avoided. I didn't say that being eaten by the bear could've been avoided, but the other two just exist for dramatic effects sorry.
I'm just expressing my opinion here on why I think this show is overhyped since nobody seems to say it. If you loved it that's fair.

Ik people living in the mountains mature early, but what he did and how he acts is above that level, which is why I said what I said. Maybe after you watch the whole thing you'll pick up on it.
Regarding the past and present lives thing, this is where I'll say something controversial. Nobody feels that instant connection when you talk to someone like that. Yes you might feel comfortable even when meeting a stranger after you talk to them but this is entirely different. Its extremely difficult to meet one's twin flame like that, saying your souls connected or you find your soulmate is very idealistic, but irl relationships need the build up and time for both people to understand the other person. Similarly strong feelings grow over time. We do have past and future lives, but there's a reason we don't remember them. Oh I meditated for 15 minutes and now I suddenly remember that you were my past lover, so now I love you. I'm 100% devoted and loyal so lets go through happiness and sadness together. Whoever saw this and was like wow a masterpiece is really living in a fairytale, or maybe wants one so they loved it so much.

I agree that it might be that some love this type of storytelling and I don't. For me I'd rather watch a documentary of some couple living in the mountains or living in the city navigating harsh realities(they exist and I do watch them) if I really wanted to watch a plot like this, maybe I'd miss the music but that's it

Thanks for replying like a sane person and not getting mad. I thought they meant their past lives(where they spent 100 years together) is what connected them in the first place. That's why it feels like there's almost no development at all. They are instantly together. That accident imo could've been completely avoided if they were a least bit careful, like maybe not picking up the phone while navigating a terrain like that. Thought that was basic information an adult would know and act on but not here ig.
I agree that the cinematography, music and everything is stunning, but that's not enough reason for me to agree with the others here. Yes the way of storytelling is thoughtful and the MC took initiative for once, but again at his age and with the kind of experience he has that's like a character trait he's bound to have.

The way people are hyping up this drama by saying its a 100/10 or 10/10 is weird asf. It feels like a fever dream with disjointed events and nothing really makes sense. Its all for nothing. The deaths are all forceful and could've been avoided easily but its clear that they were still included to induce as much sadness as possible in the viewers. The entire plot of the past lives felt something only included to fast forward the relationship of the two leads or else there would be no basis for them to start one. None of it is realistic. It felt like I was watching them act the entire time and the immersive feeling was missing, it was a good view but I wasn't emotionally connected to any character, they all seemed to make stupid decisions that adults in the cut-throat entertainment industry would never make. Also the age gap took me out of it, an 18 year old is never that mature and saying they were together for a 100 years or something is poetic to listen to but would never happen in reality.

BTS's music also sounds AI generated but you don't see me complaining.
I said what I said coz that's how I wanted to say it. If you can't see what the actual argument here is then that's proof of your lack of intelligence, child.

i found myself really enjoying the scenes from the movie, far more than the shallow plot with the actors in "real…
They did fall apart. We just didn't get to spend that much time with them apart coz again, the runtime is short. They covered as much of the plot as they could. Also, 'romaticizes' SA? Are you sure we're watching the same show?
