Why does Tian "need to go back to complete his studies...?" Only a third of people in the U.S. have college degrees.…
No problem! Yes exactly, I love how this series is so mature, and I guess only mature people will understand it. Like you said, Asian culture is different and we have different beliefs, so even if someone respectfully disagrees to an argumentative post, its fine. But there are some people who are just plain rude and insulting, calling our beliefs "arrogant". They are the kind of people we shouldn't waste our time and energy on. Instead of that, we can peacefully enjoy the series:) Its really a breath of fresh air...

100% agree, well said! In the future when he comes back, it will be because he wanted to, not because of anyone else. Chief knows that for the sake of the one he loves, he needs to let go, even if it means temporary pain for the time being. Tian needs time and space to heal. I am happy that except a few exceptions, a lot of people are starting to understand this
Wow episode 9 was an emotional roller coaster. I smiled, cried, got mad and cried more again. I don’t even know…
Totally agree with each and everything you said, in real life running away and having a love story like Romeo Juliet doesn't work...For the sake of your future happiness, you need to go through temporary pain, and this series portrays in perfectly. For me, this is true love, you put the needs of the one you love before your pain, even if that means letting go of that person for the time being...
Agreed. I feel that Phupha wants Tian to have the space to decide truly, for himself , if the village and Phupha…
OMG even you changed your profile picture haha! I forgot to mention it yesterday cause we were all so emotional...I hope you are feeling better now. I am actually feeling better, cause I know that whatever happened was meaningful and happened for a good reason. This series taught me that all the temporary pain is worth it for the sake of our happiness in the future...
Why does Tian "need to go back to complete his studies...?" Only a third of people in the U.S. have college degrees.…
I agree with you...People living in developed countries won't understand and will come up with the America narrative, just let them be...plus his engineering education came in handy so many times to help the village... And on top of that he came to the village because of Torfun and he still holds guilt, so he needs time for himself to heal. Phupha wants to give him the time and space. Let the people who disagree be as they are, you don't need to waste your energy on them cause they would never understand. Must be the fact that everything must be easy at the place where they come from
People keep complaint about why they don't kiss and why Phupa keep ask Tian to go back to his hometown and make…
When I think about all these other series, my appreciation level for ATOTS goes even higher...it's like finding a rare diamond in a pit full of garbage...who knows how long we will have to wait to find another gem like this one...
is this gonna have a sad/open ending??? like after watching ep 9 i really feel like it will. and i know it would…
I don't think it will...at least the director said that we will have a happy ending. I heard that even the book has a happy ending, and after what they put us through, if they give us a sad ending, people will legit burn the GMMTV building lol!
A user named @taypically on twitter summarized it beautifully on twitter -
"Phupha actually gave Tian the thing he really needs: Time & space. Tian might say he wanted to stay, but we have to remember he originally came to redeem himself, even on the hill, he was still talking about his guilt. Phupha didn't want him to be impulsive & live a guilt-ridden life"
We all know that as time passes, our pain will heal eventually, and I think Tian leaving the village symbolizes that, so that till the time he comes back, he will be healed...
Ok, so I am from a developing country and here, and realistically speaking, you can't do anything without a college degree. Not every country is like America, so stop with that narrative (although things are changing slowly for the better). But a 30 year old man like Phupha is obviously gonna feel like he is holding Tian back.
Tian wants to be a permanent volunteer teacher, and in order for that to be possible in a sustainable long-term way, he will need some money (not his father's, but his own) or at least something to rely on (like a college degree), if things don't go the right way. And as we saw, his engineering education did come in handy a lot of times, so completing his education will only benefit the village.
Plus the real reason Tian came to the village was because of Torfun. He has been carrying all the burden till now, so his leaving the village is symbolic cause he is finally letting go of the burden. So now when he comes back again, it will be because he himself wanted to, not because of someone else. For that, Phupha is willing to wait, even if it will hurt waiting.
To all of you who are feeling hurt and broken right now, it's okay and your feelings are valid. Even though it is just a TV show, the creators of this show put their heart and soul in this, cause they wanted us to experience all these feelings and emotions. So it's obvious that we all feel this way...you are not alone in this!
It's ok...take your time...I think a lot of us are finding it really hard to say goodbye, knowing that it's gonna…
I am not saying this to just sound nice, I am saying this because I genuinely mean it...you don't have to feel embarrassed about you mental health issues...your feeling are completely valid, and it's honestly not our fault that we feel this way. Even if it's just a TV series, we feel heart broken because we have become attached with the characters, the scenes, the music, the emotions...and that's what the cast and crew intended to do anyways, that's why each and every one put their heart and soul into it! They wanted us to go though these feelings and this experience, that's why they created such a beautiful series in the first place...
I just finished the episode and I am wrung out. I was happy and angry and sad and frustrated and so damned moved...…
It's ok...take your time...I think a lot of us are finding it really hard to say goodbye, knowing that it's gonna be the last episode next week...and this episode really played with our emotions. It felt to me as if Tian's farewell was our farewell to the series...
We gotta make way for fish upon a sky hun.... Then there is bad buddy and like other BLs (and non BLs too) ..…
Of course I know that there are plenty of series coming up...but I have become way too attached with A Tale of Thousand Stars...and I have never felt this way before with any other series, maybe it's just me, but it really hurts...
